Heartbreaking to watch. Carl trying to do what they thought they had to do to save Petes life. But on a happy note - we know they are in a better place and ready to give it another go. Here's hoping the bad times are behind them and they can move on to the magic that is the LIBERTINES! All four of the originals...no substitutes. Only they can create that original sound. I love the second album ALMOST as much as the first but I they were way more focused on the first and you just can't top songs like the Good Old Days, Time for Heroes and Death on the Stairs. I definitely agree with you it's not about rocking out it IS about true, honest to self expression above all. Oh and I can't stand Metallica (metal period).

The Libertines is good too, UTB is always said to be better but hearing TL, I only dislike a few songs. It's hard to compare they are very different, UTB is very garage and the second album is much more refined. However, I'll probably always prefer UTB.

I know a hell of a lot about music, definetly enough to know that the beatles ar the most overrated bands in history, especially when true masters such as Robert Johnson, Chet Atkins and Chuck Berry nearly go unheard of.
Not saying the Beatles were a bad band, there just not as good as everyone says, but I don't expect much from another mindless Beatles fan that thinks Sgt. Pepper was the best album ever and John,Paul,George and Ringo are just Godlike...

i agree with you on chuck berry, atkins and johnson but i'm not a mindless beatles fan as you put it, i don't think sgt peppers was the best album, but i do know that the libertines are no where near to being even a tenth as good as the beatles. The libertines, now theres a band that was truly overrated, good first album, thats it. They didn't change anything, didn't create any new effects, didn't challenge any old ones, they just did one good album

u actually think they had an affect on those bands? which are also very mediocre by the way, they didn't change anything, rap and and all the bling bling bollocks had been the fashionable thing and that ran out of steam and these glorified boy bands took the place to satisfy the commercial market, they didn't change anything. Have a read about what the beatles did both politically and musically, aswell as the various pieces of recording equipment they invented that inspired so many other artits.

i know those bands are mediocre (apart from AM) and obviously they were nowhere near as influential as the beatles!! But they were very influential for the "NME indie" thing which has dominated music for the past 3-4 years. I already know a lot about the beatles they are my favourite band of all time lol.

The Libertines is good too, UTB is always said to be better but hearing TL, I only dislike a few songs. It's hard to compare they are very different, UTB is very garage and the second album is much more refined. However, I'll probably always prefer UTB.
