@balkancoolhead The word Epirus('Ηπειρος) and Pyrrhos(Πύρρος) have no etymological connection.The first one means continent while its first meaning at ancient Greek was dry land (ήπειρος<άπερος<Indo-european apero).The second word Pyrrhus(Πύρρος) as a name comes from the word pyrros(πυρρός=having the colour of fire) wich itself comes from the Greek word for fire pyr(πύρ).The Epirus region was no inhabited by Illyrians in antiquity by the way.There are recorded invasions of them although.
