mr. D i truly like your teaching and explanation of the technique, especially how you break it down to a science. Im currently infantry in the army and have done what i would consider moderate training in bjj and kickboxing.. I'm really looking forward to more of your teaching material, keep it up sir.
@kenseisato1989 we just have to do a better job of showing our true skill, everyone wants us to fight but you have to have good opponents to bring out your best and thanks
I'm old school, seen many a trainer; trained in kenpo, some boxing and 5 years of muay thai, and this man knows his art/practice. This is very very good, matter of fact I'm subscribed, so gentlemen hit me up and let's talk shop. We gotta keep the edge keen :)
Whoever this gentleman is, he is a true master. This skill that he possesses, the ability to change and relax, to make the opponent his other half like in this particular technique is remarkable. This is the way martial arts should be. This teacher can be very dangerous in a match. Not someone you want to challenge.
@kuntybollex thank you brother, but I'm no master we however do put a lot of work into our craft. We believe that if you work hard the results are in the puddin. you get out what you put in. We want to give more to the people but the basic first. and thank you peace
@kuntybollex I have some friends in LA but none of them teaches for us yet
we do have instructionals 52blockstv check us out and online training is coming. just trying to get an idea of what people need. so that we're not doing the same things over and over
Hey, FarisiD...have you seen the instructor/uploader 'whotookdonnierules'? I'd like to get your opinion on the muay boran lotus entrance and ledrit knee. I think it would blend just beautifully with the 52.
ok a good question! when throwing a hook what is the best/right way of throwing one? your palm facing your chest or palm down? it's actually really important to me. thank you!
The hook varies depending on range. a tight hook (check hook) is short and choppy; thus facing your chest gives you more surface, while a sweeping hook loops thus bringing your knuckles in from an angle so palm down. the last thing is the position of the body when you attack
@genchiknihuyoviy if you throw a hook with ur palm down and only hit with 1 or two knuckles all that power and force is going through a very small bone which usually ends up with ur knuckle broke and ur hand useless ........with the palm facing you , you will hit with all your fist / knuckles ...also when u try this pull ur hook back to ur chest on impact as this can help to dislocate the jaw ...just another thing there for ya :)
52 Blocks vs Stato Fist, a documentary on the history 52 Blocks in America, email danielmarks52@yahoo(dot)com to get a free viewer password to watch it online.
now I would agree with you except I cut into path of of his counter blow. with my hook not elbow. you missed the part where I say shoot the jab and throw the hook back to you.
I understand your idea. Anyway to keep your elbow high is a risky. If I where guy in the white t-shirt 1:34 I wold step forward to the right and throw right uppercut under the ribs. Why not stepping forward with elbows down and throw to the body? Or stepping aside? Even better.
True but did you see how I closed in real time. watching a demo you can see all kind of things, but when the heat is on you have to get it in. no time to pick and choose. take what is open (or is it open could be bait) one never knows. so we don't think.. we take what is there and live with it
in the manny poacquiao 24/7 where he was preparing to fight with moore and roach, he worked exactly this defense out of south paw which equated to stepping in and "hooking inside" his opponents hook" to great effect. - I see the science.
you see, the key and purpose is to catch him which offsets him, then his timing is off for the counter, but I have to allow for the what if. so I give you what you see, and the counter to that too
Hey, it looks like it could be a pretty awesome technique, but I noticed the teacher was like 6" + taller. Can a shorter guy still cut the hook angle using the same/similar elbow block??
A shorter guy has an advantage because he can change levels faster. so the block would be different. what we look at is how we set up the attack. people counter high low, so if you build in more than one response you'll find what works for you.
Mr 52 displayed the Elbows already so why are you trying to ezplain what this man is doing ? You looking reAL DESPERATE ! And didn't yall say that yall know the duffy brothers ? WGY NOT HOLLA AT THEM ?
Did ya'll really break down the angle cut in 2 minutes??? What?! Son that clip right there would save a GANG of chins in the hood if they paid attention & practiced the art. Fire. Hit my page let me know how to support ya'll
Folks interested in learning more, TO have access to more instructional clips we need your contact email and address, email it to us and we will get you the link and passwords.

Good "stuff", well thought out. Anyone who teaches, should be mindful not to dominate. It avenges the students.

Man when you have your elbow up in the air you can get a real havy blow in you body. It is suicide. You must have you elbows back after each strike.
Gardariket 2 years ago
yeah but the guys balance is off there is no way he steps forward and gets a huge right uppercut by the time his arm is back protecting him.

Faris,
How important is leg work in striking vs. upper body conditioning?
curtisb3000 2 years ago
I use the legs to drive the shot then snap it back.
like a with a spring. To sit in the pocket you need your legs, squats and lunges.then add the toe tap. time your shot to the tappingof your foot.
