@MUFC196819992008 Miss Tatcher was an old smart fox. Supported European Union, but didnt push Britain to adopt Euro currency . 20 years after Maastrich we see German and Nazi Vichy France jumping out with money after putting fire on circus, toalso get profits in helping the injuried audience (God !...). Very wise ,Margareth Tatcher. My respect. Thats is why Britain is Great.
Rosalita, I accept your correction but nevertheless Palin is just plain dumb; I've heard her speak in broadcasts and she is clearly an ignorant woman who could never aspire to the position of leader of the most powerful country in the world. The idea of Sarah Palin as President is a sick joke (and would be frightening rather than funny if by some nightmare scenario a majority of Americans were insane enough to vote for her.

She was one of the worlds greatest leaders Sarah Palin is an American version of Margaret Thatcher and with the right cabinet she will be just as great for our nation!
Sorry, ifusuck, but Thatcher cannot be compared to Palin; to begin with, Thatcher was bright, she went to Oxford an elite university whereas I don't think that Palin even finished High school. Palin is just too ignorant: of economics, history, geopolitics etc to be compared for a moment with Thatcher.

This woman makes me sick! She listens to no-one,very close to dictatorship.
She,in my mind, was and is racist, she divided the UK like never before, created GREED!!!! Which is now in everyone. How anyone can applaud this woman is beyond me. Britain was in bad shape before she took power true but any descent PM/Party would have been better. She didn;t save Britain she just changed it and if you think this capitalist life we lead now is good you should ask Africans,Asians and South Americans
pjb40 - she did not create greed -- greed has always existed. Its been in our lexicon and in all lexicons since the beginning of recorded history. She did save the UK as the country was falling apart and its economy and quality of life were so poor that many were projecting that in 25 yrs it would join Albania as Europe's poorest state. Today it is the 4th largest economy on earth. As for capitalist life - Asians (hong kong, China, Singapore, S.Korea) seem fine....
for South Americans -- Chile does quite well, Argentina is not horrible either. Columbia has a true Conservative government and its economy and quality of life has increased, while Marxist Venezuela delves into corruption and decay. Much of Africa, along with other places, unfortuneately do not have capitalism - capitalism is free markets, property rights, rule of law, stability in government and society. Where those things exist, things tend to go well.
The period between 79-81 was described as an 'industrial holocaust.' Around 25% of the UK's manufacturing base was destroyed, for no other reason than Mrs. thatcher's government was experimenting with monetarist ideology which made it impossible for companies to survive. It created massive unemployment and human misery which was totally unnecessary. It created a massive social divide between the rich and the poor. The bit that 'didn't work out' was that her 'revolution' proved to be a failure.
What a woman I think that she was wonderful while in office and I wish here in the US we had a female leader equal to Mrs. Thatcher I thought Hillary was going to be the next but I guess it wasn't meant to be!
I've listened to both Ms. Thatcher and Ms. Clinton. Clinton is no Thatcher. Ideologically, they are the opposite. Hillary embodies socialist ideas while Thatcher had the same contempt for socialist policies as people in Easter Europe, who have experienced them, had for theirs.
I respect you view it's always nice to hear others and what they think because I'm the first to tell people i dont know it all but thank you very much for your opinion!
Having lived through the Thatcher years here in the UK, I can assure you that it was a very, very unpleasant time, and not 'wonderful' as you imagine. Try living in a place where it's absolutely impossible to get a job because of the blind ideology of your leader. The whole country was literally falling to bits because she wouldn't invest in public infrastructure. My abiding memory of that time is of derelict buildings and roads falling to bits. It was much, much worse then than it is now.

Marget Thatcher didn't do what she did because she wanted to, she did it because she had no other choice.
The government was about to go bankruped, there was massive inflation and something had to be done.

Surely you must know by now that to everyone who hates her, Thatcher created everything bad in the world herself.

No reason? Other than the enormous cost to the exchequer? £3bn for the coal industry alone?
