  • i like phantom.... so sucses for u, and i hope u can be the best...

    proud of u phantom....

    your fans...

  • and im a memeber of a four person sousa section :(

  • Oh sounds like melted dark chocolate from heaven when the low brass comes in

  • Ave Marian

  • Next time try to shake the camera MORE. Oh, sorry, that would be impossible.

  • @saildapper2001 What's there to see anyways? Sound's all that matters here.

  • Doing a presentation for History of Christmas (yes, that's an actual class) tomorrow -- going to use this as part of my demonstration of the Ave Maria. Thanks for posting!

  • JD Shaw sure knows what he's doing. This arrangement of the Biebl is incredible.

  • What place did they get in Allentown?

  • the audience is so rude

  • I remember watching this at the SE Championship in Atlanta. It's a pretty incredible moment towards the end when they start into the "amen" section. After each run where there is a small pause, you can feel the silence of a stadium full of people not making a sound. Everyone is engaged in the music at that moment and all are on edge waiting for the final "amen," which has that long suspension leading to the glorious resolution the audience needs so badly. Pretty great stuff.

  • It's not a marching band..... It's called Drum and Bugle COrps.... there is a huge difference... Drum Corps does not use woodwinds and have far better talent than a high school marching band

  • @kcbones175 Or, you could also say "Drum corps limit themselves through limited choice in instrumentation, intentionally, and we're not taken seriously in other music circles because of it."

Hey I'm a fan, and it's just true. Limit yourself to brass and percussion only, and limit the sound. Sometimes less is just... less.

  • @Apollostowel I don't ever think Drum Corps is ever limited for sound Apollo... Nothing can sound as regal as solid brass wall... And with voicing instruments as they do; Trumpet/Flugal/Mello/Bari/Euph/Contra... You've got 6 voicings right there, then add in 3 part harmony on top... What more do you need my friends?? Frankly with that sound bank, everything else gets lost. IMHO and I'm old school DCI so, I'm definitely bias, woodwinds and strings have no place on the field of competition.

  • @Jamler3 For drum corps they don't, but let high schools have woodwinds, haha. And strings? That would be entertaining to watch

  • It's hard to believe that a marching band can bring tears to my eyes.

  • I love it! But how on earth do they watch the drum major when he is standing up in the audience? I would find that kinda distracting. =/ But that's just me and I'm far from in Drum Corps! =P

  • @imnotgone144 Lol ya. Well when you're as good as these guys and have practiced as much, you probably don't even need one for a piece just standing still

  • i played that song this year for my marching show:)

  • It's beautiful. Frankly, most people in the crowds are not familiar with this version of Ave Maria by Biebl but I think it's the best version of all Ave Maria out there.

  • @acuison1 I agree too! we sing it in our choir and it is the only piece that has ever made my mother cry in my 10 years of being involved in choir, band or musical theatre.

  • @drewcunningham28 Lol ya. Well when you're as good as these guys and have practiced as much, you probably don't even need one for a piece just standing still

  • @22boudreaux22 Wow I clicked the wrong person my bad

  • How do you put this on repeat?

  • @CCRunnerman5 you click on this ---> 0:15

  • 0:33 There really are no words to describe something as beautiful as this.

  • 2 people just watched Spartacus and they still feel like nothing will ever be better and so they clicked dislike. And 1 blue devils fan is just being gay. ;)

  • Gorgeous. Nobody plays like Phantom plays. Incredible rendition of an incredible piece of music.

  • I've always loved the sound of PR's horns. Such a full, rich, magnificent sound. Very musical.

  • the trumpets in the beginning can't captivate the emotions of this piece quite like baritones can.

  • I love the goosebumps i get from watching this vid

  • The most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Legit.

  • Apparently either 3 people are deaf, or don't have speakers =] This is definitely one of the most beautiful things I've heard from them!

  • there truly is nothing like great drum corps playing such amazing and moving pieces Great Job Phantom Regiment hats off to you

  • this song always gives me the chills! Phantom Regiment did such a good job here.

  • I sang this over 20 years ago in college choir and never thought another version would move me as much. This is simply gorgeous.

  • I love the random drum major in the crowd

  • 4 years since i heard this in Faust...STILL gives me goosebumps like no other. thank you, phantom regiment, for being this musically talented. the cadence/resolution at the end from the baritone/euphs is what gets me every time. :)

  • our marching band is doing this version

  • I love watching the drum major at the end of the video. He's like bitch slapping everyone with his cues.

  • I love PR best .....Ave Maria....

  • So glad they did the Biebel. It is by far the best Ave Maria.

  • agreed.

  • That dissonance is awesome :)

  • we played this for our Christmas concert. our director marhced phantom lol

  • so beautiful - thanks for sharing! and I send my condolences to the friends and family of Zachary Headden.....a Phantom Mom.

  • rest in peace Zach. you will be missed dearly

  • rest in peace Zachary Headden. This song so beautifully played, even if by another corps, runs through my head for you and I'm sure for many others.

    R.I.P.

  • @iluvjisung Zachary Headden?Who's that?

  • Zach Headden, may his soul rest in peace, was the Head Drum Major for Pacific Crest Drum and Bugle Corp, he just recently passed away by car accident.

  • :(...sorry to hear that.

  • It's like chocolate running through my ears. :)

  • @DrumManTX TO ME ITS LIKE CHOCOLATE RAIN THROUGH MY EARS!

  • recording is not allowed for only the shows....encores are fine to record.

  • @umasstpt12 what about the phantom regiment 2008 video thats up o,o

  • I agree completely.

  • Thank God for YouTube to satisfy those drum corps cravings.

  • agreed.
