  • Only one guy could possibly hold his own with the genius of Danny Gatton in this genre and that is Scotty Anderson. Check out his' triple stop' album and you will see what I mean.

  • Ohh yeahhh!

Wailing that sustain.. 5 stars plus

    John

  • 2:17-2:24!

  • I love watching his hands, especially his right one... this man defies pigeon-holing.

The Gleason Theme. Done for rednecks. Brilliant.

  • Thanks for posting this. First time I've seen this video.

    I remember the Funhouse days.

  • Danny Gatton was not of this world when he played. I still know of no one that has this level of genius for the genre other than maybe Greg Koch and he's just a little too goofy to pull it off.

Perhaps, Junior Watson. I've not seen Junior on a Tele before, tho'.

Rick Holstrum...possible, but on second thought .......nah. Every time I watch one of DG's performances, I think it's time for a fire sale on my gear. :) Spank that plank.

  • @jukeking1 Well Danny would say Lenny Breau probably, but they were like Picasso and Rembrandt....unsurpassed genius, who just played differently...Danny could do stuff that Lenny didn't and vice versa....

"Danny can play like everybody, but nobody can play like Danny"...Fair comment...one of his drummers said that he could hear God coming out of Danny's amplifier sometimes...I know what he is talking about.

  • The best.......

  • The guy was a monster... so versatile.
