This one's pretty cool, but for some reason it doesn't give you that "ohhhhhh shit" moment like when the horns fold out of the head, the eyes flash, and the lightning crackles over the body. Not to mention the "Megazord Activated" at the end. How is the kid in me supposed to know it's actually ready to throw down? :-D

When I was a kid, I always thought it was a little odd that the Tyrannosaur and Mastodon Dinozords could run at the same speed as the other three, given that a real Tyrannosaur and Mastodon were likely somewhat slower than real Sabretooth Tigers, Pterodactyls and Triceratops.

But then I thought, "ZOMGGIANTROBOTSAWESOME!!!!!1!­!11!11!!1ONEONE"

In fact, the Zords were the WHOLE reason I ever became a Power Rangers fan when I was a kid.

@dbrockbassoon it became a shield when the megazord battled. the rangers hardly used it but was used. in the episode tommy was the evil green ranger jason was sent to the dark demension zack took the lead as the leader they called the zords and tommy used the sword of darkness against them and zack called on the mastadon sheild to block the sword attack. hope this helps.

one thing i could never figure out is WHERE on these zords are the cockpits supposed to be? i know the megazord has them all inside the head but what about separate? that goes for the ninjazords too

I always figured they'd be kept in the place that would make the Zords most efficient.

Given that the Tyrannosaur's head is also the Megazord's head, his cockpit is likely situated there.

The Pterodactyl's cockpit would have to be wherever would grant the Pink Ranger most visibility in-flight, so it's safe to say that's also likely in the head.

The same could probably be said of the Sabretooth Tiger, Mastodon and Triceratops.

@scorchx3000 That kinda makes sense from the standpoint of visibility, but it doesn't make any practical combat sense. If those really were windows, then that's basically one big weak-spot. Given how much punishment the thing takes in that location on a daily basis, it's not a practical standpoint in a battle.

I figured the main cockpit was in the head, and that the eyes acted as cameras, giving them feedback inside.

Kinda like a Gundam cockpit, only inside the head instead.

@scorchx3000 Celdrach is right that the cockpit is in the head. I used to think it was in the chest too until I looked closely at the parts where it shows them sitting inside, and the surrounding looks like megazord's head, except his eyes are now see-through instead of yellow.

The show is full of inconsistencies though. If you look at the first episode, you'll see that when they show them in the cockpit the surrounding head is different, from entirely different megazords all in the same show

@Mzrc10 well it disconnects and reconnects in a different way. Im not exactly sure how it works but it looks like parts of the mastadon become the megazord's arms. the head of the mastadon is rarely seen, but it's used as a shield. not sure where it goes when it's not being used lol.
