Wow, thank you for this video. I only discovered the Philippe Jaroussky a few days ago and I'm now rediscovering baroque. Previously I liked mostly the instrumental pieces but now also the sung parts, especially when they're sounding with such wonderful voices.
@JaRoWi1647 OMG, there is nothing to appologize. We need to thank you for posting this amazing video. It went directly to my favorites! Thanks and many greatings from Germany.
WOW, Bach's Magnificat and Jaroussky. Bach has not been in Jaroussky's repertoire as Handel or earlier baroque composers have, specially since Bach is one of the latest composer of that period. I'm very glad Jaroussky has ventured to try Bach. Could you please share the Characteristics of the recording with us?. Thanks for posting JaroWi1647
i chose this after boring search for a video link to send, as a visual compliment to a cd i burned a novice--because THIS RENDITION IS THE BEST & closest to my cd by the choir of new college, oxford~conducted by EDWARD HIGGINBOTHAM --no small feat!. then, i searched in vain for more jaroussky's bach-- ''esurientes implevit bonis'', ''bereite dich zion'', ''et extultavit''. fear not, philippe...if this performance is any indication, you'll nail bach's magnificat...well, maybe not bass.
This is the first time which I hear Philippe Jaroussky singer for J.S.Bach cos he always sing for Handel and Vivaldi but I'm sure he splendid voice indeed in this piece
You don´t need to apologize...You give us the opportunity not only of listening the beloved Philippe's voice again but contemplating beautiful paintings (and hands!!). Thanks! The best way to start 2009!
Un grand merci ce fut un pur moment de bonheur d'entendre des voix parfaites pour J S BACH
