  • Btw, I was 17 going on 18, and in Year 10 and in High School in NSW, when this song was orginally released, and still sounds as awesome now, as it did then! Top stuff!!

  • Been hearing this song played out of people's cars in Melbourne a lot lately... Thanks for putting it up here!!! Legendary song. xx

  • this is one of the last songs I remember hearing on the old KFMH radio station out of Muscatine,Ia before they got bought out by their competition and turned into a top 40 country station. 99+, a great station to grow up to. I miss Capt. Steve, Dirty Judy, and the gang. My favorite dj was on that station, and I can't remember his name. long live the independent stations.

  • Canada Breed's the best musicians on THE EARTH, Rush!

  • 2 people didnt reach out and touch somebody

  • This song has alot meaning especially to the emergency services as a volunteer with SES (State Emergency Service) the represent what we the SES the Country and Metropolitan Fire Services, Paramedics and Police do to help those in need from Fires to Floods.

  • Puta som cara..valeu.

  • there are plenty of quality tracks like this in the true metal world. i wish regular rock though were as good as this

  • "Re-chout an... re-chout an... re-chout an touch somebody..."

  • yuuummmmmmmmmo

  • Silly anecdote warning: When I was 16 I sneaked into a concert at Twin Towns where Noiseworks were playing.....I was so close to the stage that Jon Stevens' spittle landed on me while he was singing...I swore to never wash my cheek and that one day I would be Mrs Stevens...never married Jon but I did become Mrs Stevens! Weird huh!?

  • i love this song...tho' at the time of it's release,i did think it bordered on Simple Minds' tune 'Alive N' Kicking'...a song wrote about 3 years earlier..

  • @jnpikey people probably think its the same as its in the same key

  • @yodaisadragqueen REALLY?

  • perfeito...maravilhoso....

  • I was totally in awe of these guys - Kings of Leon rock but Noiseworks had this genre down pat, their sound is amazing

  • I remember the first time I heard this song on the radio, I was in awe.

I kinda miss the days of 80s Oz rock.

These guys were right up there with Cold Chisel and The Church.

  • Is there anyway I can download this video?

  • @The80sMusicGuy

Ant.com video toolbar is the way to go....

  • perfect start

  • Zero dislikes! Ftw!

  • Great band great song, thanks xx

  • ..just don't fly Jetstar again Jon!!

  • One of the only Aussie bands i could get fired up over really....big sound and great live!!!

  • Great song but how did they sing it without electricity [on the ocean cliff] for the micophones and the electric giutars? Only thing i can think of is a genarator.

  • @locomotion60 they are noiseworks, they dont need electricity, they send out a vibe of awesomeness to generate their power

  • @locomotion60 you are not serious or ?

  • As always-great post nzoz88.....you certainly make my viewing youtube pleasant with all these GREAT old songs...............

  • Its a joke that Noiseworks didnt crack the USA or UK market, these boys live were the best thing since slices bread, better than Inxs any other band, & I hold Inxs in high regard, that's saying something !

  • impresionante cancion y video

  • Noiseworks signature track. More than appropriate at the Sound Relief concerts in Melbourne and Sydney. Moving

  • Philip98183. This song has, and, 24 years later still has, a lot of meaning for me,too, particularly with our obligation to our fellow human being, esp the Third World, how we care for our fragile planet Earth, and the importance of acting with non-violence towards one another, instead of denigrating one another. What a shame we don't have more songs with a social conscience such as this today.

  • not all songs sound good live..but i bet this would be a cracker. You can just imagine the goodwill in the crowd. Brilliant

  • @smokycharizma

I saw Jon Stevens at a live gig earlier this year. The guy is even better live. Awesome performer and a powerful voice.

  • Comment removed

  • ""musical masterpiece"" they were onto it !!

  • Do you realise if we hadn't lived in Australia or New Zealand we would never have heard of this song or band. Makes me feel sorry for the rest of the world to be honest.

  • @gxd4b1 amen to that..

  • I remember this song got used in an advert for Surf Life Saving back in the early 90s

  • I Don't know if anyone else agree but Jon Stevens sounds like lead singer to Kings of Leon

  • @76musicman

yes absolutly i agree with this fellow.

there's something across U2, INXS and simple minds in this music.

    THX

  • @76musicman You're not alone in that thought.

  • @76musicman

Should that be the other way around I mean Kings of Leon never existed in the 80's.

  • this is the best song, band and love Jon,what a voice!!!! :):):)

  • it's 2010 and this song sounds as good as back in 1988 , one of my favourites ever

  • Not even wild horses running could stop them for playing on a dangerous cliff face. I hope they have black safety harnesses. Still a great Aussie classic. :)

  • Powerful Voice !! Excellent song from the 80's

  • These guys could have been as big as INXS.

  • As far as Australians and New Zealanders were concerned, they were as big as INXS. Very very popular. Cheers!! They are still touring too. :-) their concerts are awesome.

  • When I got my first walkman for my 7th birthday (1989) it came with "Sony hits in Australia 1989" on cassette. This was one of the songs on it, I played that tape to death. Rock and roll started with this track for me.

    swed68

  • What a great song!!.Seen them last year at Shopping Town hotel (Doncaster) last year and they blew me away. There best song and one of the best Aussie songs ever made.

  • My favourite Noiseworks song is "It's Time" , the last track on their first album.

But this comes close. Is anyone else reminded of U2's "New Year's Day"?

  • Ive never known a rock song to drive so much emotion & yet be so uplifting at the same time, this song is one of the best rock songs that an australian band has "EVER" produced, & this song live is amazing, Noiseworks 4eva.

  • We could raise a Hell of alot more money 4 the BushFire appeal if JonStevens/Noiseworks sue the pants of KOLeon who r the poor man's version. The very least a new generation should not be deprived of the greatness of the Best band of OZ/NZ Rock History!!!

  • What an excellent closure song for the 2009 Wildfire Memorial Service. Very moving.

  • Yes it was the perfect song for the memorial service.

  • the song fitted very well with the memorial service! sang pretty well by Michael Paynter there

ironic how the backdrop to this MV uses fire?

  • What a brilliant close to the Bushfire Memorial Service - this song absolutely rocks! A fantastic service this 22nd Feb 2009. The Spirit of Australia will overcome this adversity - together we will stand tall and rebuild in the true blue Aussie tradition!

  • Its just one of them timeless songs that doesn't age.

  • and Jon is also timeless - he still looks the same now, 21 years on!

  • They just closed the bushfire memorial service with this song..Brilliant song.

  • Can't believe it only made No. 9 on the Oz charts.

I think I heard Jon Stevens say on the radio it hit No.1 in Switzerland.

Shows the Swiss have good taste.

  • Great song,but don't tell me it does't sound like early U2.
