  • YES! That is the famed Anita Kerr singers, from left to right, Gil Wright, Anita Kerr, Dottie Dillard, and Louis Nunley. They were on many hit records, like Jim Reeves' "He'll Have To Go" and toured with him in Europe. They got their start on Arthur Godfrey's radio show in NY and were THE backing group in Nashville. They are all still alive, Louis now sings with the Jordanaires.

  • the lady on the left looks like anita kerr, wonder if that's her

  • I would love to find some more clips of the Ozark Jubilee. Little Billie Joe played on several episodes when he was about 7 years old before he broke both arms to end his "career" on the show. He is my dad and I would love to find some old clips for him for Christmas -- and for ME!

  • I believe those are the Anita Kerr singers on the backup vocal.

  • That is correct. I wonder what happened to them.

  • Wish they would turn the volume up on Red Foley's videoes. I could enjoy them more.

  • Red Foley sang a gospel song that went something like this:

Now don't be weeping becausing I'm leaving

And don't cry when I say good by, there'll be no weeping

where I'm going to my mansion in the sky.

For the life of me, I cannot recall the name of the song or the other verses.

  • Red Foley had such a pleasant and smooth voice. This beautiful song is one of my favorites. I have always loved Red's style and also watched "Ozark Jubilee" years ago. Red died so young and I do thank you for posting his videos. That way he will never be gone from us. - Paula

  • Another thanks to BOBFORDD. I grew up on a farm near Springfield in the 50s and watched the Ozark Jubilee on our old black & white TV and listened to KWTO radio.

  • I also listened to KWTO (AM 560) in the 50s (I think is still there) and watched KY3 tv programs in the late 50s. When I could I went to the Jewel theatre in Springfield to watch the Ozark Jubilee and then to the Landers theatre when it moved there after Red Foley left the show.

If you would like more of the Ozark Jubilee, I will send you a video of several shows, no cost. Just send me your address.
