You know money spent does not mean equal value? To give you an example, the US issues M-9 bayonet that costs 122.95$. The Russians use a RM-3 bayonet that costs 19.95$. You see the difference? Almost a tenfold difference in price for what are essentially identical pieces of equipment. So if you remove overpriced American manufacturing at comparable quality to the world standard then its only a 100m$ upgrade. Not to mention most of those upgrades are to remove manufacturing flaws.

@notgodsemigod it can be hard to to confirm if an enemy unit is demolished without having to put yourself into further danger. smoke can be covering the sight, damage could be hard to see with cameras. also, retarded bombs, rockets and MG is not 100% to hit the target direct, the target can still be operational, but it may look like a kill.

There is good reason to cover the aircraft being shot down... no matter what country, they will all try to put it away, that is to cover war-intel.

The maneuver is not really useful in most casess since it only stops the plane, but does not alter its course significantly like a fast turn. It does not move the plane out of the way of an attacking missile. But it sure can be useful in a guns-only dogfight, when both sides have already expended their missiles or are too close.
