Dunno what some of you are on, there's nothing wrong with physical play, the problem is morons who think sucker punching and boxing on ice is something great. Might be my opinion but it sucks, Olympic and Euro hockey is great precisely because lug headed fools aren't flinging their fists around. Play the damn game :)

This guy has no idea what hes talking about, hockey is one of the fastest growing sports in the united states. Fighting will always have a place in north american hockey.

I think the sport itself is just not embraceable by the masses. There's not too many people that have grown up following hockey, and that's not necessarily it's fault, it's just the way it is. Baseball is big among kids and it has its issues, but that's why it's still doing alright

People like wilbon have ruined hockey, im a wings fan, i've seen hockey without the physical play and it sucks. You have to police the ice or guys start going after your stars plain and simple. the wings tried to go it without an enforcer until they kept seeing people trying to take franzen and hank z's head off. Just try leading calgary or st louis and see how life without tough guys is. You get to watch your stars get beaten. Once again something cool was watered down for children and money.

Dude hockey is not the MMA. It is supposed to be a finese sport. If you want to watch fighting, go watch boxing.

@Huggins293 A finesse sport? dude girls basketball is a finesse sport. i started watching in the early 80's ad hockey is definitely not a finesse sport, not the way canadians play it. Which in my opinion is the way it should be played, not the swedish way. Mike Wilbon knows jack about hockey and if you think it's a finesse sport i don't know if you do either. I was ony referring to the fact that some players take liberties with the talent and policing it shouldn't be taken out of the game. jeez.
