  • I dont mean to be the nay sayer, but I think your spark might have been under water until you pulled in some air. I suspect that your spark did not get to the gas. I filled a 500ml plastic bottle with gas. Used a steel wool igniter in the bottle connected to posts to the outside. When I hit the button the darn thing went off like a stick of tnt. Very powerful blast that left a freakin' crater in back yard. So I am pretty certain that the gas is highly combustible even if no air is present.

  • You might be partially right.

    The spark was not under water but maybe there was enough water left on the syringe-walls to conduct ,and therefore decrease the spark energy.

    Still strange that the yellow spark dit not ignite the gas.
