About your questions, well, i first have to understand what you ment.

the second one means making amazing leads? like how would u make a great lead?

the third one means that, for instance, if u had a synth effect for instance, after it played, u could stil hear it in the background as if it were echoing

Well, "develop" could be a filter envelope or complex synth texturing. If you just want the sound to raise in volume you can follow the instruction on my third video (automations).

You can set automation even from the main playlist scene (clip menu -> "set automation").

"a great lead" is not an universal definition, i'm sorry :P

3: I think you're talking about the delay effect (is different from the echo one), simply apply that one, every sequencer has its own.

I really got great bass sounds just using the TS404 that comes with FL. Most of the trick is in the Parametric EQ and pulse width. There are lot of tutorials from where you can learn, like this great tut.

@InteligentDezygn like the OP said you can either automate the volume of the sound so that it fades in OR you can look in your synth's options and increase the filter envelope's "attack" value to something higher. you'll notice that when you play the synth with the attack high it fades in instead of playing at full volume right away.

for your second question, leads usually have a low attack and are higher pitched than your bassline with a different waveform. mess around with presets at first

Pretty good but it's bit to fast, that nice trance groove is gone now. Their should be some consistency in the beat and when you go to high Bmp you loose that. Stay around 140-143 for trance if you ask me.

Regarding the 808..Arthur Baker himself said "a great instrument does not date...808's sound as fresh now as they did in the 80's".

Consequently, he says that the yamaha dx-7 hasn't aged well at all..and that it sounded like shit back then as well.

If it sounded good then, it would still be good now..but it was a gimmicky instrument, as was FM synthesis overall.

pianos and guitars are instruments like the voices/oscillators of a synthesizer. The way these instruments have been played through out time evolves and gets technically more impressive and complex. If you look at the progression of synthesized music throughout the last 50 years you will see that.

I am not saying the synths (pianos and guitars) and out of date merely the way that they are used.

The Prodigy for example is still fresh through composition but the sounds are rarely used today.

"Fashionable" doesn't mean anything to anybody other than the person saying it.

Not too long ago, 808 sounds were called "dated"..and here we are in 2009, and EVERY pop/rap/r & b production has 808 drums all over it!!!

A good sound is useable forever....and if people want to use them, they do not have to use them "differently"..they can use them the same tried & true ways they've worked in the past.

fashion dictates alot in the stylistic properties of music, right now the 80s is popular and so 808 drum sounds are. the reason is because they define the time period of the 80s ... one thing you will notice is the levels of production have dramatically advanced so they sound cleaner and crisper. Its not the saw he is using but the fact it doesnt meet the production levels expected from modern music especially as its psytrance.this may not be an example of his best work

I have not heard a single song by any artist that sounds as crisp, warm, or vibrant as a good old mid 80's r & b or pop record.

Everything today is mixed like a demo. The vocals have no FX on them, and the instruments are mixed waaaay into the background, leaving only the kick and snare way up front and DRY.

Today's productions sound like shit.

its true but you mind cannot help but to place certain sounds with certain eras of music. Production techniques today are incredible i'm sorry you are listening to the wrong music. I dont listen to pop that often as i don't watch television but i have over 2TB worth of music, alot of which not released widely not to mention the vinyl, tapes :S and cds i have accumulated.

Kaynye west is not Rhythm and blues R&B it is a bastard child of pop culture which has very few tenuous lins to true r&b
