Quick question, Does the GoPro have to be used as an action camera, or can it be used on say a vacation, or sitting on a tripod filming the racetrack? I'm just wondering if this camera will really do everything i would want.

Of course, go pro even makes an LCD moniter that plugs into the back of the camera so you can see where the camera is aimed as you film/photograph. I don't think you can mount it to a tripod though, unless you do something creative :D

So the Go Pro would be perfect for shooting POVs of roller coasters and carnival rides. Do the head and chest straps come with the camera?

I suggest the manufacturer should work with some industrial design consultant simply because it look extremely awful, to be honest. If this product is to be on sale in Asia or Europe, it would have little more than no success. In terms of functionality , this product is extremely good.

@asutn I like the sturdy no-nonsense look to it, I'd buy that over a flashy looking camera any day. The fact it's so plain tells me it's marketed at people who need reliability and durability instead of something "cool" that's going to break down or have to be sent back countless times.

@276ssi123 anything. But prefer Sony Vegas because it's simpler than Adobe After Effect. Plus SV has video stabilizer if your footage is too shaky

@276ssi123 If you work on a PC I go for Adobe Premiere Pro. If you use a Mac use Final Cut Pro. After Effects is a visual effects program.

I won't be shooting action sports or underwater, all I would buy it for is the wide angle lens. I film construction equipment, is it worth to buy? I already have 3 HD camera so I won't really be buying for the HD.
