Something I will always love about Monte's style of playing. Is that his guitar solo's sing lyrics by themselves. Just listening to the story that he tells using the strings. His lyrics are powerful, always have been, but it's the story he tells through those solo's that always get me hooked.

I lucked out and saw him on that Austin City Limits show and since then i've been in awe. I've played for about 30 years too and can't imagine the time and effort he's had to put in to pull off what he does on acoustic. His physical hand strength alone must be something. I've check his website now and he just doesn't seem to get out to the east, most of his audience is out west, which make me want to hit myself in the head, I lived out there for 10 years and never tried to see him.
