I've heard more crap talked about rodeo than about anything outside of economics - most of it by townies like me, who know even less about animals than I do. I'm not sure which is funnier: the people who think that the horses are all stallions, or the people who think somebody wraps a strap around a bulls testicles in the chute. (How much would you have to pay that guy?)
You're entitled to make up your own mind. You're not entitled to make up your own facts.
Little do you know or might know...they abuse alot of rodeo animals...for instance, they jolt the horses just before they go in the ring with high voltage to aggrivate them, that a form of abuse. Also roping baby calfs just doesnt seem right...they r babies....so if you can watch that and u feel ok with all of that....I feel sorry for you who may not have a heart of compassion for these animals. just sayin not to be rude.
@kstar75 this is America the land of the free. Just because you don't agree doesn't give you the right to condemn it. There are many things I don't agree with but as long as it doesn't have any effect on my safety or my individual freedom, I wouldn't condemn it. To each his own. If we start labeling things we'll all only exceed in abolishing each others personal freedom.
I don't think the abuse of an animal, to which God gave us dominion, warrants much attention when children are abused. Focus on real issues...not targeting a video of a sport you disagree with.
Also, calfs have thick hide. I'm not saying it is fun for them but they are far from brutalized when roped.
Also, I'm blocking you as to not drown this video with negative comments. Contact me on my blog if you want to discuss real issues.
@johncblandii I do think they should stop using calfs and yes, there is abuse. Maybe not on all rodeos (I hope, because I do want to attend one), that's reality. And we should stop the abuse. That doesn't mean rodeos should be forbidden, heck, then all horse competitions should be forbidden! (I am a horseperson).
Your perception is very misconstrued and I would be happy to elaborate further on any other concerns you may have. Bucking horse do not get hot shocked to buck, Roping is a tool in the livestock industry that test range skill in the arena. In all actuality rodeo stock are some of the best taken care of animals there are. I can elaborate further, just ask.

@inwe1205 I'm sure there is abuse of some kind at some rodeos but the rodeos I attend do right by the calves.

@johncblandii I hope they do and if they do, like you wrote, I can only love that fact.

The rodeo animals are some of the most exspensive animals in the U.S. and are well cared for.

Im sorry but I think your sport is inhumane...the animal cruelty that happens within the PRCA is wrong.

@kstar75 1) it isn't my sport. I simply attended the rodeo. 2) don't watch if you don't like it.
I don't mean to be rude. It is simply the truth.
