@aussiedutchukrainian Its filmed in front of a live studio audience but there are only a few shows that actually use the laughter from the audience, the rest dub laughter over the jokes. I think Fry and Laurie use real audience laughter and if u watch it the laughs arent as big as other shows. Watch 24 hour panel people on youtube and youl see what these shows are like with no laugh track. The jokes arent as funny because there isnt a room of people cracking up to make it funnier to the viewer
She is a TV personality, known currently for being one of the judges on Britain's Got Talent.
The joke relates to the tabloid stories when she was married to Les Dennis, only to have an affair with Neil Morrissey which led to divorce. In fact it was Piers Morgan, her now co-judge on BGT, who exposed the story.
@markus1357@thatdrattedcat Yeah can't add much more to that. As for the close-up on Clive, I think it was just that his reaction was illustrative of the cringeworthiness of the joke.
id love to hear this episode without any laughter track. im sure the laughs would still be there but they wouldnt be as big.

He got away with it....all of it. Hopefully one day he'll be brought to the Hague for trial.
It'll probably never happen though.

Who is Amanda Holden and why did the audience give that reaction to the joke? And why the closeup on Clive?
