What I liked about Ostertag, is in his book John Amaechi said Ostertag asked him, "Ya gay, dude?" Amaechi said it was clear Ostertag couldn't have cared less. It's good to know that Ostertag was willing to accept Amaechi's preference. Amaechi said that he wishes that he had confided in the gentle big man.

Let me tell you, I'm 38 in 2011, Japanese-American (so I HATE the Boston Celtics and Utah Jazz), born in Seattle, and love the Sonics and Blazers. BUT, i KNEW that Greg Ostertag would pan out. Utah got a STEAL. Notice my teams, Sonics and Blazers? Think THEY could have used an intimidating defensive presence at center? That was Greg Ostertag. The only thing I hated about Ostertag, is that he played for Utah (I AM Japanese-American, after all), and that he killed the Sonics and Blazers.
