  • amazing saw live a year ago now great night will live long in the memory......

  • I'm no expert at all in guitar playing, but it seems to me like he has an excellent combination of technique and emotion. Well done.

  • i bet he and the handful of other guys that play the guitar on this level can actually talk to each other just using their guitars. hahaha. ;-) this is great, please come to haus der kulturen der welt (house of world cultures) in berlin. loved your show in bracknell!!!

  • i think the tuning for this is DADGCE

  • wonderful clip .. thanks for posting

  • FANTASTIC!

  • TRUE music ... beyond words ... it is as if you want time to stop and this sound to continue forever .. INCREDIBLE

  • definitely love your style...oooh I must get in touch with you, aboslutely love it! genius!

  • awesome luv it i learning this tune myself so many good versions i have heard nice vid antonio

  • 10 people prefer the Spice Girls

  • i really like this guy, his original stuff is great too, but maybe a bit too much effects/reverb?......

  • yea i don't know about elevator boy. think he needs to fall down one. but anyway Antonio is definitely up in my top 3 of guitar mastery. looking forward to seeing him live.

  • I kinda dig this. it's not the greatest rendition of this song I've ever heard, but it's quite good. and this is far, far from elevator music.

  • I first heard him on big booth 2 heh

  • I saw him live in Kalk Bay, South Africa last night and he is a million times better live than on these YouTube vids and on these videos he sounds amazing so you can imagine what he is like live!!! Best live guitar playing i've ever seen.

  • holyshit, that is ridiculously good

  • best dynamics around.

  • Those subtle harmonics are to die for.

  • Amazing, just amazing

  • Fiday 22 Oct ANTONIO FORCIONE SOLO - Warwick Arts Centre GREATEST(almost)HITS Box Office: 024 7652 4524

  • If this is elevator music, then please lock me in one for the rest of my life.

  • forcione is a living legegend

  • Very good I like it

  • Awesome sound. Put that in the elevator and everybody will want to ride up and down. ;)

  • Ok all Antonio fans...my Dad runs an acoustic club called Plantation Lakes in a village called Kingston Seymour. Its about twenty miles outside of Bristol. Its a beautiful converted farmhouse venue with great beer and food, and on occasion my Dad books international players. Antonio Forcione has just been confirmed as a guest for December 2010. Tickets will be £20 each.

  • Saw Antonio in Norwich on Friday night with the Quartet. Excellent - want to listen to all his albums.

  • Going to see him on Wednesday in Brighton, can't wait! This is is the song that I first heard him do, and I still love it!

  • London fans of Forcione rejoice - Antonio plus quartet plays in Hammersmith on 15 May 2010 at Riverside Studios

  • this is no elevator music man - if it take me in it

  • Can `t wait to hear him at GUITARMASTERS 2011 !

  • so boring

  • I heard it on Holby City too! They play some good music in the background sometimes and never give credit but I quickly grabbed my Anroid powered phone and fired up Shazam - 10 seconds later it identified it correctly.

  • I also heard this last night on Holby City and just had to find out who was playing it. Credits gave no clue and couldn't find it on We7, but got it straight away here. I always liked the song but this really is a lovely version.

  • amazing player with an amazing song

  • I cannot believe my luck, I just heard this song on a TV show (Holby City). I had no idea what the name of the song or the name of the musician is; and I just found it on Youtube in 2 mins, how lucky is that

  • @piankhy123 me too, saw this on holby and thought man that version sounds cool, quickly searched on here and it came straight up! crazy. awesome cover.

  • Nice! I love Bill Frisell's version of this tune as well.

  • I wish I could see the look on the faces of the people in the crowd at about 4:59

  • @rubbersoul816 I would have liked to see the expression on thier faces at 0:00

  • The 1st time I saw AF was up close in a small venue in Edinburgh Festival - I was not suitably prepared! I had never heard or seen anybody like him before. Seen him many times since then - always tastefull, inventive and a joy to behold.

  • Groove on this !

  • LOVE THIS VERSION

  • Awsome. Loistava. Unbelivable.Uskomaton.

  • Fantastico...Fun, Funk, jazz and Rock style all in one package....such a great sound:-)

  • Phenomenal, Antonio - superb voicing and articulation! I have a Yamaha APX-10 Lefty and love it! Wish I could play it the way you do. I'll keep practicing.

  • Orgoglio.

  • Piekna gra .Podoba mi sie ..Pozdrawiam:)

  • bella Antonio...

    it's great

  • Amazing Antonio! :)

  • unbelievable ! When will he come to Germany?!

  • Hey Antonio! LOVE this.. You posted as video response but has not shown up on your clip.. not sure why! If you have anything to promote let me know .. will be done! .. Thank YOU for your great support on Peace Day xoxo

  • Please send the elevator that's playing this stuff at 5:00. I'm REALLY looking forward to THAT ride.

  • not gona lie, i was doing air guitar to this the whole time :)

  • Beautiful, I cant believe my ears. Keep em' coming, New York City

  • Out of the star system, he choiced to get into real music. The great thing about him is a polyedrical view of music and guitar.

Educated to percussions, he masters different tecniques: finger picking, plectrum, tapping, freet-less, percussion, apart from a very accurate sound engineering and production.

Most people don't even know him, but musicians completely understand his talent.

Thanks, Antonio, people like you make me feel proud of being from Southern Italy.

  • In think this one is better than Michaels. Really fantastic!

  • i remember him in bologna 2004 demostrating for yamaha' s new guitar , i was there for pure case ........what a fortune ,GO ANTONIO GO !!!!!!

  • Oh please, Liakos! Its a good thing you like his art but get a bit informed (re his past and his future now) .. he is most famous internationally then in Italy and its not said to be talented you have to utterly be known to the mass. Selfishly I woudnt even prefer this about Forcione. He is the best guitarist on the scene now and re new pieces, well, would be more than happy to but sincerely cant get enough of the old ones yet :)

Italy stillproduces men of genius & Forcione is One of them.

  • ok thank you about your usefull information that you gave me !

  • STIMA

  • great song !!! i love it , but i have some questions guys, mr. forcione is italian ? and why i dont see some new songs?is very talented person he would have do an international career, what happent to him ?

  • géniale !

  • You can feel the pulse!

  • Anybody know which tune his in?, I've got so far that the low E string is drop D but the upper E,B,G i just can't make it fit :p

  • DADGCE

  • @LeaderOfMunkFish ,,,6th string down to d as you said and only other difference is 2nd string(b) up to c...

  • Adoro ciò che faccia! Veramente! Incredibile!

Vivamente un prossimo concerto su Parigi!

    Buona giornata!

  • Elevation music, morelike ! Yes ! Yes ! Yes !

  • Correctly Said and Well Written 'Jazz Scene'. In my opinion there's a huge gulf between being a 'Guitarist' and a 'Musician'. The latter involving many things, as you said a lot of 'interior' ability's....

  • Those who criticize haven't got a clue. Those of us who know what music is about know that while he's playing, Mr. Forcione has travelled to music land. He no longer notices the surroundings or if he's alone. He's in an inner journey. That's what music is about. Been there some times, and it's one of the best things that can happen to you.

  • Somebody here put Elevator music. Some day all Elevators will have such great music.

Meantime I call this Elevation Music.

  • i love this, I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE, Greetings from SERBIA, proud

  • You're right flyfifer51, some people beter stay with Britney Spears and comeback in 40 years.

This is music played with a great heart.

  • don't get me wrong, i like forcione a lot. but i think he himself wouldn't say he is special or anything. it is just that idiot like spears and such lower the bar so much. ;)

  • Re negative comments: those who can do - those who can't spend their time writing snotty little attacks on talented people- it's much easier than devoting ones time to the hard work of practice.

  • Pure PASSION .. wow

  • muuuuuy bueno Tio!! muy bueno Que arte!

    OLÉ!

  • ok, great skills... BUT: elevator-music. and the guitar-tone is just too flawless, really. like these 80's overchorused clean tones. pheeeww... yeah, I know, it's taste, but I can't even listen to the whole song, it turns me off.

  • wow you've been riding some funky elevators...

nah i get u about the the tone etc and im no fan of chorus but give it a chance, listen from about 5 mins

  • Elevator music?...

    What?...

  • I see what you mean but let's not forget that to play an acoustic guitar as clean as this is god-like in itself.

  • Sicky Gnary Gnar

  • holy shit! That is awesome. love the way he playes that thing, so dynamic.

  • I love how he plays it, full stop :D

  • Wow..................

  • thank you for this wonderful music man.

  • Antonio, ti ho conosciuto tramite un cd "Meet Me in London", da lì, non ti ho mai abbandonato. Meno male che YouTube consente di vedere i miracoli che fai, oltre che sentirli !

  • This is amazing.

Complimenti!

  • I saw him live in England once. Looking back I am kind of ashamed sitting there, watching with my jaw dropped for the first half of the show. ;)

  • He has his own, unique style! GREAT!!!

    5 stars

  • i agree

  • i know it's unlikely to find tabs for this sort of thing, but is there sheet music that i can buy?

  • I have been born again!

  • soooooo iLL!!!!!! i love it.

  • absolutely stunning.

  • This is my fave Tube clip by miles at the moment. Check out Andy Mckee and David Soltany, more quality fingerstylists

  • I saw you at concert in Riga, man, I was absolutely impressed.. Great aproach!

  • DAMMMMNNNN! this guy's got mad skills.

  • Amazing man... Keep up the excelent work!

Regards from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

    David

  • Very good. It looks like it's in open tuning to me, but I don't know what tuning it is.

  • i think his low 'E' is tuned to 'A' well i played one of his pieces and that was the tuning he used and i think he uses that tuning in all his pieces.

  • sounds like open-D to me...

  • sounds like open-D to me...

  • bigass mistake...open D but the 6th is A

  • Pretty certain it is - Low to high - D A D G C E! Hope that helps!

  • Hey, thanks dude, been tryin to figure out the tuning for this =]..

  • Dropped D on 6th strng ; and the 2nd string is tuned up a 1/2 step to a C.....

  • this is fantastic.............viva antonio

  • Antonio sei grande!

Ciao da san benedetto del tronto

  • This guy is just great what more can I say..well a lot but that's good enough

  • Is this particular version featured on any of antonio's albums?

  • His Live! album. The pic at the begining is the cover for it

  • is this in open tuning or standred fantastic work young man like your style

  • Awesome! :D I love this song..

  • "this is I heard through the grapevine, a Marvin Gaye song and if anybody knows the words and would like to sing along...well don't do it!" Antonio said during his Florence gig in oct. '03. IDOLO!!!

  • Mama Mia! Sei Grande Antonio!

I've seen some great guitarists over the years, but no one can combine so many musical skills as you do and use them all at once...

  • OH MY GOD!!!! I can't get enough of this...especially between 05:00 and 05:29. I used to play piano, but I don't feel comfortable saying that I ever truly "played" piano when in comparison to the way he plays his guitar. So heartfelt & such incredible timing. : ) I am totally blown away.

  • Wow Antonio Forcione, you are so amazing!

  • grande antonio tieni in alto l'italia... 6 un talento complimenti....

  • it almost puts u in a whole different mind set when ur listen to it.. alil funk, alil classical, alil blues.. PERFECT!

  • jsut as good as in concert

too bad he didnt play this song

  • this man is a monster!!!!! I love it!!

  • i worked out how he gets that sound, its like a chorus effect or what ive got a whammy pedal with the detune setting through a clean guitar channel (obviously).

the song itself is surprisingly easy to play.

no discredit to antonio tho, he is one of the best guitar players in the world.

  • maybe technically, but his dynamics and tone are hard to match. His ability to play the bass notes and percussion while playing the main theme is really something

  • Such a beautiful sound wich guitar does he use ?

  • wow very beautiful great sound out of such a simple instrument very acoustic fantastico A+

  • waw

  • JIHAA!!!

  • This puts a smile on my face everytime i see it

    Ammostr' Forciò!

  • It's just sick. Ammostro, ammostro!

  • super

  • what an amazing sound!!

  • A truly amazing guitarist. Peter

  • HOLY F**K, GET OFF THAT!!! i bow my head to you mr. forcione

  • Seen this guy many times, he is the best acoustic guitarist I know of.

  • He is certainly one of the best, he has some much feel and plays so tastefully and he also keeps the taste levels up in his more virtuosic pieces too...

If you haven't heard Michael Hedges you may want to give him a listen. Aerial Boundaries is a fantastic album and so is the tune.

  • Completely love your version

  • Ha! thanks for posting the tuning man, I was pokin around in G!! Great rendition

  • Yeah, saw this cat life at Pizza Express London in Feb. 2007. Paul Mc. Cartney was there too to check Antonio out.

  • go somewhere else...bollocks!!!! Piss off!!!
