  • GREENVILLE, S.C., Aug. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Michelin North America is investing $350 million to improve and expand every major manufacturing facility in South Carolina over the next four years. This latest round of Michelin investments will upgrade all the company's manufacturing facilities in Anderson, Greenville, Lexington and Spartanburg counties, and will add approximately 100 new manufacturing jobs to the company's 7,850 current employees in South Carolina.

    'nuff said..

  • Gawd you say Michelin like others in the south I know. Its MiSHelin! UGH! Its French. We have a factory not far from me, employs a lot of people. Best tires on the road too!!!! Have them on my Crown Victoria.

Anyway nice bug. Did it have wood paneling or something on the side?

  • are they 30s?

  • rat is the is the best,,,,like this..............vw oval 56 RAT y vw oval 54 yuki JUAREZ GARAGE

  • You'll have that thing driving down the road in no time!

  • does the engine turn over? that's half the battle there

  • @tommee10533 Nope, not a chance, bit it's not hard to get a bug motor unstuck. You just split the case, pop the cylinders right off. Not much too it.

  • do you think its the wheel bearing or the axles?

  • @TheGarnerjustin73 Not sure yet.. I'll let ya know..

  • @TheGarnerjustin73

it's probably the wheel cylinder. Easy fix is to get a flathead screwdriver and turn the wheel cylinder cog through the inspection hole on the hub. This will retract the shoes and most likely free up the wheel.

  • wonder if it will still float?

  • @howdy0473 hahahaha.. It sank into the ground.. I 'spect it'd sink like a rock.

  • @rpeek at least you dont have to worry about it washing away

  • Nice!

  • Back when I was in high school, my brother and I would drag old VWs down to Dad's construction company and build dune buggies. This is bringing back some nice memories.

  • @edda520 Yea, there used to be a big dune buggy shop in Lithia Springs. They turned out about half a million of those fiberglass buggies when I was in my 20's.

  • @rpeek My brother and I built one with the fiberglass body. Got it done just in time for me to go to college. He got to drive it, I just did most of the work. From what I understand, you had to be a cheerleader or better to get a ride when he was tooling around in it. The other big project was a mud buggy we made out of a shortened floorpan and square tubing. Those were the days. I should dig out the pictures and post them.

  • @edda520 Yep, them was the days. I got a few photos like that myself kickin' around here somewhere.. hahaha..

  • nice
