It's my best guess that this is a Maadi, As far as I know they are 1 of 2 makers of .50 BMG pistols, and the other was just a production version only 1 made.

@Letsmakeasamich actually, this is the maadi-griffin, but clearly it's one that when built it was customized to have a shorter barrel by the owner ofr a gunsmith. hence the slightly higher recoil. this is a maadi, with a very short barrel

I would presume they are testing the gun. 50BMG is a hugely powerful round(as evidenced by the shooter being thrown back), so if their test gun exploded it would kill them. When most guns blow up you'll get some shrapnel in your face and body, but you'll survive. If a 50BMG goes your head is going to go with it.
