Btw, I was 17 going on 18, and in Year 10 and in High School in NSW, when this song was orginally released, and still sounds as awesome now, as it did then! Top stuff!!
this is one of the last songs I remember hearing on the old KFMH radio station out of Muscatine,Ia before they got bought out by their competition and turned into a top 40 country station. 99+, a great station to grow up to. I miss Capt. Steve, Dirty Judy, and the gang. My favorite dj was on that station, and I can't remember his name. long live the independent stations.
This song has alot meaning especially to the emergency services as a volunteer with SES (State Emergency Service) the represent what we the SES the Country and Metropolitan Fire Services, Paramedics and Police do to help those in need from Fires to Floods.
Silly anecdote warning: When I was 16 I sneaked into a concert at Twin Towns where Noiseworks were playing.....I was so close to the stage that Jon Stevens' spittle landed on me while he was singing...I swore to never wash my cheek and that one day I would be Mrs Stevens...never married Jon but I did become Mrs Stevens! Weird huh!?
i love this song...tho' at the time of it's release,i did think it bordered on Simple Minds' tune 'Alive N' Kicking'...a song wrote about 3 years earlier..
Great song but how did they sing it without electricity [on the ocean cliff] for the micophones and the electric giutars? Only thing i can think of is a genarator.
Its a joke that Noiseworks didnt crack the USA or UK market, these boys live were the best thing since slices bread, better than Inxs any other band, & I hold Inxs in high regard, that's saying something !
Philip98183. This song has, and, 24 years later still has, a lot of meaning for me,too, particularly with our obligation to our fellow human being, esp the Third World, how we care for our fragile planet Earth, and the importance of acting with non-violence towards one another, instead of denigrating one another. What a shame we don't have more songs with a social conscience such as this today.
noiseworks played at the gc600 v8 super car race the other week. and i must say as a younger bloke who likes the older music. this band was fucking fantastic. they went off. very great band to see live.
Do you realise if we hadn't lived in Australia or New Zealand we would never have heard of this song or band. Makes me feel sorry for the rest of the world to be honest.
Not even wild horses running could stop them for playing on a dangerous cliff face. I hope they have black safety harnesses. Still a great Aussie classic. :)
I'm starting to think us Americans are sometimes music snobs. This is the 2nd Australian band I've heard that is just totally great. (1st one being Cold Chisel). Man i'm sure glad I watched these videos. Why these guys didnt have success in america is beyond me. Thanks for posting!
@offspringfan41588 good on you offspring, Cold Chisel brilliant, Noiseworks fantastic. Have a listen to the Badloves, great aussie band now not around, lead singer has such a bluesy, silky voice
In Ireland I accidentally came across Noiseworks singles Take me Back and Touch in a bargain basement at 10 pence each. I loved this RARE find and the band looked so hot on the covers that they helped me on my jouney to understanding me
As far as Australians and New Zealanders were concerned, they were as big as INXS. Very very popular. Cheers!! They are still touring too. :-) their concerts are awesome.
AAAAHHHHH that's right i remember there is GREAT FKN AUSSIE TRUE BLUE MUSIC....I wish i can reach out and turn video hits on and here this music again!!!!

Great song,...what power!!! Very inspiring to do better at all parts of one's life. They kept me going after my dad passed away,...drew much strenght from this song and I'll always cherish it!God bless Aussie music and especially NOISEWORKS!!!
