  • very tasty and powerfull

  • is it just a simple case of a midi in out cable to midi sync these guys ?

  • @francaisemusique Yep just MIDI out on one to MIDI in on the other and the slave unit set accordingly.

MIDI is quite a simple system, the only thing that can make it a pain is setting up each unit to function properly with in a larger MIDI set up but that's only because each unit has a different interface for programming. The principals of MIDI remain straight forward.

  • @snolan1990 ah thankyou :) yes i guess that could be a problem haha :) MIDI is such a fantastic invention though :D

  • Woah a zip disk!

  • Sup New Order ;) Love this.

  • I love old drumboxes!

  • Great disco style beat.

  • the 707 sounds just like a 12bit 909 :)

  • very pet shop boys! love it!

  • Very nice jam! Sounds really oldschool! Thats how I like it ^^

  • Soooo good.

  • Love it, looks like you can have a lot of fun with these machines!

  • are they midi synched? or just on the same tempo?

  • MIDI 707 is the master.

  • You get on with a very nice smooth groove...

You certainly got feeling for dance music, keep it up!

  • nice to see someone who knows how to use a drum machine

  • It's nice to see someone who didn't circuit bend their hardware.

Hey does anybody know where you can get a tr-505. E-bay is going to be a last resort for me (got ripped off once).

  • You might get lucky and find a 505 at a Thrift store or a cash convertors or something like that but generally eBay is the place to go if you want to get one quickly. you have to be careful on ebay but I bought my entire set up there with minimal trouble.

If you scout around hard ware forums you might find somebody willing to sell a 505 (thats how I got my 727) but there is a chance the risk may be even higher that way, Good luck whatever you do and put a video up when you get it :)

  • Hey, thanks for the info!

    And will do, later.

  • @snolan1990 exactly quickly means ebay . but i find that old equipment seems to be more satisfying when it comes from a thrift store ( like my arp odyssesy and juno 60 and EPS ) or from the swapmeet ( like my departed 505 and my soon to be sold dr 550 and my tr 77 ) or just randomly from a stranger who "happens to have a..... ( like my sh1000 and juno 106 ) or from a pawnshop ( like my polysix and tr 707) everytime someone buys one of these on ebay the price goes up for us patient people

  • @PHAEDRIDER If you live outside the USA then you will very rarely find any synths in pawn shops because there are simply so fewer over here. I have been going to carboot sales and pawn shops for about 3 years looking for synths and all I have ever found was my JX-3P (which was actually about £10 more than the average eBay rate at the time) and my DR-110 which I got for £20 (which was a bargain). In the USA yeah you can find stuff locally but anywhere else you pretty much have to use eBay.

  • @basementdweller1

you could try looking into electronic music/noise music forums and post a want for the item, thats what i did. Found it pretty effective, good luck.

  • I already got the 505, but since the search for gear never stops, thanks for the info.

Got a TR-505 and an MC-303 already. Going for a Korg EMX-1 hopefully sometime this year or so.

  • Excellent stuff. Thanks!

  • Very nice! I was thinking of selling my 707 but honestly don't know lol I love it but I sampled it in my S-3200XL and I could do with the cash.hmmmm love the bongos in the 626 use them a lot in my MPC

  • You could probably get well over £200 for your 707 on ebay if you have the box still.

I use the 626 as a poor mans 727 I'm looking for a Juno 60 with JSQ-60 sequencer as my next buy then maybee an S1000 when I have the cash, once you get into this stuff it sapps all your money :)

  • Mate I don't just have the box, I still have the original Roland batteries, leads and everything that came with it...it's basicaly new the guy just had it in storage...Box is a bit tatty but all there.

Yeah I know about the money thing lol

I want a S-900/950 as a poor mans MPC-60 and also a S-1000 for the fact I always wanted one hahah

Juno-60's are lovely..see you like the old Chicago house sound..the 60 makes that lovely larry heard bass mmm even though he had a JP-6 and 707

  • Juno, Sequencer, Mixer and Moniters are all still on my shopping list.

I can't wait to have everything fully functioning until them its all a bit haphazard. I'm going to get rid of that desk in this video and build myself a big desk this week so i can atleast get what i have set up nicely.

  • Cool man, what sequencer are you planing on buying?

I want all my old Clavia and Waldorf gear back lol

  • I will have to do some research but I think I will have to get the JSQ-60 for the Juno.

Do you still have your Micro Modular or your SH-32?

You seem to have a set up you are very comfortable with its always great to see you on the 2000XL.

  • Thanks :-)

The Micro and SH went a long time ago :-(

Have you thought of a Midi to DCB convertor for the Juno..there are also MIDI retro fits but they cost a lot, I saw a MIDI to DCB convertor on ebay only a few weeks ago and it didn't go for a bad price

  • I will have to look into that, I cant find much info on the JSQ-60 which is what I will be sycnching to if it is Din compatible i can just slave it to the 707 if not i will get a DCB - MIDI box.

  • Nice job! Sounds good.

  • Thanks, You have a very nice set up.

I am slowly building up some gear Mixer next then I will have to save up for a while to get a Juno 60. I was thinking about getting an MC-202 for a while, how do you get on with yours?

  • Hi, programming the 202 is a bit difficult however it sounds nice (same synth basically than the sh101). I put 2 "howto's" at my youtube, see for yourself.

  • nceee :P how much are these babys ?

  • TR-707 will cost you around £200, TR-626 will cost you around £50, SP-808 will cost you around £180 and MC-303 will be about £100. Those are all eBay prices if you find them in cash convertors or at the carboot sale you can expect to pay alot less in most cases.
