yngwee is not the original!! Are you crazy! most of yngwee is just van Halen and Randy Rhoads and then he chucks in a bit of Paganini and a bit of Bach! jez dont give the man credit itll just blow up hi ego...
Man it's been a while since I heard some Yngwie, this is great stuff I love this song! Yngwie might repeat himself a lot but he's the original, we wouldn't have the shredders we have today if it wasn't for him. His sound is so original, that is until everyone copied him. You gotta admit he's amazing his first album Rising Force is one the best shred albums I've ever heard, it's up there with Dragon's Kiss and Perpetual Burn, among others.
joe stump is an yngwie clone... same guitar shape, same pants, same style of playing.... if Yngwie deserves to be up there is cause he's the original, not just a clone... many can be better technically (not easy kids) but how many have what it takes to invent a new style?
He has a horrible technique, ever wondered why when you get tabs of his it switches from septuplets to semi-quavers and stuff like that? Its cos he just plays as fast as he can with no control.
Admittedly he used to be good but now hes a big headed idiot who can hardly play guitar.
If you want a guitar virtuoso go listen to Paco De Lucia
of course you do know that he was the first one to come with this type of music called neo-classical metal, right?
and, the reason why he changes speed is because he never plays the same solo twice, meaning that he improvises every single time, even when he is recording it for an album.
you should also compare yngwie with guitarists of his same genre, and not guitarists you like.
and finally, i would pay you a dollar if you hung yourself with your own underwear.
neoclassicism is an artistic movement in the 1800's, so it was not blackmore who "invented" it. you are right by saying that he was the first one doing it, but he only had classical licks integrated to his playing, but didn't develop a new genre like malmsteen did.
"His 1984 album, "Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Rising Force," established seemingly overnight the style now referred to a neo-classical melodic rock."
"Rising Force blazed a trail on the concert circuit that established Yngwie as one of rock guitar's brightest new stars and added a new genre to the music lexicon: neoclassical rock."
It was actually Baroque music but yeah you got the right idea.
I meant a guy who incorporated it into rock and that.
I used to love Malmsteen but i dunno...now he just seems boring, theres only so much fast picking and sweeping you can hear before it seems boring. Though it sure is fun to play on guitar haha.
Stop the high kicks? Are you fucking insane! Didn't you know that's where Yngwie gets his super powers from? Well...I hope he "ballerina high-kicks" you in the face!
Yngwie's ego is as big as his head. He's real jerk in person, but all personal differences aside, he is an excellent guitarist. I think he really shines playing classical style songs.

Isnt paco de lucia a flamenco player? Malmsteen has astoundingly good technique, however he has is far too self-indulgent.

Fair enough man.
And Ritchie Blackmore really invented neo-classical btw, i know my shit about this kind of music.
The thing with Malmsteen is that he was good in the beginning i just don't like him now because of his attitude.
oh and gimme the dollar and i'll do it!

Oh and i really think tony macalpine is where its at if you want neo-classical. I think hes got much better technique than Yngwie.

if he prepared every solo in advanced it would take him for ever but almost all of his live performance solos sound exactly the same

maybe he ment the song? I don't know much about Yngwie really... nice guitar work and "metal" is definetly more for him than blues
