Hemp fiber is excellent for jeans and work clothes. It is very durable. In fact, jeans were originally made with hemp. That being said, I do not think you will ever get anything resembling a silk shirt out of hemp.

@Bret1Maverick Actually hemp fiber is not that itchy or irritating to the skin. It feels a bit rough at first but the more it is washed the softer it become. It's a very nice breathable fabric that feels and looks absolutely great. In addition, hemp is grown without the need of pesticides or herbicides, so is very earth friendly, unlike cotton or synthetic materials. You really should try some hemp clothing. I think you will really like it.
