Review of Samsung Omnia HD - i8910

The TV-out comes out from the 3.5 mm jack ;) After a 2-year time, battery is still doing its job (lasts about 3 days of normal activity). Camera (8mpx) is working fine though you have to stand still a few seconds after the shooting click. After i've used this phone I can say: This was a good investment and it made the difference between other phones at the time Omnia HD was born. SAMSUNG Touchscreens are the best phones on the market with the best price-quality rating. I'll buy me Galaxy S2 now!

Have you heard about the I8910SERII2 Firmware that has been released? What do you think of it? I noticed that I dont have a 3d task manager and read that it's available in that firmware. Do you think downloading it will mess my phone up and make it lag?

I really don't know. I test a lot of phones for use as mobile journalist (MOJOs). I borrowed the Omnia HD from Samsung for about three weeks.

I recently bought an Omnia HD and love it so far.

I too was disappointed about the anti-shake especially when I restarted the phone and got the anti-shake working, and then lost it again :( Maybe there is a firmware that will fix this.. Which brings me to my question:

ofcoarse there is no perfect fone in the world, evry fone has its weakness and its strengths, this is one is more of a video recording fone, as a camera its very lacky and not perfect, its better in lighting conditions and the touchscreen is very lacky and need upgrades, compared to the Htc, SAMSUNG DOESNT COME CLOSE SORRY TO ALL SAMSUNG FANS BUT ITS TRUE

Hi Mojo, So how is the camera, is it ok or laggy?

The one I tested didn't have the ani-shake function activated. The picture quality on still images was great,, but from time to time you could se wobling/lagging in the video when recordin in 720p.

Hey, I wonder if the video quality was same as the Jet. I had a Viewty and compared to that, the video quality was poor. On slow moving video, yes, very nice but, try and move the phone and take a video, and its very poor. All the 720p then means just crap hype. The Viewty takes videos truly like a mini camcorder with very fluid video. Just a shame the LG signal quality is crap too...

Although I really like Samsung phones, I recently bought a Tocco Lite and returned that to the shop because of crap signal. Then I bought a Samsung Jet, and that had the same crap signal. Both phones were giving me intemittant Emergency Calls Only in an area where my trusty old SE K800 never lost the signal. Thats why I am now afraid to buy any Samsung phone. Same story with LG phones, great phones, but crap signal. Whats the use of all the fancy functions if you cant make a call.

I agree. The signal is weak. It's something Samsung should work on.

It was OK, but not great. As you can see in the comment from nem2010, the signal strenght is weak compared to other phones. I know a lot of people says it's just because Samsung shows the actual signal strength, and that phones like Nokia shows a to optimistic signal strength. I lost connection on the Omnia HD, before I did on my Nokia N82.

are you kiddin me, the hd2 better means bigger, the omnia looks so small compared to it, hd2 has 4.3" screen yeah same as the psp and u can see huge of evrythin and high resolution as well, only thing isnt 720p HD ofcoarse but really the Omnia cant display HD playback cuz it would need a true HD screen ofcoarse so it converts it into the max video res i thik its 720x480 dvd quality which is nice, but for me its not about video itd all about the screen and wut evrythin else offers
