I completely forgot this song !!!! At that time, my favorite club in Montreal was the CARGO on ST-Denis, corner of Rachel. THe Foufounes Electric was a small club. I saw Bahaus live over there ! ANd the Virging Pruns at the Pleine Lune on Des Pins
Massive punk dance from 1979!!! (complete album released in 1981)
Totally incredible to think Liaisons Dangereuses had this sound in 1979. YEARS ahead of their time. Incredibly hard hitting!! To this day no other group has ever done punk and dance as hard.
@Techne It is a very nice -and their only- album. The album comes from 1981, so that would be 30 years ago. Imagine how alien it must have sounded back then.
@petersedin One of the band members (Chrislo Haas) was a member of DAF so that (at least in part) explains the similarities. Also both bands probably used the KORG DS-20 (with sequencer?) a lot for the characteristic monophonic bassline.
@tomkowo World wide hit. It was huge in LatAm, for what I can say. I remember being a teen and being presented by my dad with the cassette EP. Little after I discovered synth-pop usual suspects but never listened to something close to this weirdness/rawness/emotion.. electro but jazz but synth but dada but dance but punk but.. incredible.
@Techne Alright, didn`t know that it was that huge. I loved LD from the very first second, also because Chrislo Haas formerly was a member of DAF, who ruled the German Underground at that time. Besides, you must`ve been a lucky kid, I wish my Dad would have come up with a cassette like that :-)
Music this original comes around so rarely. If you can't recognize it, who needs you! It doesn't fit genres, it forces others to start genres to try to recreate the magic.
Nineteen Hundred and eighty one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This would be original if it was released TODAY!
@loreX242 EXCELENTE MUSICA ELECTRONICA, CON UN RANGO DE LO ELECTRO ANTIGUO, PASANDO POR EL NEW BEAT-FRANKFURT BEAT, BELIGIAN TECHNO, HASTA LLEGAR AL RAVE-TECHNO ;-) :-) DE FINALES DE LOS 70s HASTA MEDIADOS DE LOS 90s!!, GRACIAS POR COMPARTIR ESTE MARAVILLOSO PROYECTO!!!

@gotanigo I totally agree. Much, much, much better than those silly and poorly sounded DAF. And way ahead/before DAF, as well

So incredible it still sounds impossible weird and modern after.. 20 years? The whole album must be german electronica's best kept secret.

@Techne "Los Ninos Del Parque" was a huge Club-hit in Germany, but the rest of the album was more for the Underground scene
