Nice race bra! I expected it to be even. I have a 1.8t b5 Audi and I race a new gti on highway pull at 60 to 90 and surprisingly beat him. Soon I'm getting stage 1 apr chip with a new K04 turbo along with stage 2 apr exhaust.

Result was very much expected as R32 with chip has 260hp and APR stage 1 with 2.0 produces 252 hp but is also bit lighter than R32. It was very nice to see this video as this is what I really was considering. I have MKV GTI with APR so same power than that Audi there.. and wondering if tuned R32 would stick with it and now I see that it would!!

Im going for MKIV R32 as its more cheap than my current GTI + it has AWD and great sound and I live in Finland so AWD makes all the difference ;)

Ye r32 is quick. This a4 2.0 t will have like 265 brake with a chip n pipe cause it's turbo so a chip will do more. Chip an r32 u get like 10-12 brake.. The r32 wud kill a standard 2.0 t a4 with the stock 217 brake

@mountainsnbirds they are you just gotta throw some bolt ons and would pronbably beat that a4. The r32 if im thinking right has a vr6 right? but with aftermarket parts like a chip, exhaust, and intake and maybe some fuel air pressure adjustments you will get the 2.0T no prob!

Im in the R32. My buddy is in the a4. Damn this was over 2 1/2 years ago.

There is no altitude in miami. So altitude is not a factor. Actually the 2.0T are very impressive just as the 1.8T were. It was a drivers race between the 2 cars. The R would pull away slightly at top end. I think the A4 2.0T with exhaust would have beat my R(chip and intake).

This R ran 13.68 @ 99 with chip and intake at the track.

2007 with a apr chip on 93 octane and a test pipe should be pushing around 218 TO THE WHEELS, that was my setup before i went big with a T3/T4 turbo kit awe exhaust carbonio CAI

my guess is the reason the r32 wasnt doing so hot is bc of the altitude.

but if u tihnk about it, at sea level the r32 is MUCH lighter and roughly the same hp

i live in denver too, altitude actually kills horsepower, i have a wrx and vr6t mk3, they run like crap on a hot day at 6000ft, but when its cold its a different story, the cold rocky mountain air is what makes boosted cars run strong up here.

I have a mk4 R32

the A4 had an advantage here because turbo cars respond way more to mods like software (the apr 93) and aftermarket exhausts or test pipes.

R32s are NA and barely respond to mods (in comparison to turbo cars) other than forced induction, trust me I own one lol (use to own an 06 wrx too)

i think a chipped 2.0t puts out close to 260 right? the r32 chipped puts out 250 or so.. both heavy cars with i think the r32 weighing more?  i don't know for sure. but like someone posted, the 2.0t ran out of breath.

The race was quite interesting. It would have been really nice to had some on-board monitoring software residing on a laptop in each car to now compare some graphs from the race. During the last second it looks as if the A4 was inching back up on the R32. This is one of the most even matched (video) races I've seen.

Usually the dealer cant tell if its chipped.. but if they do know.. they need to prove taht the chip is the reason for the problem before saying it voids the warranty.. and if anything they only void related parts... atleast thats how it works for my A4
