  • this band is only a shell of what they used to be

  • doesnt work like it did in the 80's....

  • So good. Wow!

  • About lyrics... I wrote to them in Summer of 1980, asking for any lyric sheet and the response, on a single card in my SASE was "no lyrics"

No wonder Michael has to read a sheet.

  • tele-prompting?

    how old is he?

  • they havent played this in years, forgot his own lyrics. song is over 25 years old

  • this was actually part of a residency described as "live rehearsals", mainly for the material from what would become accelerate, he had lyric sheets for most songs they performed. mike mills even got on a megaphone a couple of times reminding people "this is not a show!"

  • I might just have to make a might sign to take to Southampton saying "play Carnival of Sorts!" If that fails I will bombard the stage with paper airplanes saying the same thing.

It would be incredible if they played it.

  • I agree, one of the best songs.

  • if they perform this song when i see them in the summer, all my internal organs will probably just explode

still one of their very best songs

  • Oh, I completely agree. They're "officially" kicking off their North American tour in my hometown of Vancouver and I'm hoping to hear a lot of their old stuff. So, if I come home without a kidney, oh well, it'll be worth it!

  • Saw the set list for these gigs. Really exciting - new stuff (thanfully miles away from "Around The Sun"), most of Chronic Town (apart from "Stumble") and odd picks from assorted albums inc. under-rated "Circus Envy". No "Moon", "Hurts", "Religion", etc - thank fuck. It's about time they did something exciting again.

  • Fantastic Song. Sounds just as fresh 25 years later!

  • Great movie & sound!

Thank you very much for this great souvenir to a wonderful time in Dublin!

We saw the 4th of July and 5th of July shows, well Not shows, Rehearsals and the were fabulous!

  • I saw REM at the Music Hall in Cleveland in 1984. 10,000 people, no one sat down the whole concert. I've never been a part of a large group that was so much in tune with the band and with each other. Michael Stipe was amazing - still is.

  • I think that this sounds just as it did when they first wrote it. And that's amazing. Thanks for posting this.

  • Excellent song Excellent video 1st class
