@BeaterKiller800 if you were smart you would know that american made cars are pieces of shit. toyotas are some of the best trucks there are, you see those things with over 200 thousand miles on them still selling for 4 grand. and just think about it when have you ever seen a piece of shit duramax with that many miles..... no because they are pieces of crap that aint worth the metal they're made with.
There both great trucks the silverado is just a sport truck just for the street not for pulling. toyotas are good for the mud, dirt, and good for pulling and good with cargo and speed the silverado is good also but the toyota is the best.
I drive a yota and i will have to agree both ways.. Toyotas are awesome trucks but they dont have the POWER of a duramax... The tacoma is digging a grave with its tires...
@BeaterKiller800 "nigga"?? wow you are ignorant arent you? "and prove they suck ass"? WTF are you talking about...your comment makes no sense at all. How and why would I want or try to prove that toyotas "suck ass" as you put it, when I was clearly defending the fact that they dont and that they are more of an american made company then people would like to believe.
@tellado1555 WOW YOU HAVE NO CLUE ASS WIPE! The toyota tacoma is made right here in the USA! matter of fact...the toyota camry has more AMERICAN made parts in it then ANY other vehicle on the road. Probably ought to know your facts before you run your mouth about unamerican...chevy, ford and dogde all have vehicles made soly out of the USA in order to cut costs on production...so whos unamerican here??
nice trucks, espesially the toy. and im sorry put if the toy was against a ford deisle there would be absolutly no moveing it. im a ford and toyota fan my self .
These videos are completely pointless. All they prove is that one truck had better tires than the other.... For the most part, power doesnt even matter.
what a fuckin joke. i like both trucks but come on that taco weighs 3500 lbs max with 220 torque against a duramax that 650 torque and weighs 6000 lbs. no contest diesel wins everytime.
@klfer I had a '94 Mazda Navajo 4wd (same as a 2 door Explorer) with 31" tires, mild lift, 3.73 gears. My only real advantage was front/rear Powertrax No Slip lockers. I pulled out MANY fullsize trucks that others couldn't, or were afraid to pull out.
I pulled out 1 Ford with 38" Swampers that was stuck bad in a mudhole that I wouldn't have dared go through. 3 other trucks had tried and failed, and one of those lost his bumper. On the third tug I got him out.
@WKHalfo The GMC wasn't even trying, i see your point. but when it comes to pulling the diesel was build for that reason, when it comes to 4x4 most of the time the smaller trucks win. the weight of the big trucks is what gets them stuck. there is a lot of things that can be said but at the end of the day the GMC should of tried!
This is embarrasing I mean, I love Toyotas and that Duramax engine (one of the few good things Chevy has done) is good too but........the Chevy is supposed to be stronger than the Toyota. The Tacoma is by far a better vehicle as far as quality but the Chevy is supposed to be stronger.
y the fuck a tacoma, get a tundra. that chevy would shit itself if it sw a full size tundra coming it's way.+ they werent even on the gas, im all for toyota but that chevy is a tank compared to the toyota. it should yank it like a tundra would a ford....
The engine is great, the truck is garbage, my friend got his stuck in mud with the two rear tires on dry dirt, brand new all terrains, so don't give me the tire bullshit, Chevys are just grabage at wheeling, congrats on the towing ability tho. And it's a 3.4L not a 3.6... Stupid chevy guys.
I dont really understand why people do this, theres so many factors involved to which vehicle moves which way, just like this example where a smaller truck is pulling a bigger one. Eitherway there both nice trucks and its all in fun.
3.4L Tacoma pulling a Duramax crew cab... Even if the Toyota had better tires the duramax has WAY more torque with a diesel and far more weight to throw down on those tires. I'd go trade my Duramax in for a Tacoma after this one... sad
I suppose you're being facetious? Sarcasm does not work well in type. A Duramax has loads more power combined with the weight and if he had deep-lug Interco Boggers like the ToyoT instead of road tires with no grip? he'd yank the light Taco around. I Have a Mini-pickup I think toyotas are awesome, because they are. But I am not deluded in reality. Put 1000 Hp in a 4x4-runner , on a ice-covered lake then hook it to a Stock jeep cherokee on pavement in 2wd. Little jeep will pull all day.
earlray156 You must be retarded. The toyota can barely move that dmax when its standing still. Put them on pavement and the guy in the toyota will shit himself.
i own a tacoma. and its a great truck. but notice when the taco makes headway the duramaxes tires are moving backwards its like the dura backed up. the dura would rip the bumper of that taco on pavement. dont be stupid and wish big
@noadru yea i own a 08 taco double cab 4x4....and i love it to death...and ive never gotten stuck in it!!!(3in lift cooper stt tires) but their is no way at all that it could pull that big SOB....nope....now, ive pulled bigger trucks out of the mud before......but thats different...their helpin.
Yeah, wow... as a Tacoma owner, I am pretty embarassed to see guys talking about power:weight etc. There is no scenario where a Tacoma will outpull a turbo diesel truck, I'm sorry but that's just absurd.
agreed. i also am a tacoma owner. and i will say the turbo diesel will definitly outpull a taco. but who knows. maybe the driver didnt know what he was doing. maybe issue with wheels/tires. or just fake.
The toyota is naturally aspirated as opposed to the duramax engine. With any turbo engine, there is a lag once you push the accelerator. So the throttle response is slower than the Taco's response.
no!!! wrong no throttle response lagg. its called turbo lag. big diff then throttle lag!
i own a 2007 duramax with a alison trans, dual silverline exhaust turbo back(straight pipe),green cai, bully dog triple pmt chip, 3 inch lift, efi live tuneing, and stock turbo spun to 39 psi. putting out about 700hp and a little over 1000 tq!
dont get me wrong i love taco's an most toyotas. but im a die hard diesel fan! lots of fun to drive. actually to tell u the truth im look for a taco!
thats what you get when you put "low pro" nitto grapplers or any other radial like tires on your truck....they are for pavement pussies hahahaha, but i guess thats the look everyone is going for these days...PUSSIES
You think the Nitto Grapplers can't hold their own off road? I run 33" Grapplers on my PSD (check my video) and i've yet to get suck when i go trailing with my buddies. And i'm always the last truck in the line sinbce i don't have KC lights...so i'm going through 3-6 trucks rutts (sp?) in front of me no problem. And these are some deep rutts (sp again?), our lead truck is running some 40" IROK's. No my tires aren't as aggressive as those, but are in no way "pussy" as you put it.
so because you dont have KC's your not in front? look im not pickin on you or anything but 6 inch ruts aint nothing but hey if they work for you then cool no problem but i guess we just have different expectations from our tires. i run 35x13.5x16 and i love my tsl's and honestly i wouldnt mind running some grapplers on the road...might keep the noise down.. its just that i have seen them fail plenty of times but like i said if they work for you, great. have fun mudding out there
I mean when we go out at night trailing i'm in the back. Doesn't make sense for me to lead when i light up the least amount of trail. And i didn't mean 6" ruts, i mean i'm behind 3-6 other trucks' ruts. As in i get the worst most torn up ones. Usually i just straddle them though. And your right about the road noise, i've rode with my bud with 35" M/T's and it's just flat out annoying. Only when we have the music blasting is it berrable. What do you mean by seeing them fail? Stuck or blow out?
now this is just sad

BrotherBen723 1 year ago
@klfer Even though that older, smaller Tacoma is lighter than my larger, heavier '06, the older Tacoma certainly weighs more than 3500 pounds.
And it's about more than just torque and weight. Torque and weight doesn't guarantee a win, especially when the ground is soft.

@klfer Yes, I agree. The GMC really didn't try. It's really a stupid video. It proves nothing.
For towing heavy loads and carrying heavy cargo the GMC is a better choice. That's a no-brainer.

Looks like that Duramax is only spinning the left side wheels too. Shitty 4wd

the 4wd is doing it's job it's just that he has an open diff

3.4L Tacoma pulling a Duramax crew cab... Even if the Toyota had better tires the duramax has WAY more torque with a diesel and far more weight to throw down on those tires. I'd go trade my Duramax in for a Tacoma after this one... sad
MrJrakk 2 years ago
ahahhahahah, Durajunk really sucks
It's like a civic pulling a semi, hilarious OWNED

@6JustinElkins dude thats an air tube that weighs tops of ten lbs lol

If they both had the same Mud tires as the Tacoma, the Heavier Silverado would win
damnedboner 2 years ago 22
yeah dude its the tires! even though thats a 3.4 v6 vs a DURASHIT, yeah dude you are right its all about the mud tires thats why he won.
krims0n70 2 years ago
I suppose you're being facetious? Sarcasm does not work well in type. A Duramax has loads more power combined with the weight and if he had deep-lug Interco Boggers like the ToyoT instead of road tires with no grip? he'd yank the light Taco around. I Have a Mini-pickup I think toyotas are awesome, because they are. But I am not deluded in reality. Put 1000 Hp in a 4x4-runner , on a ice-covered lake then hook it to a Stock jeep cherokee on pavement in 2wd. Little jeep will pull all day.
damnedboner 2 years ago 2
@damnedboner yeah silverado has city slicker tires lol

@damnedboner wow! really?!

lol at the ppl that say this is fake, the duramax was hardly trying, and when it was going back was because he was backing up.
doomboy829 2 years ago
look at 1:15 the rope loses tension and the duramax still going back i could think this is fake
edgrano 2 years ago
@edgrano yea u can see that at 58 seconds too

Seeing is believeing until now! Toyota proves again and again and still no respect! See you at the top of the hill durnot!
earlray156 2 years ago 3
earlray156 You must be retarded. The toyota can barely move that dmax when its standing still. Put them on pavement and the guy in the toyota will shit himself.
Dustin91 2 years ago
The Chevy Wasent even Pulling you see the rope or what ever they had go slack

@ozzieaust thats the turbo lol
Quagland69 1 year ago
any car would rip the bumper off it given some slack.
dimeb135 2 years ago
I would absolutely love for the dmax to let about 10ft of slack in the chain and rip the bumper off that taco.
(toy)otas cant play with the big boys. :)
Dustin91 2 years ago
who would be dumb enough to attach the hitch to the bumper?
coleandrobert 2 years ago
@coleandrobert You know what i mean, hell if i was in the dmax id love to hook the chain threw the cab of the toyota and drag it around.
Dustin91 2 years ago
i own a tacoma. and its a great truck. but notice when the taco makes headway the duramaxes tires are moving backwards its like the dura backed up. the dura would rip the bumper of that taco on pavement. dont be stupid and wish big
noadru 2 years ago 32
@noadru yea i own a 08 taco double cab 4x4....and i love it to death...and ive never gotten stuck in it!!!(3in lift cooper stt tires) but their is no way at all that it could pull that big SOB....nope....now, ive pulled bigger trucks out of the mud before......but thats different...their helpin.
erogers2008 1 year ago
TUG is war is so stupid. Where the hell is came from.
gtvapsamtik 2 years ago
@gtvapsamtik No kidding. Plain stupid.
Perhaps even more stupid is a Tacoma driver thinking he could actually compete?
mtb416 2 years ago
proof for all those idiots that think a big diesel will always solve the problem
suprakilzz26 2 years ago
Thats funny as hell seeing that lil yota pulling a durmax. Obviously its not possible if they both had the same tires, but its cool anyway.

entertaining yet pointless battle
uuyittn 2 years ago
Yeah, wow... as a Tacoma owner, I am pretty embarassed to see guys talking about power:weight etc. There is no scenario where a Tacoma will outpull a turbo diesel truck, I'm sorry but that's just absurd.
Notice the difference in TIRES?
JessePVO 2 years ago
agreed. i also am a tacoma owner. and i will say the turbo diesel will definitly outpull a taco. but who knows. maybe the driver didnt know what he was doing. maybe issue with wheels/tires. or just fake.

general motors looking bad again. if it's not their sales figures or their finalcial situation. it's their performance. u see a pattern?

The beauty of owning a Yota. Tuggin a duramax.
BuhundredReturns 2 years ago
I like toyota's but this here proves tires make a truck of course the duramax would win on pavement
tundra243 2 years ago 3
The toyota is naturally aspirated as opposed to the duramax engine. With any turbo engine, there is a lag once you push the accelerator. So the throttle response is slower than the Taco's response.
catch22yo 2 years ago
no!!! wrong no throttle response lagg. its called turbo lag. big diff then throttle lag!
i own a 2007 duramax with a alison trans, dual silverline exhaust turbo back(straight pipe),green cai, bully dog triple pmt chip, 3 inch lift, efi live tuneing, and stock turbo spun to 39 psi. putting out about 700hp and a little over 1000 tq!
dont get me wrong i love taco's an most toyotas. but im a die hard diesel fan! lots of fun to drive. actually to tell u the truth im look for a taco!
tmaxxmonster2 2 years ago
the deciding factor is the tires in this case. the chevy would drag that taco around like crazy on pavement with the same tires.
carlokrenzelak 2 years ago
it's a diesel get the black smoke pourin'
kabagle 2 years ago
thats what you get when you put "low pro" nitto grapplers or any other radial like tires on your truck....they are for pavement pussies hahahaha, but i guess thats the look everyone is going for these days...PUSSIES
MXblaster105 2 years ago
You think the Nitto Grapplers can't hold their own off road? I run 33" Grapplers on my PSD (check my video) and i've yet to get suck when i go trailing with my buddies. And i'm always the last truck in the line sinbce i don't have KC lights...so i'm going through 3-6 trucks rutts (sp?) in front of me no problem. And these are some deep rutts (sp again?), our lead truck is running some 40" IROK's. No my tires aren't as aggressive as those, but are in no way "pussy" as you put it.
Big2000Powerstroke 2 years ago
so because you dont have KC's your not in front? look im not pickin on you or anything but 6 inch ruts aint nothing but hey if they work for you then cool no problem but i guess we just have different expectations from our tires. i run 35x13.5x16 and i love my tsl's and honestly i wouldnt mind running some grapplers on the road...might keep the noise down.. its just that i have seen them fail plenty of times but like i said if they work for you, great. have fun mudding out there
MXblaster105 2 years ago
I mean when we go out at night trailing i'm in the back. Doesn't make sense for me to lead when i light up the least amount of trail. And i didn't mean 6" ruts, i mean i'm behind 3-6 other trucks' ruts. As in i get the worst most torn up ones. Usually i just straddle them though. And your right about the road noise, i've rode with my bud with 35" M/T's and it's just flat out annoying. Only when we have the music blasting is it berrable. What do you mean by seeing them fail? Stuck or blow out?
Big2000Powerstroke 2 years ago
nah no blow outs just getting stuck....not great for deep mud or sand, they work great on clay like surfaces though or damp dirt/mud
MXblaster105 2 years ago
We don't have anything too deep around here, and if it is i'll just hop out, lock my hubs, 4WD, then good to go.
Big2000Powerstroke 2 years ago
Sand definitely, i tried to drive on the beach once...fml
