This car was a complete copy of the Daewoo Matiz. The doors are completely interchangable between the Daewoo and Chery. This sums up Chinese business rather well. why bother wasting profit designing a car? just steal a design from a foreign competitor and make it even more cheaply. Who cares if the result is more dangerous and less reliable than the original. China's lax patent and copyright laws will come back to bite it once it tries to export domestically designed cars.

Go look at crash test video for 1992 Honda Civic and you'll see what I mean. It's only recenlty that both Japanese and Korean cars improved in crash tests. Chinese auto industry is still in its early stage so it's only matter of time they improve their quality.

I saw these cars last month in Davao Philippines, Not Bad! Very nice, and cheep. the people who owned them were so proud of the fact they now had a new car, the major factor is that you must respect and take care of these little cars, and they will do the same for you.Unlike a toyota, you can't drive the shit out of them and just expect they will keep taking the abuse.
