  • obama is such a liar.

  • Well you leftist/Marxist schmucks that voted this clown into office I HOPE you like the CHANGE obummer has brought!

    OWS = Occupy Washington, Stupid!!

  • Single payer in a country with a 70% obesity/overweight rate? Grand. Let's see just how deep a hole we can put ourselves in, by removing the last restraints of personal responsibility from any intervening role in the national political equation.

  • HARPER IS CANADA'S HITLER; spending 1.1 BILLION on security for Toronto, while Philadelphia spent 18 million on security for their meeting; While Canadians languish for years on wait lists, GOVERNMENT RATIONED universal health care, paid for by our hard earned tax money is used for anything BUT medical care for needy people who have been lied to;WHY do you think congress is able to opt out of the proposed system. IT's nothing more than a BIG TAX GRAB, universal health care in canada is a LIE

  • Gee, ole Barry, where'd all the good doctors go??

  • WHY ANYONE would vote democRAT is beyond me - 75% of Americans disagree with most RAT policies (anti-God, support abortion & open borders to name 3) - They've stolen $Billions to fill elect RATS..dis-sing Republicans as "rich people" who don't care about the "little guy" (while RATS are the richest in congress) -They payoff a.c.o.r.n. & thugs in every precinct - & then there's the "zombies" who vote RAT because "they've always voted RAT" VOTE the RATS out in November, then ALL RATS in 2012

  • This guy is just saying this because he doesn't want the big corporations to stop giving him money.

  • @XM8rifle No surprise to see , President Jesus 2.0 was going to run again.. The arrogant bastard probably thinks he’s going to have as easy a time of it as he did in 2008. Sorry, Barry, this time U have to run on your record.

One bright side to this, I’m looking forward to laughing in the faces of supporters as they tell me how he deserves a second term

Ive never seen a politician purport to have bad intentions, no matter what the agenda. Hitler thought he was doing the world a favor

  • Single payer also means less lawsuits right now when you are in an accident at work, in yr. car, or dairy aisle at the supermarket when you make a claim (on yr. health insurance or their liability insurance), theres a cap to hame much is covered so you have to bring in lawyers and lawsuits to get more of yr. expenses covered. In a single payer system, all yr. medical is covered (no cap) less lawsuits.

  • I love how he lies when he knows he's on camera, but when he doesnt know hes being taped, and in front of the AFL-CIO, he states CLEARLY his true intentions..."it will take us time to get to single payer" (see other youtube vids).

  • What are the Democrats cooking up now? A new health care turkey casserole with public-option entrails. Yet another Demcare Trojan Horse. Watch out:

Total government control is the objective.

Trigger option, hammer option, schmoption option Once this is in, therell ultimately be no option. Well all be in the charity ward together, supplicants of Big Government. The trigger itself is the Trojan Horse.

    BURN THAT HORSENOW!!

  • White House boasts: We 'control' news media

Communications chief offers shocking confession to foreign government

    By Aaron Klein

    © 2009 WorldNetDaily

White House Comm Director Anita Dunn disclosed at a videotaped conference.

"Very rarely did we communicate through the press anything that we didn't absolutely control," said Dunn.

Dunn was speaking at a Jan. 12, 2009, event focusing on Obama's media tactics and hosted by the Global Foundation for Democracy & Development

    TAKEOVER

  • No, seriously...WorldNutDaily??

Do you have this, ahem, "information" from a legitimate source, like, say, the bathroom wall at Stuckeys??

  • Take This ObamaCare and Shove It!

  • Obama does not make a good argument at all. He's BS'ing badly. Single-payer IS the most civilized and efficient of health care delivery systems. We can't make private insurance more efficient. It's very mission is to profit off of your health or illness. How disgusting is that??

  • To dems and Obama: Fix Medicare and Medicaid (what you are responsible for today) and then maybe we can trust you with the entire system. It is arrogance beyond belief that you believe you can change something so important, so complex, and so huge all at once. Take this in steps, steps that we can understand.

"A liberal is someone who feels a great debt to his fellow man, which debt he proposes to pay off with your money."

  • URGENT!!... type in you tube "glenn beck august 11th 2009 part 1 and 2" .. part 2 is especially scary/bothersome

Google "QALY" and "complete lives system" Rahm Emanuels brother & radical/czars are under BO's tree of healthcare that will change society... follows a pattern of his associations going back 20 years with radicals/racist Rev. Wright/ayers. A person doesn't hang out with people unless he is comfortable around them and with like mind... please forward the beck info around

  • the genie is out of the pink bottle that is Obama's Marxist ideology

  • Pg 22 : Mandates that the Govt will audit books of all employers that self insure!!

Pg 29 lines 4-16 : YOUR HEALTH CARE IS RATIONED!!!

Pg 203 Line 14-15 : "The tax imposed under this section shall not be treated as tax" Yes, it says that!

Pg 42 :The Health Choices Commissioner will choose your HC Benefits for you. You have no choice!

Pg 50 Section 152 : HC will be provided to ALL non US citizens, illegal or otherwise

  • isnt that the same way health care is conducted in prison?

  • Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, a health policy advisor to President Obama and the brother of the Presidents chief of staff. Dr. Emanuel medical services should not be guaranteed to those who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens....An obvious example is not guaranteeing health services to patients with dementia. Dr. Emanuel advocated basing medical decisions on a system which produces a priority curve on which individuals age

  • Obama is a Communist.

  • Time to wake up, you fawning toadies.

Your Obamessiah is an accomplished bullshit artist and LIAR who's going to finish the job of ruining America; a job that the Republicunts started.

  • 1.) Brain-wash dumb americans with clever rethoric. 2.) Ruin the economy

with excessive spending and skew the healthcare competition in government-runned favor eliminating the private healthcare sector. 3.) Start from scratch, implament single payer universal health care system. 4.) tax payers and tax payers children suffer because 12 million, not 47 or 50 million people, are without health insurence. Horse-shit!

  • Starting from scratch as opposed to working with what we have? Isn't that called.... CHANGE?

    What a corporate tool.

  • Yeah but, "Starting from scratch" using a system that is already broken? Medicare/Medicaid that is what your single payer system would look like. And we all know that that system is broken. Also, you want to insure another 40-50 million people but you're not adding any more physicians and you don't think there's going to be shortages and rationing. Now who's being the tool?

  • Starting from scratch argument is bogus. Obama talked about Medicare. That's right. We have Medicare, we have the model, we're not starting from scratch. Bogus argument against single payer.

  • This is bullshit. Just extend medicare to all....it's that simple. People will drop their employer based plans overnight, as will employers.

  • The problem with that idea is that Medicare is going bankrupt. It's not financially possible to put everyone on Medicare. You can only borrow and print money to pay for stuff for so long.

  • President Obama, get off the insurance companies payroll, and start from scratch. I'm willing to sacrifice by waiting for the sake of my children and this country! Make your voice heard on HR676!

  • The legislation for single payer IS already glacially slow. The transition could be much faster, and people in the insurance industry could be paid to retrain for useful, ethical jobs in real health care. Public health and direct health care services could use them.

  • But Mr. Obama, what happens when you lose your job and can't afford COBRA? And you can't get health ins. because your unemployment checks cause you to make "too much money" to qualify for Medicaid? Yeah, right-- "Let's build off the system we've got"-- a system that is broken because driven by profits above people's health and is designed to DENY people health care! If you were served a horrible meal, how would you feel if the chef said, "let's work with what we're got"??

  • Uh...actually that's why he's proposing HEALTH REFORM alongside a public option.

  • If we had some way of repaying the tax payers that buy into the one person pay system that dont use it, in the form of a tax rebate at the end of the year this will give some incentive not to use it for non catastrophic care. Also we could have a plan that will give anyone a choice to opt out of the one person pay system on their payroll deductions form or tax form. If a person does opt out and buys privet health insurance they can not use the benefits of the public health system.

  • lol, i agree with you. but the super rich people will opt out and buy private insurance for sure, just like anyone who affords it and the state would be left with lazy junkies and retired people.

  • Yes the wealthy who will end up paying the bulk of the cost for healthcare will opt out and then the system will be heavily underfunded. Therefore a national system must include everyone. To say that everyone who cannot afford healthcare is a lazy junkie or retired is very ignorant on your part. The bulk of America's working poor and much of the middle class has either no insurance or inadequate insurance coverage. Not every person employed gets insurance through their jobs.

  • So you want someone else to pay for your healthcare? Kewl. If I'm hungry I can steal someone's sandwich if he has two? lol. BTW, out of those 50 million, 14 million are eligible for other government aid and 10 million afford insurance, but they don't get it. The figure includes illegals. By the way, out of 300+ million people in the US, 25 million which includes illegals arent much of the poor and middle class.

  • DelyshBB, I already have health insurance. And yes I do think that all Americans should pay for a national health insurance plan, just like all americans pay for public schools, for roads, and for all of the social and public services we have. The rich will of course pay more given that they have the ability to do so.

  • This country's attitude of "I care about myself and screw everyone else" is disgusting and inhumane. Health care should not be a business, it should be a service just like it is in the rest of the civilized world.

Your statistics ignore the Americans who can't get private insurance due to pre-existing conditions, Americans with health insurance whose plan dont to fully cover them and those who will be refused coverage once the insurance companies see they become a net loss to the company.

  • It is disgusting that in this country, businesses can make money off other people's illness. We are spending some much extra money on bureaucratic crap and on profits that don't go to doctors or health care services, but instead end up in the bank accounts of pharmaceuticals and insurance companies.

And I'm sorry that you don't feel that 25 million (or whatever # u want to give) without health care is a lot. One American without healthcare is one American too many.

  • The costs of insurance in the US are so high because the competition is skewed. Look into how the government didn't allow competition in the drug producing market. Then look at how the government made all employers get insurance for their employees(which made a lot of guaranteed customers for insurers so they could raise their premiums without caring). Then these were guaranteed customers for hospitals and so on. This is the problem, not not having single payer.

  • The problems you speak of (the whole issue of employers having to pay for health care and competition being skewed) is easily solved with single payer health care. They only losers here are the insurance and drug companies who will be forced to compete with the insurance plans the government would offer all Americans.

  • And by the way, you will pay more for crappier healthcare.

  • I am currently looking into grad schools and was researching McGill in Montreal and saw that the healthcare plan they offer international students (thus not covered by their single payer system) would actually cost me half of what I pay today for my health insurance with my university and cover much more than my current plan. This is because private insurance in Canada must compete with the public heath plan.

  • the WHO is irrelevant. 25% of the rating is leftist claptrap for "fairness". and i'd have no problem if the payment wouldn't be mandatory into the system and people would pay when they use the system, not be forced to pay for others. by the way, europe has shortages of drugs, doctors and nurses. i live in europe, i know. the whole system is on the edge of collapsing due to it being crap.

  • I wish you europeans and canadians would get your stories straight. some say it's great, some say it's crap, some say it's crap- but still better than the US. where can I get a definitive (non-biased) answer?

  • Comment removed

  • People say its crap because you have wait a bit for care, other than that its a great system.

  • USA is ranked 37th. In Quality, speed, and satisfaction is #1.

  • Go find one example of non-profit incentive saving money. Good luck.

  • "You would pay less, because it isn't run at a profit incentive. Billions of dollars would be saved in America every year." This would be true if it were that simple...IT IS NOT. If there is no profit incentive, then there is also no incentive to reduce waste. The federal government has no competition and therefore it has no incentive not to waste money. Please don't waste your time telling me the fed. gov. doesn't waste money. Without profit incentive there is no efficiency/effectiveness..

  • another thing, how much did you donate to help poor people who are sick? just curious, since you care so much about them.

  • I see that this debate is getting personal. I have found that when people are unable to articulate good rebuttals they are forced to question the character of the person debating in a desperate attempt to make their point. The answer to your question is yes I have donated and volunteered. But isn't it sad when people in this rich country have to look for charity in order to get health, something that they should be entitled to and are entitled to in many other countries with less money?

  • i was just curious. no, it's sad when people are coerced into doing something with the fruits of their work and achievements. that's sad.

  • (1) Your belief in absolute individualism was left behind over a century ago. During the late 19th and early 20th century, governments began to provide public services such as education with money collected for taxes (or as you call it people being coerced into doing something with the fruits of their work). In the long run this enabled countries to become more competitive and economically wealthy b/c of their highly educated populations. The US and W. Europe are examples.

  • 2)The use of tax money for roads and infrastructure has greatly helped our economy and development. Why should health care be any different? A healthier population that benefits from preventive medicine and universal health care will not only save us money in the long run but make us more economically competitive. You are on the losing side of this battle. Sooner or later the US will have to follow the example of the rest of the first world whose people would not trade their system for ours.

  • I will apologize for my previous comment about firing him if Obama the changes his mind and puts it into law.

  • Effective medical but notuniversal... time to fire him -he is on the lobbyists side.

  • I want a change we can believe in! Health care fore everyone for the USA! come on people we need to take care of our each other and have a universal health care. WE pay 3 trillion for a war we can't win and we won't do anything about health care. What is wrong with america?

  • lol, how about you stop overconsuming and you will afford drugs and healthcare. here's a nice thought. you make a healthcare cost per capita(not percentage taxation since everyone benefits from the same thing) and every insured person under the single payer system pays exactly the same thing. that wouldn't be that bad.

  • Obama sounds like more of the same to me. No change. "We cant get out of iraq and Afghanistan too quickly", "we cant pass single payer too quickly", etc. etc. Bla, bla, bla. Same as Bush. Just as I've been saying all along, no change, business as usual. We never learn.

  • So a government run public option is the same...ahh Understood.

  • Obama just picked Tom Daschle to be Secretary of Health and Human Services. He is for Universal Healthcare.

It's not going to be HR-676 immediately, it's going to take some time, but we'll get there.

Too many jobs will be lost if we do it too fast - it will be a slower but smoother transition.

  • What Obama Could do is get HR-676 Passed right away with the condition that it won't take place until January 2011

  • I agree! It would be sort of a time table to reach HR-676.

Sort of like the time tabel we were asking from the Bush administration for a complete withdraw from Iraq....

But hopefully with more time sensitive results.

  • when BARACK OBAMA takes office on 01/20/09 as President he will sign HR-676 into law!

  • That will be great!

Finally we will be only at an equal point that the rest of Europe was at the end of WWII

  • I remember quite clearly when Obama talked about a single payer healthcare system. In fact, it was one of the fist things about him that got my attention; and it was one of the first things I noticed him back-peddling on once his run for office really heated up and the corrupt health insurance industry started plying him with money and pressure to change his stance.

Obama? You're either with the people, or you're with the greedy, out of control corporate industial machine.

  • Let's start over from scratch with the infrastructure that's already in place. Nobody- with the exception of greedy corporate management- needs to loose their jobs over this.

  • C'MON!!! The only improvement is Universal Health Care! How do we improve the insurance industries? Lower the death rate? Let's only let 10,000 people die this year rather than 18,000! There's a solution!

  • buddelmann1986: you're right.

They budget is there. The government already shells out over $7000.00 per capita per year for healthcare which is twice what Canada allots; and they have universal healthcare.

Anyone who's done serious business with any for-profit health insurance company knows how corrupt they are. They allowing people to die in the name of bonuses and dividends.

  • before this obama was for universal health care. but now that the insurance companies have shelled out more money to him for this election than anybody else, we must "improve" the existing policies. Let me run! I will do it dirt cheap! although by law i have to wait 13 more years.
