Well if this is all true about the contract then how do you explian when the union was Local 250 and then we joined SEIU UHW and the same contract was affective. Because as long as there is an open contract the employer has to honor that contract! So you don't even make sense SEIU your full of it and you are going out of Kaiser and we the members welcome NUHW.

This is so sad. You guys can blather on all day about organizing and building power for California healthcare workers, but the truth is you sold your members out to the bosses in despicable sweetheart deals to gain more "dues units" and that is why members are decerting you in droves!

Yes, it's sad that members actually believe what is being told to them by people they trust, that if they decertify they will inherit the same contract, it's irresponsibe to lie like this. Perez does not lie about everything, he or she just puts out half truths augmented and delivered in gossip format. But what is really sad is the number of members that are suffering or will suffer for all this, all because of some that have ideological conflicts and who forget what this movement is really for

I've been a union organizer since 1983 and I haven't ever worked for UHW or NUHW. This is not a minor ideological disagreement Chamba. This is a historic struggle over whether or not it is acceptable to negotiate secret sweetheart deals with bosses in return for organizing rights. SEIU believes that is acceptable. NUHW believes it is not. How do I know this? I worked for SEIU 775, not even the staff were told about the secret deals there. Why? Because they are unethical and wrong!

I want to show this to people in my local! This has got to be about the most serious group of folks talking about how to make a union work, I want to bring them to my meeting. We faced a decert like the guy at the begginning talked about, it was ugly, they tried feeding us the same phony baloney that the one lady laughed about here, that we could just sign over the contract! Makes me angry just thinking back. Like all the different voices here, different faces, honest, humor.
