@Meatbag211, You will perish because we either believe or we don't. A believer accepts Christ as their savior and follows him and his teachings. Christians are not perfect, but forgiven. We stumble make mistakes, if we fail to read our Bible and pray. Everything is through Christ not ourselves. Reading the Bible is not enough if you don't accept it. It leads you to the truth, but you need to study it. Ask God himself to reveal what you don't understand. Trust him to help you.

@Meatbag211, It isn't that faith is so important to God, but it is to us. There are a few verses in the Bible that speak of faith, but they are of Jesus telling his people to have faith. The one I like is Matthew 17:20. This is a parable again though. An example of what a very small amount of faith can do for the believer. Jesus refers to having faith the size of a mustard seed. Tiny because a mustard seed could fit on top of a pinhead. Seems we don't need much and again Christ doesn't ask much.

Please use you brain for a minute - what would be the point of saying "pray to me even though you know I'm not being serious and I won't do anything to help you"? The reason you call it a parable is because prayer doesn't work. Christians spend their whole lives making excuses for God and that's exactly what you're doing. Every person will have a chance to accept Christ as their savior. If they do they have eternal life. If not, they don't. We stumble make mistakes, if we fail to read our Bible and pray. Everything is through Christ not ourselves. Reading the Bible is not enough if you don't accept it. It leads you to the truth, but you need to study it. Ask God himself to reveal what you don't understand. Trust him to help you.

@Meatbag211, It isn't that faith is so important to God, but it is to us. There are a few verses in the Bible that speak of faith, but they are of Jesus telling his people to have faith. The one I like is Matthew 17:20. This is a parable again though. An example of what a very small amount of faith can do for the believer. Jesus refers to having faith the size of a mustard seed. Tiny because a mustard seed could fit on top of a pinhead. Seems we don't need much and again Christ doesn't ask much.

If I were to take a medicine from a doctor, and the doctor said that while I take the medicine I had to believe that socks were alive in order for the cure to work, a question of why would not be out of order.
