Hi, your videos are really well done, very helpful. Can you tell me where you found the Cello.org thread regarding "The Box"? I haven't been able to find it.
when you are talking about playing cello in a rock band, the most important thing may be playing spicatto in perfect fifths, perfect fourths, and diminut fifths.. which is the major principle of apocalyptica based bands performance stuff.. playing chords with the whole strings maybe be more interesting, if you make one bow for all the strings in upward direction (legato) and then another movement for whole strings in downward direction
playing the mandocello has really helped me navigate the cello faster and better. Mandocello's are rare but mandolas have the same strings and are a lot cheaper.
Oh thank you! I've been looking all over for stuff like this.
PS Can you add search tags please to include the kind of music this is useful for playing too. It might be easier to find.

So what about bowing 3 strings?
Maestro14231 1 year ago
@Maestro14231 Triple and quad stops you need two bows, or you have to change slope extremely quick.

O.k. super cute cello chat guy. But you really do look a bit like a Jazz musican on this particular day. How about doing some Jazz tunes.
