Why not actually listen to something that sounds folky or Viking based whilst playing Skyrim, such as Ensiferum's "From Afar", "Iron" or "Sword Chant" (or any of their songs for that matter). They would go with Skyrim much better than this, they have that heroic Viking fantasy sound. Maybe whilst down in a cave hacking at goblins, you could blast out "Goblins Dance". Now that would be EPIC in my book!! :)

why are people bringing up Metallica and Slayer? The Sword sounds nothing like either of them, nor are they in the same metal subgenre. if you were to compare them to anything, i would think Sabbath or something, but not Metallica or Slayer.

You gotta love how many people try to paint the Sword as Hipster Metal..... I've been banging my head since 1985, and when I first heard these guys it was a majorly needed breath of fresh air. Like High on Fire and other great bands they aren't trying to be Retro Black Sabbath.. they are just playing the Metal they love, and sounding great doing it. Saw them open for Metallica, and they were 10x better than DOWN and Phil's drugged out punk crap.

@adamw7641 Not gonna deny that the Swords output is better than Metallica's modern stuff, but one can't overlook their first 5, and what it means to metal, or how good Metallica is live still. I've been to over 200 concerts in the past 25 years and NONE have been better than a good Metallica show (not the by the motions crap for Load and ReLoad), not even my favorite band, Iron Maiden.

@adamw7641 sadly.. Slayer has not done it like Slayer in 20 years now either. Everything post Seasons is as formulaic and by the numbers as what the rest of the Big 4 has done since then. Sad truth is NONE of them have been relevant since about 1990 - 9991.

@killerpeaches7 did you forget about Megadeth? the only band out of the 4 that can still make amazing face shredding albums. Slayer doesn't do it anymore, Anthrax was never that great to me, and Metallica obviously hasn't put out a GOOD album since And Justice For All. Megadeth made Rust In Peace in '90, Countdown in '92, Cryptic Writings in '97, and from '04 to now they have put out solid records. They had their flops in the 90's but only with a couple albums.

@archadia212 Ummm.. No I did not. "This Album is a Zero" and "United Abortions" were average, at best. Cryptic Writings (Or Mustaine writes Load 2.0) was OK, but not great. Endgame had the potential..up until Dave opened his mouth, and you realized he has not anger left. His vocals were limp and unconvincing, and ruined what WOULD have been a great album from Megadeth. Like the rest, tehy set the bar way ahead of what they can make now.

I love the feeling and soulfulness behind The Sword's music. It's so deep and fascinating; their albums are like a J.R.R. Tolkien novel. They really make you feel like you're a part of the subject matter, and that you are IN the music, not a passive bystander. They suck you in, and you stay in. They're almost a force, really.
