  • Wow, I just logged into this account after many years and I can't believe the overwhelming response that this video has received here. For all those wondering, I started training at the International Wing Chun Academy about 4 years ago (not long after I posted this video) and have been training on and off ever since. It has been a fantastic journey and I've learned a lot about the 'hidden' or internal forces of Wing Chun which are behind many of the spectacular feats shown in this video.

  • people who say to just use a gun because it's more deadly... what if u don't have a gun? or what if ur fighting someone who is stronger than you and u loose the gun. this will come in handy then won't it?

  • nice!!!

  • What did they place on the scale?

  • So much Qi! Amazing!

  • Can anybody tell me how Sigung Tin managed to resist the push from the other guy? I know its structure, but is Tin standing with his stance on his HEELS, balls of his feet, or the center of his feet? thx!

  • 256 people got their Arses smashed by 3,940 Wing Chung Artist! xD

  • Excellent DEMONSTRATION.

  • woooowzer

  • i would really like to figure this one out

  • Until you touch arms with these guy's you don't understand the power they can gernerate.

  • wing chun it's difficultyou need too combine your legs power and your elbow power.

  • Wing Chun Για παντα!

    Wing Chun For ever!

    Greetings from Greece!

  • 0:54 that was awesome

  • when white man learns to fly haha

  • this is amazing. how do they gener

  • you gotta love Yip!

  • gotta love Yip!

  • All viewer understand it. wing chun kung fu is great.

dont under estimate it. cause u under estimate it. you so much under estimate

    yourself.

  • Many believe that martial arts do not work, nor in self-defense or in life, because there are guns in the middle, but number one, it is illegal to carry weapons without a license, in addition to where we will get them? and number two, martial arts are self defense (hand to hand and / or weapons), mental training and more.

They dont need it, but imagine a master of martial arts combined with a weapon? agility and others make it almost unstoppable.

  • 1:01 AMAZING

  • haha, first kick in the video, awesome! laughed my ass of!

  • AWESOME!

  • I dont know much about wing chun, could someone tell me how wing chun fights against grappling like BBJ? or can people be immovable like that master too?

  • hahahaha. very, short, economic, soft, hard, fast, slow.... this is WING CHUN

  • Awsome punching power... I think in this kind of punch the arm extends 100% instead of just 90% like in boxing...?

  • insane.

  • it is all magic, they work with the devils at these high levels, after two or three degres (or Dan in some other martial arts) they have to do with devils and some moves, meditations and some forms of trainings are pure idolatry

  • where can you do this in australia? i really want to learn!

  • We did a similar thing a my school a while ago. My sifu is about 5'4 and weights probably about 140 lbs while I'm around 200 lbs. He told me to push him as hard as I could and I couldn't budge him. Anyone who says it's fake, believe me, I was really pushing hard! When your structure is good and you're properly directing the energy into the ground, you're as solid as a tree trunk! I love Wing Chun!

  • im the best in wing chun kung fu!!

  • I can do this naturally, I don't need somebody to teach me this, been doing this since I was a kid.

  • Thats some amazing shit, how did he manage to change all those energy to the ground

  • that is all in the mind xd must take lotta meditation cuz i just see him pushing the other guy and the other guy goes flying as if a car hit him ;/ awesome

  • Wing Chun is great.

  • (0:59) o.O XTREME!

  • Bruce Lee mastered these techniques before he turned 30 years of age. Bruce Lee must be a genius who worked really really hard.

  • 1:05 to 1:07 EPIC MOVE

  • wow

  • That's convinced me, I'm doing Wing Chun.

  • Where can I learn Wing Chun ? I have been finding for a long time..

  • ------很富娛性, 多謝分享 ~~~

  • i guess his arm, core and leg muscles would be contracted to channel the energy rather than absorb it? hmmmm this look like a very fufilling Kung Fu

  • This is not about contracting, but about relaxing... that's where the power comes from. But you have to see it to believe it. It's really in relaxation.

  • @Toro76aus nothing is contracted, it's the power of relaxation and the projection of dead weight, combined with the opponents force.

  • @Toro76aus sorry to say it, but they're actually relaxed, not contracted. If they were contracted the force would be able to act upon them, so they must be, literally, completely relaxed.

  • @Toro76aus Quite the opposite actually. I train at this academy, and emphasis is on relaxtion and eliminating all tension.

  • @Toro76aus quite the opposite actually. we learn to relax our muscles to channel the energy. tension causes your force to bounce off

  • i was on the youtube ufc channel and saw this on there .wonder how brock lesnar would fairagainst someone his same size using this against him.

  • <3 I can't wait to go to the Acadamy on the Gold Coast...Going to be doing my Degree in Sports Coaching - Wing Chun there :D

    R.I.P Sifu Jim Fung

  • I didn't know he'd died until reading this comment.

I used to study under one of his students.

I'll never get to meet him. :-(

  • Low center of gravity and proper stance, gotta love it.

  • Ich bin slebst in Wing Chung Kung Fu

    und es ist geil !!!

  • This Kung Fu technique brings out the best in you. You find your real power.

  • its ving tsun

  • there are several spelling variations, but it's all the same. It's pronounced Wing Chun all the same though.

  • No, it isn't.

  • in NA/EU it can be spelt as Wing Tsun / Wing Tsung.. tho the original and real name is Wing Chun.. bet you dont know where the ''wing'' word comes from eh :3 ''ving'' wouldnt make any sence

  • no it's wing chun.

  • I'm not sure, it uses some other kung fu principles as well?

00:59 didn't seem like wing chun

  • you are so dumb,

i feel that you've disrespected wing chun by your words, before you comment think, if you doubt GOOGLE it.. if your dumb enough put yourself on fire. Dumb Ass

  • @enginetai It's Wing Chung, Ving Tsun, Wing Tsun.

Different name. Same Theory. Same Martial Art Family!

Greetings to my European Wing Chung Brothers & Sisters from Hong Kong! :]

  • this just show martial arts is not all about moves.

stance and balance is important in a fight

  • to be honest I really dont like wing chun that much and I thought it sucks but this video is really showing the good parts of wing chun, my favorite part of wing chun are the parts of them blocking a kick with a kick and the sticky part, other then that I dont like wing chun but this video is great

  • Yeah Wing Chung is a great system, its not bullshit as many MMA lover claim. Once you start to train, after some months you start to feel you're body acts very logical in a fight and you'll perform the movements of the forms. Maybe about some years when I finished all 12 grades I'll start with Tang Lang Praying Mantis Kung Fu (Northern) style.

Its great how something old still can be working in the modern days.

  • wow..... its very cool

  • just gos to show wat human can do if well trained

  • he used his energy from his foot and with a slight twist of his hip transfered his energy onto his arms.

  • at 1:23....LMAO!!!

  • I never studied with the man but he was very well respected for a reason, and as someone who trains in the Chinese martial arts, RIP Sifu Fung. *bows*

  • Yes , he is a decent teacher.

  • i am impressed by the power of the first kick.

  • maybe the mahgong peice gave him extra grip??

  • correction, wing CHUN kung fu is the most efficient martial art ever

  • I suppose when smart people spend ages perfecting something, even weaker people can become very powerful thru the use of that honed technique.

  • Thanks for the demo. aloha from Hawaii SifuZ

  • very nice demonstration

  • very nice demonstration

  • Could someone please explain to me the last one, the rest is all simple physics. But the last one, If that guy was pushing as hard as he can he could knock him off.

  • The stance he was using causes his feet to be rooted to the ground. We do this in my Wing Chun class its for training your legs. You point your toes inward and your hips foward. However, ive never done it with just one leg!

  • Sigung was relaxing and redirecting the force down through his body and into the ground. Doing it through a small surface area like a mahjong piece is amazingly difficult

  • Sigung Chu Shong Tin was redirecting the force of the push down so the more harder the guy pushed the more force would be reapplied to him.

In physics: F(net) = 0. .:no acceleration .: no movement.

  • As stupid as it sounds it was probably measuring the force in lbs that he was generating holding the other guy back, if you root you can change the direction of the force from pushing you back to pushing you into the ground. At least thats what my Sifu keeps telling me.

  • no prob Alex. The last one shows how WC receives force and transfers it into the ground. Our stance uses the earth as foundation, and any force applied to our body will be pushed into the ground through our legs, which is why they had a scale (to measure the weight of force being pushed down. So in WC force doesn't travel passed our body, it immediately goes down, which is why it's harder to knock a WC practitioner over.

  • It's physics as well.

Human body is not hard rock. There are many muscles working together, you call it muscle coordination. He is a master and I guess he have a stance that can transfer all the force from the guy's hand (nearly parallel to the ground) to his standing leg (nearly perpendicular to the ground, , which also create more friction force to keep him stay on the mahjong piece)

That's why they place the scale under him, to see how the force has transfer to his leg.

  • The old man was directing the pressure he received into the ground.

  • Im not 100% sure. but i think it has something to do with Sigung being able to relax. If he doesnt fight the force with his muscles then it just travels into the ground. I think thats why he was standing on a set of scales, to show that as the guy pushed harder, the reading on the scale increased. I think Sigung can also do this without making the reading on the scale move, but i think thats much more advanced. Please correct me if im wrong though.

  • @BigAl753 There would always be a reading because he is sending the energy downwards into the ground...So the scale will feel pressure or there would be no reason to use it. Its is there to read how much force the big is using. He is redirecting it....which is the main focus in ving tsun....all energy is redirected to the ground or released from the ground. The ving tsun wall.

  • The old man in black is standing on one foot on a scale. The scale is there to show that the other guy is actually using force to try and push him over.

  • He was. It is about redirecting forward force in to the ground.

  • It's body structure. The body is aligned in such a way that the force going into the arms is spread through the body to the legs and back into the floor, that's why he's on scales, to show how much power his structure is essentially absorbing. Tis one of the many strengths of wing chun :)

  • a big part of wing chun is to center your chi. so the old master just grounded his energy so the other guy cudn't push him off.

  • i can, mail me!

Jim Fung was an awesome martial artist.

  • With a perfect stance and perfect absorbing technique u can absorb a lot of power. Like that guys is doing. He directs all of that power through his body to the floor which makes scale to show much more than his own weight is.

  • Well the master is a mster! He's actually redirecting the force of the push towards the ground, so the big guy is kinda pushing the ground

  • it was a scale to show how the sifu was grounding the energy... the scale maxes out.

  • Wing Tzun Kung Fu is the greatest martial art.

  • @capperz412 hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...................

  • That is amazing. I can't believe my eyes, and the movements clearly show it's not a fake.

  • beautifully done..Great Sifus..

    Wing Chun is sensational.

its not about stength..coz strength does not matter..

    its technique..the concept

the centre, direct and the breathing

its about wing chun's Tsu nim tao (little idea)

    Well done sifu'S

  • best wing chun video i have seen lately

  • Excellent

  • This is amazing, i have a friend who did wing chun for a couple years and he's shown me some stuff but he is nowhere near this level.

  • In a real fight these guys would mess you up lol awesome!

  • I have practiced wingchun for years. You can not use wingchun in a full contact sport because people would get badly injured. The internal power and techniques require that wingchun be used as a last resort to a real combat situation.

  • I dare any keyboard warrior or MMA 'fighter' to view 1:02 and tell me there's no such thing as chi !

  • actually i dont think it has anything to do with chi, wing chun guys will probably tell you the same.i think it has more to do with disrupting someones center of gravity but not att al mystical stuff like chi wich chunners dont promote i believe

  • The stuff 1 minute 2 secs in is fake, they are probly using a wire. I dont care how skilled a practitioner you are you simply cant get an object moving faster than the thing which you use to move it with..

and at no point did he move that fast.

  • Sad to hear that Sifu Jim died.

I spent about 12 months there about 10 years ago, so wasn't very advanced, and I don't weigh much. Had a situation where I used one of the pushing techniques on this big guy and sent him flying through a doorway. The best thing was the stunned look on his face.

It's really a good form of self defence, especially if you are not very strong. Wish I had the time to go back there.

  • Man the force that Wing Chun masters have are by all means powerful sensitive in the ways of CHI just like Aikido.

  • Wing Chun is awesome. Takes a long time to learn sensitivity, but once you have it down, your reflexes are lightning fast.

  • this video is very cool

  • wing chun at it's best what a great demonstration

  • RIP Sifu Jim, thanks for passing on the genuine art in such a humble and gentlemantly way. You are missed everyday here at the IWCA :(.

  • Don't mess with Wing Tsun martial artists...EVER!!! They will kill you without breaking a sweat. And trust me, this isn't fake. I've experienced the power, speed, and timing of Wing Tsun.

  • wow... I would really love to learn what they did at 1:04

    That's just incredible

  • The world is not ready for that. MMA fears that. Only the selected knows its power. I well know it. That is why I say and again. Some fighters bring spirits to cheat. But a strong technique will overcome that. Because its unknown. Few movie shows it. But are ignore.

  • A lot of people say "you wouldn't use this in the street." Well, why not? If you kicked your attacker like he does in the first few seconds, wouldn't that stop a potential fight dead in its tracks? Who's going to fuck with you if you can drop someone like that?

  • this is some tekken sh*t!!

  • omg what r all these ratings on the comments

  • man that old guy at the end was a beast!

  • This is the academy where I used to train, Si Gung Tsui (the gentleman on the set of scales) is amazing and a thoroughly lovely fellow. I saw a demonstration at the academy years ago and was lucky enough to get my picture taken standing next to him, he is one of only four top Yip Man students, so that's my brush with fame, great video clip.

    R.I.P Sifu Jim Fung

  • gods.... enough said

  • RIP Grandmaster Jim Fung

  • A gun is more lethal ;) But you have to intermediate force before that level of force is justifiable. You can't blow someone's head off for aggressively asking for change and invading your personal space. But you give them a quick warning slap in the brachial nerve to make them think twice about grabbing you. Guns and knives should be studied but there are times when their use simply isn't appropriate or advisable. - Police officer, firearms trainer, martial artist, former Airborne Infantry.

  • wing chun kung fu is truly amazing

  • WOW

  • Perfect demonstration of our own innate power. Everyone can harness their own Chi, to effectively battle any negative force, either material or Spiritual.

  • Oh ..it was a kick...

  • Shit , i blinked and i missed the punch, no joke

  • if u have not experience the power of the sticky hand then don't say anything about it

  • Ah Very nice video. I personally Practice under Leung Ting's branch of WC. But Skill is skill :)

Jim Fung is very talented. Aww man, being tossed by those types of punches really is amazing.

  • Very impressive.

  • My dad (black belt 4) teaches my sister (hiyaa123) and Myself Wing Chun. IT KICKS ASS!!!

My dad is talented but not as good as this guy, JESUS!!!

  • 00:26...I'm sure this would stop an attack by a gang, if they saw you drop the lead guy like this.

  • that standing on an egg was awesome

  • The ice cube bit at the end is really blowing my mind... how is that even physically possible? The coefficient of static friction between the ice cube and the surface is so small...

(maximum force of static friction) = (coefficient)x(normal force[weight])

    What am I missing?

I mean, I take WC, but do I get to learn how to defy physics while I'm at it?

  • He's got the power!

    No doubt :P

  • The key to all of those displays is structure.

  • I wonder, is this possible for a skinny old person like him? I used to train mma, im a bit sceptical about this, how does he do that???

  • I like it :)

  • Wow, I'm signing up for Wing Chun classes soooooooooooon.

  • man this video is dam good really and the best is that it hasnt showed up a moron yet who sais "this is fake, this is shit, i prefer a gun cuz on street is more deadly"... i just HATE THAT CRAP MAN I DO HATE IT

  • So not fake. Believe me I've seen this kind of stuff in person and even been on the recieving end of some demonstrations like this, lol

  • I've been that guy who gets thrown back once or twice in my training...

  • All viewer understand it. Wing Chun Kung Fu is great.

Don't under estimate it. cause u under estimate it. you so much under estimate

    yourself.

  • @onibaku3 257 ppl are thinking about that, but they got owned by the moves in the video, so they r quiet now :)

    wing chun rocks yay

  • @onibaku3 257 ppl are thinking about that, but they were owned by the moves in the video, so they r quiet now :)

    wing chun rocks

  • FANTASTIC. The power they can use is mind blowing

  • @yellowcat17 hehe mind blowing

  • Nirpal24, I agree, but that is what I do when demonstrating. If you use your energy as you would on the street it would cause internal damage so you demonstrate it as a shove rather than axplosive energy.

  • Impresionante!very nice video

  • fantastica dimostrazione dell' efficacia di questa tecnica superiore....Grande WING TSUN

  • whow , that was AWESOME!!! x)

  • dude i gotta get back to shis shit.

  • Me too, been doin it for five years, now like 1.5 yrs off it and lately ive been fighting invisible opponents every day everytime im bored lol! need my class like air))

  • The last demonstration is a exelent illustration of beeing root in the ground.

  • holy hell thats awesome!

  • That's what I call power

  • Best Wing chun demo vid i have seen in a while. Thats what its all about !!!

  • There is no better Wing Chun practioner in the world than Sigung Tsui Sheng Tin.

  • a lot of people thing wing chun kungfu is crap have they veer studied it!!! im 1st dan kickboxer and 2nd dan kungfu and kunfu is the best ive studied it dosent get the credit it fully deserves and funny thing is a woman created it who would have expected that lol

  • I really agree with his style of wing chun

  • This version of one inch punch shows the explosive power of wing chun's punch visibly, When used on soft body tissue eg. solar plexus, the person will not fly back, but instead the force will be driven into the guts and it will not be pretty inside of the body. Very lethal, use wisely!

  • @kq87 True. it is only ever demonstrated as more of a push, because if it were turned into a punch, the shock to the body would be much more. The guys flying back have it easy. BTW I have experienced this punch a number of times and it is pretty terrifying. I could hardly sleep all night once because my chest felt like it was burning. I got good enough to slap a huge guy on the same principle in the stomach and down he went, just a light slap. I didn't even realize I was doing it.

  • Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

  • a good one inch punch...hes actually punching the person not pushing them

  • its strange how its always looks muddled like that but ive had it done to me numerous times and its plainly obvious that it is a punch

  • @nirpal24 It's still a good bit of a push, but I know what you mean. if it were a straight out punch, all the energy would be concentrated inside and the guy would just drop straight down. The energy is a lot different when you are just demonstrating.

  • Ultimate self-defense

  • all i can say is holy shit thats some powerful ass shit. lol.

  • R I P Sifu Jim.

You were/are and truly great man.

    ThankYou

    :)

  • now this is the shit

  • Ok, I can see other demonstrations where one could argue (they only played along), or (mirrors and string), but pushing someone into a crowd like that??? You coun't fall back like that if you wanted to.....

Dang, this is freaking impressive. I'm ashamed to be in TKD now...

  • I understand what you say about being ashamed to be in TKD :P

  • Lols yeah i was in tkd and changed to wing chun a while back xD

  • Don't be ashamed of TKD. I found out that i didn't like the style a long time ago, but my kicks are really fast because of it. It has cool shit, but wing chun is more effective all around and in terms of practicality

  • lol yea i told my friend the SAM EXACT THING, hes in junf fu i take tkd lol.. fuck it tho man bet you still got some skill!, peace

  • Absolutely. Multi-decade wing chun exponents can demonstrate flinging attackers further than they could ever leap. There is a locker in my old academy with a deep impression of two shoulder-blades in it. Probably not the most responsible place to demonstrate it - but it's good for a visual demonstration of the power that can be generated by focusing less on the mass and more on the acceleration element of limb force.
