They lie to you, they think youre little children who can't think, and you know what, they're right! So I'm telling you, go do some research. Grow some intelligence. Use your reasoning abilities and inner discernment. If you guys can't even discern the simple truth about 911, well why should I take anything you say about anything seriously, including this first contact scenario? What evidence do you have that it's staged? All you have is a blind skepticism, because your discernment is limited.
@JohnJancar It's just getting more and more obvious. You have some kind of delusions of grandure, thinking your the smart one while we're all just naive sheep being fooled and believing what "they" tell us. Do I honestly seem like the kind of person who just accepts what people tell me as fact without doing research? I doubt it. I want you to ask yourself how well you actually did your research. Did you actually look at anything that tried to prove you wrong? I bet you didn't.
@MegaAwesomePossem Why don't you just admit it, you were duped. You bought the lie, hook, line and sinker. You were duped about 911, you were duped about Iraq, they played you like a fiddle. And yes, I am proud of myself that I was able to see through it, because I read the documents, I knew their plans, I knew they were manipulating the public. And how do I know this first contact wasn't staged? Because I trust my discernment abilities, more than yours. And I see no evidence that it was staged
@JohnJancar And I'm sure you're discernment abillities are great, eventhough that's not actually a thing. Everybody can discern between things, you idiot. What you probably mean is that you trust your reasoning more than mine, to which I say, what's your reasoning? What evidence did you see that proves to you that it wasn't staged?
@MegaAwesomePossem My reasoning is, I haven't seen anything that would suggest that it was staged. I see people having an idea, oh this might be staged, because it is so incredible to them. There is no real evidence at all, and the guy was adamant about saying, I couldn't sleep with myself if I knew I was duping these poor people. Which is more than I can say for those neo-cons, because unlike this fellow here, they simply don't care if they hurt people, or lie to people. Cant you discern that?
@JohnJancar What makes it so obvious he's telling the truth? Why isn't it possible that the local people are duping him into believing it's first contact when it's not? And what makes you think the only reason other people think it's staged is because it's "too good to be true". Did you even watch the whole documentary? They keep telling stories and giving evidence that suggests it to not be a first contact. How about the god damn beads the tribesmen are wearing, that come from western people?
@MegaAwesomePossem The question was, whether or not this is some staged event, with these guys pretending to be all angry, just to scare a couple of people. I think that is far-fetched. And yes I watched the whole documentary, and I don't see any solid proof that it was staged. The tribesmen had beads, but they were friendly. The ones who were hostile were not part of the same group as the other guys. And I have no reason to doubt the guy, he seems like a good person, and I will take his word.
@JohnJancar There is no possible way that you have the information required to say for sure whether it was staged or not. The only reasonable thing you can do is reserve judgement. All I can say is that all the evidince points towards it being staged, look at my previous comment.
@MegaAwesomePossem Well if you don't think it's staged, why are you arguing with me for? See I have enough self belief in my intelligence and reasoning skills to make a determination about whether or not things are real. If you don't, well that's fine. You can say, I can't know, so I won't make a judgment about it, well I don't think that way. And if it is proven that it was indeed staged, I will acknowledge it, and say I was wrong. Until then, I will keep my position that it wasn't staged.
@JohnJancar The problem here is, you have too much confidence in your intelligence which is messing with your reasoning skills. You think that for some reason you can know for sure, whilst nobody here has the information required to make that decision. But you obviously think you're smarter than everyone else, so that makes you think you can make that decision.
@JohnJancar And btw, what makes you think you can hold the belief that it's not staged without enough evidence, but other people can't hold the belief that it is staged without enough evidence?
@MegaAwesomePossem Well I don't think it's staged, and I will continue to say it wasn't staged, and if you don't like it, well just ignore my comment. I really don't care to be going back and forth with you. But it's clear to me, that it isn't staged, and I will not apologize for my belief in myself, or my willingness to determine whether something is real or not. If you want to say it isn't, because you don't know, well fine. But clearly, it was staged or not..and I will say, it wasn't staged.
@JohnJancar You got it right first, "i think it's not staged". Exactly. You think, you don't know. You can reach a conclusion based on where the evidence points you, but you cannot know for sure that conclusion is the correct one. You don't know if it was staged, and I don't know if it was staged. The only people who know are the tour guide, those tribesmen, and the locals. That was the point I was trying to make.
Okay, this is absolutely genuine. It's just a sad part of human nature, that when confronted with information or experience that appears incredible, people just can't believe it, so they have to look for ways to debunk it. ''Oh scam! This is too incredible to be real!'' As if the universe is some dull place, and anything incredible or amazing must be a hoax. Yea, everything is staged, oh yea! Everything except 911, oh that wasn't a staged event! God, what are going to do with these people lol
@FmMan33 No, your discernment is too lacking for your own good. Clearly this isn't staged. What makes you think this is staged? The ''its too good to be true'' idea is an idea for people who never have anything good happen to them, and it's precisely that belief system that keeps good things from coming to them.
@JohnJancar You and everyone else here only has limited information. You cannot say for sure that it wasn't staged just as much as other people can say it was. Judging by your subtle comment about 9/11 being staged or something, you're most likely very young and obviously aren't using very good rational thinking methods to reach reasonable conclusions. That is all.
@MegaAwesomePossem What research have you done on that? Clearly very little, because anyone who actually looks into it, will see that it's clear 911 was a staged event. Talk about operating from very little information. And I will not refrain from making a judgment on the legitimacy of this event, because I believe in my own intelligence and discerning ability to be able to distinguish if something is real or not. And its clear to me this not a staged. So don't come at me with your nonsense.
@JohnJancar Tell me, what evidence do you have that 9/11 was a staged event? And did you ever think of the amount of people that would have to know about it, but are willing to look passed thousands of their fellow countrymen dying without saying a word?
@MegaAwesomePossem Well how about this for evidence. Back in 2000, people like Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Pearl, William Kristol, and other what can be called "Neo-Cons" wrote up documents for a think tank they created, called the Project For A New American Century. In these documents, they outlined their plan to start "multiple theater wars" using the American military as the "cavalry" for their "core mission" to "transform the world" towards "more global American dominance".
@MegaAwesomePossem They also said, "this process of transformation would likely be a long one, absent some catalyzing and catastrophic event, like a new Pearl Harbor". The people who wrote this, came into power with the Bush Administration, in January 2001. By September, look what happened...what George Bush called at the time "our Pearl Harbor". And everything they wrote about started to happen, they started multiple wars, they even wrote how they will use the excuse of Saddam to go into Iraq.
@JohnJancar And check my other comment. Thousands of americans would have to be in on it, and they'd be willing to be quiet about their own government killing thousands of it's civillians. Why would they do that? Money? Do you have any idea how much that would cost? If that were the case, it would be obvious.
@MegaAwesomePossem And people like you say, oh there is no conspiracy, they wouldn't do that! You fool, if only you knew. If only you had done some research. If only you wouldn't just make assumptions, and make an ass of yourself, by saying none of this could be happening, when it clearly is happening. So don't you come at me and question my discernment about what is real or not. I am not stupid, I would know if something is staged or not, which is more than I can say for you.
@JohnJancar I'm sure theres people who would do it if they thought they'd get away with it. Thing is they can't. And answer what I said, stop dodging my argument.
@MegaAwesomePossem Did you even listen? Go read the document yourself, it's on their website. They don't even hide it, they just know people like you won't go research. And that is enough proof for me, if they write about how they need a catastrophic event to go start wars in the Middle East and increase American dominance, and then it happens...well I will put 2 and 2 together. And you say they would be caught, they have been caught! Just people like you, don't want to acknowledge the evidence.
@JohnJancar And that sounds like something someone who is operating a massive conspiracy would do to you? Just rely on the fact that people will probably be too lax to research, so they just leave the evidence lying around? That actually explains alot, you obviously think you've got it all figured out. You're the smart one, and everyone else is a gullible sheep who won't see the truth, right? And I bet you just love thinking about that.
@JohnJancar And what the hell does 9/11 have to do with you knowing whether this first contact was staged or not? There is a rediculous amount of evidence in this documentary that shows it to not be a first contact, so that really makes me question your reasoning skills.
@MegaAwesomePossem I was saying that as an example, of how foolish people are, and thanks for proving my point. They will say something like this first contact is a staged event, when clearly it isn't, but say..oh 911 isn't a staged event, when clearly it is. I question your discernment abilities, and it is no wonder events like 911 can be perpetrated against the people, it's no wonder they can just like about WMDs to go into Iraq, people are naive and dumb..they don't have reasoning abilities.
@JohnJancar Thanks for proving my point. "people are naive and dumb", except for you, of course. You've got it all figured out, i can't imagine how much your life must suck that you have to delude yourself so much to make yourself seem important. How about you go do some actual research, in a way that is in accordance with the scientific method, without being a biased child, and then tell me your conclusion.
@MegaAwesomePossem I've done the research, I've seen what they wrote, and everything they wrote has come to pass. And because of that, I wasn't fooled when they outright lied and said Saddam Hussein had WMDs, and nuke could go off any minute, so we must invade that country and take their oil. You guys were fooled, you like children, went along with it, until the evidence proved there was no WMDs, and you realized you were duped. Well, thats your fault, buddy, if only you had known better.
@JohnJancar Answer my question. Did you look at anything that tried to prove you wrong? Because if you didn't, you research is just simply horrible. And nobody said a nuke could go off at any minute. They said they had intell suggesting the pressence of WMD's. Maybe that intell was wrong, maybe somebody screwed up. Maybe it's all a big conspiracy about oil. Ask yourself what the most likely answer is, while I ask myself what the fuck this has to do with 9/11 being an inside job, or this first
@MegaAwesomePossem Look, they wrote before Bush even got to power, how they were going to use the fear card against Saddam Hussein to go into Iraq. They wrote about how they would use a catastrophic event to start wars in the Middle East. And what they wrote started happening. That is all the proof I need. So obviously I wouldn't believe them when they said Saddam had WMDs. They said it was a "slam dunk" they just lied. And what evidence do you have that this first contact event was staged?
@JohnJancar And could you stop going on about fucking saddam hussein and WMD's? I don't give a crap about the stuff your government does, i'll worry about my own.
@JohnJancar And what do you mean "clearly it isn't"? Do you have information I don't? I'm watching the documentary right now, and to me it's not clear at all that it's a first contact. Please tell me what made you reach that conclusion.
@JohnJancar I bet you didn't. I bet you saw one deplorable documentary like loose change, and accepted all that nonsense as fact without looking at any counter argument or evidence. Clearly a case of confirmation bias.
I'm surprised the tour guide lets them film it, especially letting BBC film it. If he's hoaxing, he should be nervous about the risk of being exposed as a fake. He could easily make a "no camera" rule on the basis that he doesn't want anyone to see the footage and get any clues about where they are.
find it abit wierd they would allow pictures considering they wouldnt actually know what a camera was. To them it could have been a weapon, they wouldnt stand there and allow that without being to afraid.
@CarpMagic95 yeah but the only weapons they know and possibly think of are long wooden sticks with sharp tips either arrows or spears etc so if it didnt look like that they wouldnt think it was a weapon... i still think this could be fake though
I agree. These "unspoiled natives" and the tour guide's reaction to "finding out that they are hostile" seem about as authentic as if the backpackers encountered a tribe of werewolves. My guess is that the tour guide has paid off this tribe to act angry around every group of tourists for a few minutes, run away, and then return the following morning to pose for pictures.
@CarpMagic95 Oops. Sorry. When I wrote my comment, I had not yet watched to the end of this video. I guess it became pretty explicit by the end. Please ignore my previous comment
@ObeyBunny hehe was 8 months ago man since i wrote my comment to you, i had to actually watch this entire video again to even remember what the hell it was about. Anyway never mind im sure you commented on what you thought was right at the time, ive stopped having a go at people or writing comments when i disagree now days hehe ;o).. take it easy :oD
@CarpMagic95 the guy is just standing there with a square black thing up to his face. why should they be afraid of this? why would they think it's a weapon. if a guy is holding a canteen, should they be afraid of this too? there's nothing threatening about the camera; them just standing there isn't so strange
fuckind dumb asses, they go on a first contact tour, and when they do actual meet native tribes they think its all a joke? they're fuckin lucky they didnt get speared and cooked for dinner stupid fucking ppl thnik they're all safe in their civilized world. that was very stupid of them. those ppl rule the jungle. they have their own rules, like the vid said that particular tribe has already met westerners b4. there are other tribes that are more dangerous and less friendly that would kill them
@coolasacoldsummer In a way nature did put us on the Moon. Because of natural selection humans are smarter now than their ancestors. If it wasn't for the harshness of nature and everything trying to kill early humans, they would never have adapted larger brains. Civilization is an extension of a family. Families exist in all types of species, our ape cousins have families and play social roles much like us. When humans are grouped together in a larger social body they are more likely to survive.
@coolasacoldsummer If you could build a home on the moon and sustain yourself, then that would be natural. If civilization isn't natural, it would not have happened. Civilized societies have been around for thousands of years. Humans become smarter and they adapt, learn, and grow. That is the natural state of a human -- ingenuity.
man, you can just smell the bullshit from everyone thats been shown in this show so far even through the screen of a computer, lol at this point i'm assuming that the bbc knows it's bullshit and is trying to make a bullshit show about bullshit. in the last scene of this part 2, you can tell there is somone off cam that causes teh host to strongly pretend that he thinks this is a real encounter
ok iam not buying it because first of all, there is entirely no reason to cluster so close to each other whilst hunting/warding off foreigner. second, why would they be standing to close the foreginers for they must have been scared, confused or angry. third, why would the tour guide be so laid back when contacting with experienced hunters armed with bow and arrows (notice how not one arrow fired hurt anyone). scam.
pretty sure its fake, because its must be hard to be uncontacted when you are only walking distance away from other people, i mean atleast somebody from the tribe would be curiouse enough to come out and check out whats happening.
The give away that it was indeed a hoax is the very synthetic looking wigs on their heads, and the posing for the camera. come on if i don`t know what a camera is I would never know to stop and pose for it.
@spittheproper I dunno. I think the reason a camera looks weapon like to us is because it is analogous to a gun in the sense that its typically black and the lense is somewhat barrel like. Hard to know how a tribesman would see it.
so what if the incounter wasn't a 'real' one of first contact? this BBC filmmaker is just as 'immoral' as the tour guide; it's a western etnocentrism dogma of authenticity. Look, many 'natives' have been screwed indeed by (white) settlers, but 'natives' are PEOPLE with their own choices and interests. They might have a deal going with the tour guide. That's their agency as well, to get money, to project an imagery about their 'native-ness'. They might play with our own stereotypes.
if that encounter had been genuine, the guides would have known it was coming and took off long before! the other commentator is correct, amused Papuans makin good cash of this scam!
@grentch Very true. I recently read an article that cited humanities close ties to dogs for hunting over the millenia as a direct cause of our poor ( and ever declining) sense of smell.
Certainly seems plausible. It'd be interesting to compare a westerners sense of smell to a tribesman from a tribe that never used dogs..
Rainforests aren't prone to the kind of dry spells that make for serious fire hazards.
In fact, the "slash" in slash and burn farming in the Brazilian rainforest is required because the brush needs to die and dehydrate before you can burn it.
yes your right its just unusual to be seeing someone throw a flame into a wooded area
the slash and burn farming in brazilian rainforests may be required for second degree rainforest that has already been slash and burned before but not for the primary rainforest the trees stop all light getting to any plants that are not really well suited below and you get almost clear forest floor
"the slash and burn farming in brazilian rainforests may be required for second degree rainforest..."
Sort of yes... I admit it has been a while since I looked into it, but I seem to recall that most of the SB farmers just move into areas that have been logged and they just burn the limbs and stumps. The main point though, is that fire does not propagate fast enough in healthy rainforests for you to get the kinds of wildfire that the US Southwest is prone to.
this people getting lied. this is not first contact. the tribal people seems can speak indonesian-malay language very well, which is the most spoken language in southeast asia. therefore it's easy to arrage any act if you know this language.

@JohnJancar And what the hell does 9/11 have to do with you knowing whether this first contact was staged or not? There is a rediculous amount of evidence in this documentary that shows it to not be a first contact, so that really makes me question your reasoning skills.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@MegaAwesomePossem I was saying that as an example, of how foolish people are, and thanks for proving my point. They will say something like this first contact is a staged event, when clearly it isn't, but say..oh 911 isn't a staged event, when clearly it is. I question your discernment abilities, and it is no wonder events like 911 can be perpetrated against the people, it's no wonder they can just like about WMDs to go into Iraq, people are naive and dumb..they don't have reasoning abilities.
JohnJancar 6 months ago
@JohnJancar Thanks for proving my point. "people are naive and dumb", except for you, of course. You've got it all figured out, i can't imagine how much your life must suck that you have to delude yourself so much to make yourself seem important. How about you go do some actual research, in a way that is in accordance with the scientific method, without being a biased child, and then tell me your conclusion.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@MegaAwesomePossem I've done the research, I've seen what they wrote, and everything they wrote has come to pass. And because of that, I wasn't fooled when they outright lied and said Saddam Hussein had WMDs, and nuke could go off any minute, so we must invade that country and take their oil. You guys were fooled, you like children, went along with it, until the evidence proved there was no WMDs, and you realized you were duped. Well, thats your fault, buddy, if only you had known better.
JohnJancar 6 months ago
@JohnJancar Answer my question. Did you look at anything that tried to prove you wrong? Because if you didn't, you research is just simply horrible. And nobody said a nuke could go off at any minute. They said they had intell suggesting the pressence of WMD's. Maybe that intell was wrong, maybe somebody screwed up. Maybe it's all a big conspiracy about oil. Ask yourself what the most likely answer is, while I ask myself what the fuck this has to do with 9/11 being an inside job, or this first
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@MegaAwesomePossem Look, they wrote before Bush even got to power, how they were going to use the fear card against Saddam Hussein to go into Iraq. They wrote about how they would use a catastrophic event to start wars in the Middle East. And what they wrote started happening. That is all the proof I need. So obviously I wouldn't believe them when they said Saddam had WMDs. They said it was a "slam dunk" they just lied. And what evidence do you have that this first contact event was staged?
JohnJancar 6 months ago
@JohnJancar And could you stop going on about fucking saddam hussein and WMD's? I don't give a crap about the stuff your government does, i'll worry about my own.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@JohnJancar contact being staged.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@JohnJancar Why don't you just stop feeling superior for a second, you arrogant douchebag, and answer my damn question?
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@JohnJancar And what do you mean "clearly it isn't"? Do you have information I don't? I'm watching the documentary right now, and to me it's not clear at all that it's a first contact. Please tell me what made you reach that conclusion.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
@JohnJancar I bet you didn't. I bet you saw one deplorable documentary like loose change, and accepted all that nonsense as fact without looking at any counter argument or evidence. Clearly a case of confirmation bias.
MegaAwesomePossem 6 months ago
I'm surprised the tour guide lets them film it, especially letting BBC film it. If he's hoaxing, he should be nervous about the risk of being exposed as a fake. He could easily make a "no camera" rule on the basis that he doesn't want anyone to see the footage and get any clues about where they are.

find it abit wierd they would allow pictures considering they wouldnt actually know what a camera was. To them it could have been a weapon, they wouldnt stand there and allow that without being to afraid.

@CarpMagic95 yeah but the only weapons they know and possibly think of are long wooden sticks with sharp tips either arrows or spears etc so if it didnt look like that they wouldnt think it was a weapon... i still think this could be fake though
mygodDYLAN1 9 months ago
@CarpMagic95

CarpMagic95 3 months ago
@CarpMagic95 the guy is just standing there with a square black thing up to his face. why should they be afraid of this? why would they think it's a weapon. if a guy is holding a canteen, should they be afraid of this too? there's nothing threatening about the camera; them just standing there isn't so strange
ros375 2 days ago
fuckind dumb asses, they go on a first contact tour, and when they do actual meet native tribes they think its all a joke? they're fuckin lucky they didnt get speared and cooked for dinner stupid fucking ppl thnik they're all safe in their civilized world. that was very stupid of them. those ppl rule the jungle. they have their own rules, like the vid said that particular tribe has already met westerners b4. there are other tribes that are more dangerous and less friendly that would kill them

99Maic 1 year ago
@coolasacoldsummer If you could build a home on the moon and sustain yourself, then that would be natural. If civilization isn't natural, it would not have happened. Civilized societies have been around for thousands of years. Humans become smarter and they adapt, learn, and grow. That is the natural state of a human -- ingenuity.
99Maic 1 year ago
@coolasacoldsummer The natural state of humans is anywhere they choose to live any any way they can survive.

ok iam not buying it because first of all, there is entirely no reason to cluster so close to each other whilst hunting/warding off foreigner. second, why would they be standing to close the foreginers for they must have been scared, confused or angry. third, why would the tour guide be so laid back when contacting with experienced hunters armed with bow and arrows (notice how not one arrow fired hurt anyone). scam.
sonnetxi 1 year ago 2
pretty sure its fake, because its must be hard to be uncontacted when you are only walking distance away from other people, i mean atleast somebody from the tribe would be curiouse enough to come out and check out whats happening.

The give away that it was indeed a hoax is the very synthetic looking wigs on their heads, and the posing for the camera. come on if i don`t know what a camera is I would never know to stop and pose for it.

spittheproper 2 years ago 5
@spittheproper I dunno. I think the reason a camera looks weapon like to us is because it is analogous to a gun in the sense that its typically black and the lense is somewhat barrel like. Hard to know how a tribesman would see it.
sbtech01 1 year ago
so what if the incounter wasn't a 'real' one of first contact? this BBC filmmaker is just as 'immoral' as the tour guide; it's a western etnocentrism dogma of authenticity. Look, many 'natives' have been screwed indeed by (white) settlers, but 'natives' are PEOPLE with their own choices and interests. They might have a deal going with the tour guide. That's their agency as well, to get money, to project an imagery about their 'native-ness'. They might play with our own stereotypes.
tiesthijsthejs 2 years ago 4
they have powers to decide what it means to be native themselves.

if that encounter had been genuine, the guides would have known it was coming and took off long before! the other commentator is correct, amused Papuans makin good cash of this scam!

badsign1980 2 years ago
ehhh no. Most if not all tribal types have dogs. weve had dogs as a species for 10's of 1000's of years.
grentch 2 years ago
@grentch Very true. I recently read an article that cited humanities close ties to dogs for hunting over the millenia as a direct cause of our poor ( and ever declining) sense of smell.
Certainly seems plausible. It'd be interesting to compare a westerners sense of smell to a tribesman from a tribe that never used dogs..

Rainforests aren't prone to the kind of dry spells that make for serious fire hazards.
In fact, the "slash" in slash and burn farming in the Brazilian rainforest is required because the brush needs to die and dehydrate before you can burn it.
AutodidacticPhd 2 years ago
yes your right its just unusual to be seeing someone throw a flame into a wooded area
the slash and burn farming in brazilian rainforests may be required for second degree rainforest that has already been slash and burned before but not for the primary rainforest the trees stop all light getting to any plants that are not really well suited below and you get almost clear forest floor
livinginoneness9 2 years ago
"the slash and burn farming in brazilian rainforests may be required for second degree rainforest..."
Sort of yes... I admit it has been a while since I looked into it, but I seem to recall that most of the SB farmers just move into areas that have been logged and they just burn the limbs and stumps. The main point though, is that fire does not propagate fast enough in healthy rainforests for you to get the kinds of wildfire that the US Southwest is prone to.
