  • Poor Teddy...

  • Is this a classical song? I remember hearing something classical that sounded just like this melody

  • PEACE IN THE WORLD!!!

  • This sad song reminds of the current humanitarian crisis in East Africa. Those in Somalia sure would find the tune "quite normal".

  • my favorite song on the whole game.

  • This song always sends shivers down my back...

  • @kujosbloodstrewnmoon

Same here. Was going to write the same thing :)

  • this game was one of my favorites it was very very nice!

  • Tanzra disliked this music

  • I like games like this, i would love to see them make a comeback, perhaps as an mmo like maplestory, but with this kind of graphics, not the chibi art. A huge crossbetween Actraiser, Black Tiger, Golden Axe, Legend, Castlevania, and maybe a bit of Legend of Zelda 2. I think that would so own!

  • @LMMEjsmith try looking up dungeon fighter online, i think it kinda fits all that.

  • @nakedchucho i took a second look at that per your suggestion, and i still remain turned off by the artwork. Anime fantasy magic, street fighting punks, steampunk machine gunners, and catholic priests on steroids just don't do it for me. Even the game's one sword swinger looks unimpressive of stature. I'm looking for the Conan the barbarian, Guin Saga, Beastmaster, herculean demi-gods in chainmail bikinis that wrestle with titans, not a highschool sports team in nightmare candyland.

  • @LMMEjsmith right on, to each their own ^_^

  • @LMMEjsmith I know, there's not an online game like that anymore, not that there ever was one.

    I wish...I wish...

  • I never played this game before but this music gives me goosebumps! It's so good! I need to find it now!

  • I was about 2 or 3 when I first heard it, and I still find it sad

  • This makes the Boss cry manly tears

  • This makes me want to be a kid again.

  • Actraiser was the first game I beat completely by myself... this piece was always my favorite. It kind of puts the whole game into perspective, even though you play a god the people you create are dying for you. I dug this out last week and the one man in Aitos that gets injured almost made me cry.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PIECE!! I STILL HAVE THIS GAME AND LOVE PLAYING IT EVEN AFTER 16 YEARS. ITS NICE TO SEE THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO APPRECIATE THIS MUSIC TOO

  • I feel like it's someone kind of slowly dying somewhere alone, but kind of glad they're going.

I dunno, I hate sappy things, but that's what it sounds like.

  • What I like about this song is, that he represents not only the grief about the man it was written for, but for the SNES-Era itself. Its sad, that this era is over, but at least we have those wonderful tunes to remind us...

  • Strangely enough, I can hear this being sung by a sorrowful, drunk crowd of men in some pub somewhere.

  • never was able to beat the final boss... to darn hard. love this game

  • @Bobban Get an emulator and go at it again. Trust me, it's worth it.

  • @jasonthecanadian no need, I have a snes and I have the game. gonna play it again someday. The only problem is that when I save the game, as soon as I turn off the console, the save disappears. Thats really gay. So I have to clear the game in one go. But i`m gonna do it someday.

  • @Bobban That's what weekends and/or days off from school/work are for :D

  • @jasonthecanadian It won't take you longer than 5 minutes. Actually I did it for my little brother in law last week so he learns some English. He liked it

  • What's weird is how inspired this game is by the Bible. People get a bad vibe from it, but it really is beautiful - powerful theological meanings.

When you see the husband and wife bend on one knee to pray, there's a gentleness to everything, a romanticism, what is sacred and good.

You literally have God fighting for his people, willing to bleed for them.

    It's not bad.

  • @highwind8124 Good stuff

  • @highwind8124 It's a video game.

  • @highwind8124 Yeah, that's why i liked it. God himself returned and fought for the people instead of smoking weed erry day up in the clouds.

He appeared to people and showed that he is always there, and as long as they trust in Him he will guard them from evil.

That's what i respected about this game. Christianity, not a chance.

  • @highwind8124 That was exactly what I was thinking, the people he creates fight the monster lairs and he in turn fights for them. It would be great if there was a deity willing to fight for us.

  • I fuckin love this song!!!!

  • The death of the man in the desert of Kasandora will always get to me.

When used in the game this soothing music stopped all anger... all the hate and calmed the people of bloodpool...

Imagine what it would do if this was played around the world at the same time...

Our world... would be a better place for once.

  • Ah, the good old days. Nothing was better than being a teen Playing these games in an air-conditioned home in those hot summer days. So simple and comfy life was back then. This is Yuzo's best soundtrack

  • CREATE ORDER FROM CHAOS!

  • this tune sends shivers up my spine.. thnx enix :)

  • this song appeared so unexpectedly on the game, and after reading the game text you finally get to put two and two together and say Ohhh, THATS how you get past those stupid Bloodpool quarrels

  • this game was awsome. i don't play it anymore but it was fun while it lasted

  • This tune makes me feel sad, yet its so good.

  • I always get shivers when I hear this song. I almost forgot about this song when I saw Paw(from Thatguywiththeglasses)'s Top 9 Musical Moments (Old school). This is beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.

  • Call me Crazy but I liked the Actraisers 2 better.

    not that anyone cares.

  • Actraiser 2's music was great, had that sort of classic feel to it. I actually like it just as much as the original's, but in a different way.

  • i used to love this one back then...

  • Yuzo Koshiro's most beautiful and memorable masterpieces. =) Very well treasured for life.

  • Best song from the game, although I preferred ActRaiser 2 over the first one. Yūzō Koshiro is a great composer, he's right up there with Koji Kondo and Nobuo Uematsu.

    It's too bad that Quintet doesn't exist anymore. ;_;

  • actraiser 2 was fucking terrible

  • I thought I was doing something wrong when I heard this sad music

    lol

  • what i find amazing about this song, is not only because it is well written and sounds great for the snes music. but just the fact that in this games story, it was written for the man who died in the desert. so in a weird way it makes this songs sad tone even sadder. its like how the game sescribed it, "cant you tell what the man was feeling when he wrote this music?" its just little things like this that make actraiser amazing

  • @shadowmoses2385 man you said every last thing I wanted to say... this is my favorite game ever ever and ever! It is just these tiny, but huge things like this man in the desert, things that make you feel like you really are there and there are people who need you... maybe it's becaose of the combination of "city management" and action...

And btw, I just saw in my winamp that my play count for this song is 2242! :D

  • DAMN I LOVED THIS GAME.... and I felt so sad when I heard this.... now this game brought back so many memories. 5/5 stars

  • THIS is the power of Yuzo Koshiro.

  • OH wow, i havent play this game and im about to cry with this...

  • This made me sad sometimes heh. Great song though. 5/5

  • FINALLY, the one i was looking for ^^

  • One of my favorite pieces from a brilliant soundtrack.

  • Peaceful
