  • Oh thank you! I've been looking all over for stuff like this.

PS Can you add search tags please to include the kind of music this is useful for playing too. It might be easier to find.

  • This is a great video, thanks a lot.

  • Thank you! As a producer, this helps me figure out the particulars of writing a cello part.

  • that was a good teach

  • Thanks man. Decent help.

  • Hi, your videos are really well done, very helpful. Can you tell me where you found the Cello.org thread regarding "The Box"? I haven't been able to find it.

Thanks, and please keep them coming!

    Jim

  • So what about bowing 3 strings?

  • @Maestro14231 Triple and quad stops you need two bows, or you have to change slope extremely quick.

  • cool vid...thank you for adding to the knowledge base.

  • so... do you bow across multiple strings when playing chords? i do that by accident all the time LOL

  • Very Helpful

  • excellent

  • Great to see somebody else talking about Universal chord fingerings

    Here's some more:

    Dim. - 213x4

    Aug - 1234

    Dom. 7th - 1132

    Maj. 7th - 1133 (or just 1x4)

    min. 7th - 1122 (or just 14)

    min. maj. 7 0 1123

  • Nice to watch, thank you !

  • "Right?" I love this video, right? ;p

  • RIGHT!!

  • @AlamoCityCello Right.

  • I wish you were my cello teacher!!

  • maaaaan, found this so so so useful. thanks X 1000

  • Awesome stuff

  • O.k. super cute cello chat guy. But you really do look a bit like a Jazz musican on this particular day. How about doing some Jazz tunes.

  • i've been working on this, really interesting

  • wow very helpful with the whole transposing deal on cello in a rock band. This helps alot. Thanks.

  • when you are talking about playing cello in a rock band, the most important thing may be playing spicatto in perfect fifths, perfect fourths, and diminut fifths.. which is the major principle of apocalyptica based bands performance stuff.. playing chords with the whole strings maybe be more interesting, if you make one bow for all the strings in upward direction (legato) and then another movement for whole strings in downward direction

  • this is what ive been looking for, thanks a lot!

  • playing the mandocello has really helped me navigate the cello faster and better. Mandocello's are rare but mandolas have the same strings and are a lot cheaper.
