I suppose Hanabi is a part of the branch family. However, as we all know Hinata is the main heir to the Hyuga's family main branch. But, because she lacks in many things her father sees her as worthless and not worthy of the title. Thus he trains his second daughter. At least, thats how I think it works lol. But Im not sure if Hinabi is a part of the side branch? :S

Yeah I know Hanabi wasn't shown fighting but I believe it's things like that is what makes the game cool. Like the Konohamaru Corps weren't seen fighting much or non at all in the anime and manga but they're playable anyway, the same goes for Yondaime.
