I guess there might be a tiny bit of frustration because he's not getting his corn as easily as he would like but having to work for food is good for a rat's mental well-being. Rodents DO go a bit insane if they get bored. Have you ever seen a hamster running side to side with paws up on the side of an aquarium? That is a bored and distressed creature. This rat is not distressed!

@KrazedkANDYrECORDS I was teaching my rat a couple tricks and she got really excited and fell off her plat from (which was only a couple inches high) and she still broke her little rat toe from that small hight. it is fun to play and teach them tricks you just have to remember their bones are still like tooth picks and snap easily.

For all those who think it's a mouse, it's definitely a rat. Different proportions, and mice generally aren't that large even when full-grown. You know, considering he said it was a temporary cage, it's quite possible his rat wasn't full-grown.

2. I know anything about that rat, and you probably don't either. What kind of bedding is it on? What food does it eat? Is it seed mix, or lab blocks? How big is it's cage? Is it wide/deep/high enough? These are things I do not know about the rat in question - but if I did , I could most likely tell you how that rat is being mistreated.

She eats healthy foods, and once in a great while, a piece of fortune cookie. The cage is the size of a 19" analog TV. One more thing, why do you request to know all of this info?

@Pokemon978IsBackOn Lab blocks should be the main diet for rats. Lab block are where they get all the nutrients they need. Rats should also need a good amount of fresh fruit and vegetables daily. Carefresh bedding is fine, but a 19" cage is not big enough. Also, rats are extremely social animals. You would have to spend A LOT of time with a rat to make up for a rat not having a friend. Many, many hours... and let's be realistic - no one has that kind of time. Rats should never be alone.

Sawdust gives rats respiratory problems, and tanks don't provide adequate ventilation therefore they end up breathing in the ammonia from their wee, which again is bad for their respiratory tract. Just thought you should know.
