wow, this is really cool!! THis is like, the kind of film I've always wanted to make!! An animated film that's deep, moving, and cool. You are awesome!!
Well... get making it then ;) go get yourself a copy of 3dmax and after effects, and as long as you have a computer better than a p3 500, you should be all set.
And not knowing how to do 3d animation is no excuse, time to jump in with both feet.
1) the slow way: use a toon shader like illustrate
2) the fast way: make a clone of your model, and use the push modifer to 'push out' the verticies, the the NORMAL modifier to flip the normals, and assign a 100% black material to the 'tooning' mesh
Now, I've been using max for a little while, but as soon as I understand what you're talking about, I'll get back to you... lol. Thanks for the tip though, I'll check it out. Great job by the way.
Awesome!

Question: Does this have anything to do with the game?

Which one, archon or defender?

is this made yusing endorphin animation i think they call it?
jajay52 4 years ago
Some of the action shots use a mix of endorphin and motion capture files, with a lot more keyframe animation to tweak it the way I want it.

Sweet... Wow, wonder how that slipped by me. Thanks the help man! I owe you.

do this:
create a sphere with radius 1
make a copy (not an instance)
set the radius of the copy to 1.2
apply 'normal' modifier
set 'flip normals' on
assign black material to second sphere
now no matter how you rotate the viewport around the spheres, it's surrounded by a black cartoon edge.
you can do the exact same thing for any mesh object

Ahh. Now I see. Okay, that demo reel contains bits from this story. Further coolness. How is the finished work going to be released?
MartySchrader 4 years ago
Well, I havent quite decided on that, it will need to be finished first, which will be a while away yet.

Wow, that is seriously impressive! Looking forward to it
