Yes, all foods should be prepared in fluoride-free water. Sadly RO water is not. Some filters claim to remove it but tests show they fail well before their alleged usable life.

@davidkennedydds I think people are very ignorant about this subject. We are getting fluoride everywhere we turn. In toothpaste, medicines, drinking water, shower/bath water. Distilling or reverse osmosis is really the only way to get it out of the water. We need to write to our water boards and insist that they stop drugging us. You can't purchase fluoride without a prescription, except for in toothpaste, what makes it okay to drug us without our permission? Let's fight this!

I certainly agree. When you see how the Japanese reacted to a tiny bit more radiation in the tap water than is good for the baby they freaked out. In the US even the CDC admits tap water with fluoride will,poison a baby but so what lots of things are bad so what if we give the babies a little more than they can stand.

it is good for industry and they have so much to get rid of especially China, Japan and Mexico where they don't put it in their drinking water.

The FDA responded to a congressional investigation in 2000 that fluoride is a drug and no fluoride intended to be ingested has ever been approved by the FDA for the purpose of reducing tooth decay. That makes fluoride an unapproved drug to boot.

Now the real key is they aren't even using fluoride but rather a very complicated man-made molecule called hydrofluosilicic acid that extracts lead from anything and sucks it into the children and adults alike.

What we are desperately looking for is a prisoner in Donovan Men's Correctional Center here in Eastern San Diego to join in a citizens lawsuit against the MET.

Donovan gets 100% of their water from MET.

Prisoner because the court can't just say, "Move to another city".

We will be switching to a different filter, then alkalizing. Or possibly the store purified water - that is reverse osmosis and carbon filtered. When filtering our water, I do notice yellowish-orange particles, I wish I knew of a lab to go get that matter tested, to see what it is. I currently use a fine cloth and a very fine coffee filter, which takes care of all contamination - to the naked eye.

There are many good water labs that can test water. Carbon does nothing to remove fluoride but helps remove some fo the other junk in drinking water like chlorine.

Opposites attract and since F is negative I don't think another negative will attract F.

Steam distillers will reliably remove 100% of fluoride. RO only reduces it and after a short time the membranes become porous due to the corrosive nature of fluoride so they quickly loose their ability to effectively produce safe water. Some commercial RO does better than home ones. If you go RO get a ion or colorimeter F tester and carefully monitor the water. Sadly few systems are big enough for showers.

Shaler, a municipality in Pittsburgh has been staunchly fluoride free for many years now. I spoke to three municipal workers today and all of them are unabashedly opposed to fluoride. It was encouraging to hear the administrative assistant say "NO THAT'S POISON!" The water dept head is concerned about a the new Water Wellness Bill being proposed. What's that all about Alfie? My community will continue to add fluoride

In PA once fluoride is added to the water supply it cannot be stopped.

I contacted my so called "state representative" Tim Murphy here in Pennsylvania. Elected officials are becoming immune to letter writing and email campaigns I expect. No word of any follow up on his part, just a polite letter from him expressing his feigned interest and appreciation of my alerting him of this issue.

Sadly even RO doesn't effectively remove hydrofluosilicic acid. Yes when new the membranes will lower the content but not remove it entirely. Shortly though the membranes become eaten by the acid and most if not all gets through.

The cost of removing fluoride is easily 10 times the cost of adding it. So by using our public water supply as a disposal sight for hazardous waste we all suffer either injury or economically.

You know how Eodney dDangerfield "Gets no respect?" Well for years I've been telling my sister-in-law that F in drinking water is bad but they don't drink the tap water. Just coffee, tea, soup, lemonade, and a lot of other sips.

Well she finally got my message and decided to use distilled water for all drinking and cooking and avoid contact with tap water entirely. Her bad back improved dramatically and she's stopped taking any Celebrex.

I am so stiff from aching joints that I have to swallow pain killers in order to get moving in the mornings, and take another dose later in the day to help again. Hope they don't wreck my kidneys. Myola123: If you are having problems with joints due to arthritis I would highly recommend fermented or high vitamin cod liver oil. Your sources in Aus are Melrose cod liver oil or Green Pastures (Aus).

How has the distilled water helped? I thought Australia and NZ would be fluoride free easily. I discovered today that they weren't. Apparently Venezuela, Japan, Germany and Uruguay are the only places known to be at fluoride free countries.

Actually many more are countries like Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark in fact the whole of Europe is fluoride-free at least from added fluoride except one experiment in Spain. In Italy there are local areas with natural fluoride. One is called Black Tooth. Guess what happens to the children raised in that community.

You need to find a doctor who does know about fluoride poisoning then, but good luck with that as most doctors are clueless about it and don't even make a connection when their patients present with any fluoride toxicity symptoms. They might diagnose your disorder, but they never look for the cause.

Foods to avoid? Anything grown in fluoridated areas. Good luck with that too as Australia is about to become totally fluoridated due to Gov mandation [forcing] of the last unfluoridated State!

I will ask the people involved with the anti fluoride campaign for a Doctor who knows about F. poisoning. As for finding food not grown in F. areas - that will be a problem as most places have fluoridated water. I am worried that our bodies can absorb the F. from bathing. I have no idea how my F level got to be so high, except I used to use F. toothpaste which, of course, I don't any more. If Angina tablets can be absorbed into the system from under the tongue, why can't F. in toothpaste.

Yes the Metropolitan Water District is currently adding tons of hydrofluosilicic acid to Southern California' water. First 5 which is suppose to care about children has voted to spend million$ more just harm to babies and they are lying about the safety.

I contacted First 5's L.A. hotline where they give advice to parents. The family expert was always busy & referred me to WIC.

So I called WIC and was told they recommend making infant formula with tap water !!!! - fluoridation did not matter.

Unfortunately Rusty there is no such thing. Once the fluoride is added to water it is extremely difficult if not impossible to get out with any kind of filtration device presently available.

Oh I know there are many companies with advertisements that claim their product will do the impossible but just ask them for the testing at the end of the supposed life of the filter that shows the F level reduction. Generally is is close to no change at all.

The only big change is in your wallet.

It has been 9 months since this presentation was made to the responsible parties at the Metropolitan Water District. We are now raising funds to take this argument to hopefully the final trial.

Three different courts have determined that this practice is harmful yet it continues.

It is time to solve the question, "Do we citizens have a right to be free from bodily intrusion with an arsenic contaminated drug that has never been approved by the FDA to be ingested?

An excellent article by Dan Stockin regarding the disproportionate harm that fluoride in drinking water has caused. Black children suffer twice as much dental fluorosis as White. Black children have a six fold, YES 600% increase in blood lead levels while White children suffer a 100% increase from hydrofluosilicic acid (raw untreated arsenic contaminated hazardous waste from the phosphate mining industry) added in the name of dental health.

That make the fluoridation policy discriminatory.

The LA Times is preparing an article about the successful campaign to fluoridate all water in the US. And how people have come to accept F in their drinking water now after 60 years of controversy. This occurs just at the same time it has been proven beyond question to harm babies. Why aren't more people concerned about the future of our children?

Yes I do know that is is not fluoride being added to our public drinking water. In the Escondido case the CA Dept. Health stipulated (No argument) that the product being used is contaminated with arsenic. Measurements of the product find levels of arsenic sufficient to cause an additional cancer of bladder or lung per 1500 lifetime water users.
