I seen this when I was 6 or 7 and it scared the crapp out of me.And I had seen a lot of horror movies at that age, my brother and sister were teens then and they always watched horror movies.
I was five when my Dad took me to see this movie... scared the shit outta me! Why would you take a five year old to see a horror movie?!? My Dad's an asshole... smh.
Yep, when I was a kid this movie wad title Mausoleum,I remember it because most scary movies did not contain any black cast, I remember the black girl and saying to myself " there's a black girl in this" in a scary movie that was rare to see black people, being black myself, I thought it was great.
I just love the 70's & 80's. They knew what horror meant . I can't remember when I seen a good horror movie it's been so long. Nothing is scary no more. They always tryna turn a horror movie into comedy. I sure miss the 70's & 80's.
@andreadabelizean Try Haute Tension ( High Tension). It's full on. Gotta a blonde girl with a chainsaw on the dvd cover. Unusual & good.Definitely NOT a comedy.
Guys this movie was the scariest movie , I have ever seen , I have seen it , in 1987 in the night , I have seen this movie , I was alone in my home and a big earth quake was happened 6 richter during seeing the movie.
But , it was in the scene when the mausoleum brakes and one skeleton goes out and in this time during suspense of the movie , I didn't scared by earth quake , but by the skeleton.
I remember seeing this on TV when I was a kid and it freaked me out. I remember literally gagging when one of the characters shoved her foot into one of the bodies (or was it her fist) and all this ooze and stuff came out. So gross. You gotta love it. Now I think I would handle it better. I appreciate horror a lot more now.
This reminds me of a website, that's no longer up, called 'Masusoleum Problems'. Apparently, the shutters CAN blow off, if a fermenting cadaver in a 'sealer' casket bursts. There have actually been lawsuits over this...
Here in Calgary, the Queen's Park Mausoleum stinks to high Heaven, even in the winter. Downwind, you can smell the ventillation exhaust. They've added a THIRD, multistory section onto the complex. (A guy from the City told me they "fixed the mistakes [they] made, last time.")
I love the feel of the movie and a lot of others from that era in that genre. The man who played the ex boyfriend of the blonde is deceased. Released in the uk as the entity force.
see, why don't they remake this movie? I think they could make this one good if they tried. Instead, they make REAL classic films, and you just can't compare and better a classic.
That's such a great idea! I hope someone will. I was 13 when this came out and it scared the hell out of me. Even now, watching this trailer, I remember just how freaked out I was LOL. Fantastic movie, seriously creepy.
This movie scared the shit out me when I was little, them dead dudes floating in the darkness and when the Dr. finally cruised on out with that lightning shooting out his eyes!
What! Definately got to get this in my collection!
this is one of those rare pg movies from back in the day that was scary i mean back than if a horror movie come out with a pg rating nobody really went go to see it because it couldn't have been to scary but this movie prove everybody wrong it was a very good movie
ok i hear u but u can't say i'm wrong just because i think one way and you think another those movies may have scared you but they didn't scare me they were good movies don't get me wrong they just wasn't scary to me, thanx for your reply to my comment tho'
The dead people sliding down the dark hall, the sister with the tooth brush the huge mausoleum. Those are the things I remember as a young child, damn I wish I 11 again.
Dam right! I bought this DVD a couple of years ago. They kept pushing back the release date and it pissed me off. Finally, the 2DVD set was released and added to my collection.
No horror film collection is complete without this!
This movie gave me nightmares as a kid as well, I still get the chills when I see any footage at all. I agree the trailer doesn't do it justice. It's a great classic. Just don't watch it alone! LOL :P
Movie is awsome scared the hell out of me as a young boy when I caught it on the old TBS Super Scarey Saturdays at midnight I was too young to have seen it it gave me nightmares & left disturbing images in my head I will never forgot those corpses!
This is a great movie! Thank you for posting the trailer. I dont think it does the film justice, but its fun for the fans to see. I wish they used the music from the cemetery sequence in the film. CREEPY!
Man oh man, I used to watch this on TV every chance I got back in the early '80s. Yes, the feet dragging across the floor was VERY creepy! The movie was great on atmosphere! Wish there were more clips uploaded of this movie!

You're wrong. Back then, there were movies rated less than R that are scarier than the movies of today with low ratings.
Poltergeist, Legend of Hell House, Watcher in the Woods, Tremors, Jaws, Burnt Offerings. Are are under R rating, and are freaking scary!!
