  • It just might be one of the most rare historical accounts in recorded history. It is uploaded on my channel. A never before released wtc attack video that is a continuous running account. The only such video account that exists. It is a time capsule; it is the answer to the question: what would it have been like to watch that all unfold right before my eyes.. without the media.. just to watch it all from beginning to the end.. in a non-production way. Only one 'Tuesday Morning in September'

  • 4:16 have they not heard of a baggy full of water hangin by the front door? It keeps them dang flies out because there eyes can't focus on it, so they fly the other way.

  • reminds me of my Grandma and Grandpa's place up in Kentucky

  • I envy these guys. well, maybe not the hygiene part but, living off the land in seclusion from todays poisonous atmosphere (mentality) nasty mean ass people, credit, mainstream media, politics, and being a slave to the fkkkdup system weve allowed to encompass us. freedom: how man kind was genetically designed to exist. freely.

  • Is he blind

  • Great video, but I found funny how the people filming this are in such awe at a radio that you wind up for power. Was surprised they haven't seen anything like that. I have on as well as flashlights, they're everywhere.

  • @ditttch -I'm easily amused and often awestruck! I was aware of solar energized/generator crank radios back in 2001 when I filmed this, but this was indeed the first one that I had seen. Also, I was actually a bit surprised that they possessed a nifty modern radio like that considering everything else in their cabin was pretty basic and seemingly devoid of modern technology. I love the look on Hansel's face when the radio came to life for those couple of seconds, you know that's a prize.

  • Very interesting video. Real Americans living a life that has been here for 350 years. Try hunching down like the one brother, we can't do it for long due to sitting in chairs all day. Thank you so much for sharing this slice of America. wtr7

  • Oh my God, is this real? (๏̯͡๏

  • @Jeneverput Very real, i live here!

  • @RWOATMAN

Ok..thanks for your response, I appreciate that!!

  • Watching this makes me think back to the 1700's

  • One day we'll all be here and I, for one, will be finally happy.

  • A lost art, people are screwed.

  • Best short clip I have seen. Carried a message from Mr Sutton. I loved it...

  • Simplicity... bliss. when i finally have to leave society this is how i want it

  • They seem happy:D

  • that ol boy reminds me alot of my palpal Joe

  • Needs subtitles; very interesting.

  • very interesting i would be interested in seeing more!

  • "Only when the last tree has been cut down; Only when the last river has been poisoned; Only when the last fish has been caught; Only then will you find that money cannot be eaten."

  • My husband has lived in Dorton Branch Hallow his whole life, im from the north and when he go a drink from the creak he lives by i thought it was just funny. i love this video :]

  • That's a fine looking melon. Great video.

  • thank you for this, it gave me hope hard to come by these days

  • great video

  • When the crap hits the fan someday, we will see who survives. It won't be people with pockets full of money, it will be people who have lived by simple means and have learned to make do with what God has given us. God gave us all we need to survive.

  • i would take this life anyday hands down

  • the last of the real nohah's

  • How are the brothers doing today? These people remind me of home. Good people.

  • that radio is a joke...i bought one and true you wind it for it to work but its storing energy on a battery and when it goes out you have to buy a new one.

  • I would love to bring a few beer and go have a sit down around a campfire and hear their stories.

  • @ModernNorseman they'd say what you doin up in the mountains city boy

  • @ModernNorseman you forgot to type message lol

  • West Virginian and proud.

  • I'm from Australia and I've got to say that for the first couple of minutes I was kind of struggling a bit with the accent. But after a while I kind of got my ear tuned and I was right from then on. These are really nice genuine people.

  • I'm proud to be a hillbilly from the appalachian mts. Thanks for your comment Phuckingjerk

  • thanks for sharing

  • these people make me ashamed to complain about my internet connection and about why my tv aint big enuff!

  • to not have to call anyone boss or master. always entitled to the sweat from your brow. surrounded by people who have no illicit desire for what you earned. cant say im ready for the hardship but i can see how someone can live like this so rewardingly.

  • I stumbled on this video while watching Popcorn Sutton videos. I loved this one, what a breath of fresh air knowing there are true american country people like this that live off the land and have peaceful lives. No need for phones and all the modern things. :) Southern people are friendly especially in Tenn, me being from NY My mom lives in Pulaski between Knoxville and Nashville. I love visiting her!

  • I thought I would finish this video and then be saddened by all the comments below.... Suprisingly, I was not. This is not how I was raised, but it was damn close. God bless the people of the hills.

  • thanks for posting gwndfm

  • cool water filtered through coal and purified to a crisp cool taste ! yummmmmmmy

  • i wish i could live here, farm the land and raise feeder animals etc. to live clean and in balance is a real blessing....

  • most people want to work and get rich...im not rich but i want to give it all up and live the pure life like these real americans

  • That was the most satisfying 10 minutes I had today, while living my fast paced, modern, busy life. God Bless the Simple Man!

  • I've lived with folks like these fine people and they taught me alot ,they made shine made their own medicines and raised everything they ate. The folks I stayed with made their own power for lights even had a old frig that was powered by kerosene. They really knew how to treat company when they came by and u felt at home always with them. They were the biggest educators in my life, how to take nothing and make a useful tool from it.I really miss these old folks

  • I am sixty four and have always dreamed of living a life like this. My problem now is that I am in fairly poor health. I have Apnea, diabetes and Myasthenia Gravis, a disease which can weaken the muscles. It is being treated effectively but requires medicine that I might not be able to get if I lived like this. How do you manage to stay alive without medicine?

  • @gregry111

Apnea is often tied to overweight, and has a tendency to go away when you loose weight, which you will do if you live like this. But yes, a lot of modern people do not have the required health to live in a harsh environment straight away.

That is in fact one of the main issues, weak people die, and that's not very nice.

But you could do something half way inbetween - with some solar panels on the house, and a partime job as a telephone salesman, to cover medical bills.

  • @gregry111 Weed and other plant based drugs can help you survive.

  • Looks like we will all be hillbillies soon. Learn how to live off the land quick while you still have the Internet!

  • A few thing's bout us Appalachian people. We love everyone,we love our God and Bible, you can call us the dirtiest names you can think of and it rolls right off our backs,we also would give you the shirt of our backs after that too,we will also grab a gun and go fight for our country in a heartbeat.Good ol; country folk!

  • @KillingJokes97 I think you'll find more people love our cousins in Appalachia than you know!

  • @sitedezynz Say that again please?

  • I live in Appalachia and I can truly relate to this video. I am surrounded by folks just like this. For the most part, they are decent, honest folk. They/we still possess the ability to survive without needing the corporate world (save for a very few things). I love not having to ever lock my doors or leaving my keys in my truck...even when I go away. I wouldn't trade this life for anything. It's not an easy life, but it's honest.

  • This is amazing! I love this type kin! simple and happy...better than most of us I bet!

  • I enjoyed this video. Hope to meet people like this someday. Something to be said for living a simple life. That was the reddest watermelon I've ever seen. The stuff we get in Western Canada is more light red. The family that visited the gentleman were so nice to him. It's nice to see good people like that. I always say I'd rather be around nice people than uppity people any day.

  • be proud...ur family has more class then 90% a most. God Bless um with long life!

  • sorry i don't mean to be rood but what was the older fella talking about

  • The older fella was talking about a " Sled " . Down in the hills they used to use a sled to put Vegetables on to haul them up the holler.

  • i would love to live ther. just like that.

  • this is real america as far as am concernd, i live in maine, live just like this, though i do take care of myself a little better, gotta stay some what clean.

  • These are GOOD PEOPLE and they're PROUD AMERICANS without wall street or anybody else for that matter! You may see them as dirt poor people but these proud american people have more heart, loyalty, faith, and backbone then you'll ever have. They also poses the ability to live off the land. I would be real surprised if you've ever butchered anything yourself or ever grew a garden for any eatable food. Knowing the names of your local grocery store butcher or produce manager don't count!

  • @PhuckingJerk My first impression was, interestingly, what you said: good people and proud Americans. Not everyone may agree with their concept of freedom, but nobody can deny that they are their own people. How many today are beholden to this and that... Something for everyone to think about.

  • @PhuckingJerk

Speak 4 yourself,U got no right tellin' folks how I come up...

U ain't have a clue what I done or whatnot.

  • @PhuckingJerk Well Stated! Good reply/post! I'm w/ you...most people in our country don't have a clue a/b this people, their way of life and character. Yea, they're good solid people!

  • @PhuckingJerk Minds me of my kin , most of them are gone now. Where has the good life gone.

  • @PhuckingJerk Times are real bad now and you dont see these folks on tv cryen bout how things are unfair to them we just go day by day and do with what we got and if we hear of somebody that just cant make it we pull together and help what we can we dont need any of obamas foodstamps but if others do well thats them.

  • @PhuckingJerk he is missing a finger

  • @PhuckingJerk I work in a slaughter house I actually kill sheep for a living :) butchering meat is easy (like squishing a bug) unless your squeemish around blood and dead things. The hardest part is cutting the meat up correctly, in the woods you need to be quick to have a chance

  • Interesting stuff

  • @PhuckingJerk Well that's what our ruling elite has done for us, made us completely dependant on purcashing power and being able to buy things(i.e. Monsanto). Should we loose that by any chance ( which we easily could ) imagine what would happen to this world! We all think differently with empty stomachs and we be ready to do whatever it takes to ensure a survival of our family and ourselves.

  • @PhuckingJerk too right!

  • when the greedy world goes down, this is when real lifre goes on. Head for the hills and see what happens.

  • @jbeng1953 Exactly correct. Some days I think that if that happens, it will be like a huge, natural re-set button for society. Healthy thinking will equal survival. History is cyclical.

  • @jbeng1953 head for the hills, amen bro...

  • I wonder to myself if others see beyond 'just' the 'simple life', and realize that this a man of 'pure' nature and a 'good' heart-

It's the next best thing since the native americans-

Know the True Enemy of America!

  • This is real living i really love to live this life, most can't do with their cellphone and computer garbage.

  • Love it thank you

    God Bless

    Dan

  • Hillbilly is such a derogatory term. They prefer to be called Appalachian American.

  • @tobigforyou Do they get affermitive action too?????

  • @tobigforyou I'm sure you mean well by your comment, but we prefer the term 'people'. We are tax paying Americans just like you. We would never classify someone as being 'mid-west American' or 'west coast American'.

  • thank you!

  • @FreedomLover1973. I read thru comments before watching the video. When I saw your statement that Obama was stopping a pipeline from Canada to "our refineries" I had to comment. The pipeline in question runs from Canada to the port of Galveston, Tx. Never once stopping at a refinery. It's heading over seas.

  • Great video! We really enjoyed watching it. you can see some of our videos on youtube under

    Oregon Survivalist Group

  • Wow I live right in the middle

  • Not that it matters, but out of curiosity, what state were these folk residing in?

  • Man I whould like to live that simple of a life....

  • My family comes from Macon, Georgia but unfortunately moved out before I was born when my father went into the military (back in the 70's).Although my mother and her mother etc are southern born and raised they seem to take the (ignorant) yankee view and have been embarassed or just hidden it.I recently found out through nagging that my grandfather was a shiner (again sadly they don't talk about him) as was his father and so on...

  • Cont. (sorry for additiona) my Great grandfather fought with the 10th Georgia Infantry in the Civil war and it goes on and on. Why I am just finding out my heritage at mid-30's I don't know but it is horrendously sad and tragic to me. I have recently decided to pick up and carry the torch/flag (whatever you want to call it) that they threw down.I refuse to be ashamed or embarased that my blood flows south of the Mason Dixon Line.

  • This video makes me really miss home. I am from NC, but have moved to care for my mom. I truly miss those mountains.

  • A good video. I cant understand some of what the subject of the interview is saying. He reminds me of a man I met on a dirt road in South Louisiana.

This man was also kind, but goodness, I had trouble understanding him. I later found out that French does not have a TH sound where alot of English words do .

  • The best thing about this sort of life is that none of these people have ever had to listen to or deal with an internet troll. That right there is worth going your whole life without electronic gadgets.

  • These folk dont roll around in flash cars and have mansions to live in but at least Rothchilds and J.P Morgan are not their masters, they are FREE and arent slaves like you and me.

  • Keep it simple . Less stress that way.

  • These are good ole boys. Give men like these respect and you get hospitality and respect back.

  • @mcstootschris good ole' southern hospitality.

  • AMEN,from Tennessee girl, and proud of it !!!!!

  • that damn spring water is twice as pure as any evian or whatever

  • great video.

  • and here I was woriied over danged computer problems and the way things are getting so blasted complicated-----just look at the simple way those folks live and greet each new day

  • Count your blessings

  • Man this was great!

  • Thanks for posting. Those are my kind of people.

  • This is some old film.

  • They are salt of the earth people.

    Pip

  • what a cool old dude. living off the land, with a festering wound on his right hand, but he dosnt care.

  • simpler days miss it.

  • I was waiting for the kid to pull out a banjo and start playing

  • bet he has lots of stories to tell...i think they are cool people

  • very awsome

  • 1:40 to 1:45 lol what does he say?

  • @bumcheeks101 Basically he was saying that they are related (kin) and his dad was telling him how. Then Gene said they were related on the guides(?) mother's side of the family.

  • Awesome UPLOADS, These guys have ZERO modern amenities yet they are some of the most Alive, Polite, Electric in their eyes people I've ever seen. TRUE hospitality of the old world. My great grandfather told stories of mountain men who would give troops or hikers or explorers meals and drinks, People they didnt even know. Of course this was before psycho murderers and thieves. Nowadays I wouldnt let ANY stranger in my home, unless they were seriously injured or hypothermic.

  • i dont mind seein folks being humble.humble equals honesty, people like these guys wouldnt take nothing from nobody.but sure wouldnt want to live like they do.i like my tv,a/c,cars,electricy,runnin water(hot and cold),oh and my computer!but i never want a cell phone, cause i like my piece of mind from time to time(quiet time).cell phones i think people need to do without them.i think cells just stepped over the line, somehow.cant even carry on a good conversation without the damn things ringin.

  • i would love to live gene's life. i can't stand the city life

  • most folks, city types in particular are better off stayin away from this kind of roughing it style of living. it demands major adjustments that are often a shock to the system and not to be taken lightly.so please no candyassess or popcorn farts need apply!

  • I'm Brasilian guy,,,, I felt like my country 40 years ago . I missed this kind live somuch

  • Amazing stuff. A tough life but fascinating viewing!

  • This guy knows the wealth around us.

  • All my best to Gene, and all, from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas.

  • You can see Gene's cataracts pretty easy towards the end

  • these dudes know what the hell is going on..they will survive...

  • I always enjoy visiting this site and takes me back to my youth. I have wrote a new song some might enjoy and sing around the campfires...HILLS OF KENTUCKY_harlan county coal mines.......bout the miners in Appalachian and the fine folks of Harlan Country Kentucky...just click the bluemoongrass link to listen to the new song

  • Wow... This brings back memories from over 20 years ago of time spent up in the mountains. Though I never met a person like this guy. But this video is like going back in time.

  • Man, this is one of the neatest things that I've seen. The guy who talks the most (blind, maybe?) could probably sell some wood stuff at a local market for some extra cash.

  • I was born and raised in the south (Tennessee) and Im darn proud of it...these folks in the video are the foundation of how our country used to be,,,thanks for making this video series :)

  • @apathy24 That's right ! I'm a Kentuckian by birth through no chose of my own of course , But i'm still glad for my birth .I thank God everyday.

  • Sure did like this video reminds me of how it used to be .

  • Thats the real life no damb bill collectors banging on your door every five minutes ,Grampa`s old place at the head of the bed if ya dropped a marble it would beat ya to the front door 20 ft away frost heave pushed the floor up .

  • I grew up in Nashville, just wanted to say: I couldn't help but watch this entire series. Even though these people would probably be uncomfortable with someone like me (I'm of Bangladeshi decent,) I think they're good people. 2:00 - 2:35 That's just some great, good-hearted humor. You wouldn't believe how much similarity there is between them and the people from my Dad's village in Bangladesh. We visited one time a while back, and I felt just like Jesse from the video. Thanks for the video!

  • A dying breed. nothing like Appalachia and its people. Thanks for posting

  • Thanks for sharing, lovely piece, i wondered what Gene had in the pocket, an axe?

  • these videos were so good. ahhh the simple life :)

  • Ive spent months in the TN valley and it seems real similar to this.brings me back

  • i wish i could escape to there, so peaceful

  • i don't really mind the way things are going on in the US today, but i wouldn't exactly mind being born into this lifestyle either

  • thanks of letting us know that there are still pepole out there that care for others

  • @31bevis AMEIN

  • When money and materialism no longer is society's god, this is how we will live. Back to the way of our ancestors, when life was simple and beautiful. Very inspirational, and we should all be paying attention here, as this shows a way beyond the destructive "modernized" structured and indoctrinated society we have been programmed to conform with. Absolutely awesome.

  • @dudecummon I feel that you are right. It will be like a giant "reset" button for society. And, once the pain of adjustment is over, it won't be as bad as we think.

  • Nothing wrong with liveing from day to day, it's when you get "aquired things" then things start owning you, it's not uncommon that's the way that everyone uset to live back in the early days in this country in cabons dotted round this country, now we got automobiles, citys, and these people are happy just liveing day to day. Sad to think how the home they live in when there gone will fall apart and become back to wich it came, amen my mtn brothers

  • Loved this video, got family raised in Madison county N.C..Grand parents and Great grand parents.

  • I so enjoyed this video thanks for sharing

  • Good to see that not all is lost, but makes you wonder how long this can last. Shame to see that sort of living vanish.

  • I really enjoyed this video. I believe the old ways are the best ways...too much modern technology spoils folks! (of course, the irony of that statement is the fact that I am using a computer to watch these vids and post these comments!LOL). keep the vidoes coming!!

  • @lonwlf68 Absolutely true, i've thought of this much. If I were to clean up humanity and leave only the self reliant like these ones to continue roam the earth, I myself would not pass the test.

  • sure did enjoy theses vidios thnx god bless

  • We Igorots in the Philippines used to live like that, although we have rice paddies on the backyard and fruit trees. We were not so much influenced by Spanish but by Americans when you colonize us from 1900-45. We love country music. We wear jeans, and long sleeves shirt like that. We have animals that have food on the fields like goats, pigs, cows, water buffalo, chickens and others. My neighbors get money by selling the animal or any fruits so they can go to groceries. Nice Video.

  • I really enjoyed this video, I think they have more fun and better lives than we do, lol.

  • dam i thought i was country

  • @lllwuk6 no kiddin man...... this is real country....

  • This is just one GOOD OL'E BOY right here awsome footage thanks this has been a pleasure to watch. matter of fact i'm gonna show my grandpaw this he'd love it. where all from the south born and raised but them moutian men are tough. like i said GOOD OL'E BOYS !! GOD BLESS & Thanks again for sharing this. brings alot of memories back for Me.

  • try puttin salt on a RAW potato

    yummy..and on tomatoes too

  • I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS VIDEO ALOT SEEM LIKE THEY ARE VERY NICE PEOPLE. HAVE YOU BEEN THERE LATLEY. WHEN I WAS YOUNGER I HAD A GREAT UNCLE WHO LIVED LIKE THAT IT REMINDED ME SO MUCH OF HIS PLACE. I USED TO GO THERE WITH MY GRANDMA OR MY UNCLES WOULD TAKE ME THERE. HE HAD CHICKENS, A DONKEY,SOME PIGS,RABBITS. HE PASSED AWAY IN I THINK 1985 THOUGH I MISS HIM AND I MISS GOING THERE.

  • Thank you for posting this. I am from eastern KY and this reminds me of some of my family. You will never find a friendlier or more generous group of people than good ole country folks.

  • Thank you for finally showing REAL Appalachian folks as they are - not white trash, but simple people who don't NEED computers, plasma screen TVs, cell phones, etc. because they are happy with what they've got. All these documentaries portray people like my extended family as destitute...and they are the happiest people I have ever known. This is the only video I've seen yet that is the truth. Thank you!

  • im from duffield, virginia.. deep southwest appalachain mountains. this reminds me of my family :) just good ole country people. loving this!

  • Good stuff! Reminds me of how some of my family grew up, there all dieing off bout now though. Agh, to live the simple life. These brothers part of your family? Ever go back and buy that sleigh off of them?

  • I envy these people. My life is so superficial and unwholesome compared to them.

  • These guys are the last of a dying breed, Kids born in forty fifty years will think it a fairy tale that anyone lived like that in this day and age! Its a shame. There are plenty ppl would go back to it if they knew how but the knowledge is dying out and ppl dnt really know how anymore. Its a sad thing but at least we get to share a lil glimpse of what is possible!

  • These people are super cool... they don't have need for pollution, prozac and all the bullshit of modernity. Their source of water is a natural spring and I can assure you it is better for you than any municipal water source (or bottled).

  • @AguilaEmplumada One can only hope that some gas drilling company does not set up nearby and pump the groundwater full of fracking chemicals.

  • @milnoid We don't need your leftist politics down here. Thank you very much. Enjoy the upload, but keep your politics to yourself.

  • @FreedomLover1973 Not a single resident of Clearville, PA -- their township poisoned by fracking -- would call themselves a "leftist". Call people names, or stick your head in the sand if you want too, but your suggestion to keep quiet is respectfully rejected.

  • @milnoid FRACKING, huh? This wouldn't have anything to do with Obama pandering to the left, because of the upcoming election, and stopping the construction of the oil pipeline from Canada, would it? I know why you posted that comment, when this upload had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with fracking, and @ a time when Obama is pandering to his base (ppl like you). So yeah, keep your Leftist, socialistic politics to yourself, or post them on a POLITICAL upload.

  • @FreedomLover1973 I know nothing about the Canada oil pipeline, and I did not vote for Obama. I know only about the poisoning of the groundwater in my own rural community, which is much like that in the video. That you equate environmental protection with "leftist, socialistic" says more about *your* agenda than mine. And of course I'll say what I want, where I want to say it.

  • @milnoid Fucking LIAR! Of course you are free to say what you want, where you want and I can't stop you. Just don't come on here and CRY, and LIE, when I destroy you at your own game. That's all.

  • @FreedomLover1973 You have no basis to accuse me of lying. It's far more likely you're some kind of misanthropic crank attracted to ultra-right-wing conspiracy theories. Good luck with that. The simple inescapable truth is that the way of life depicted in this video is under threat by resource extraction throughout Appalachia. HUNDREDS of communities are now coping with poisoned water from fracking, and none have the power to stop it. But you'll never suppress the truth by screaming.
