I hate sjc, but nice drums. Id rather do it myself than let them half ass it. With all fairness, ive only had one bad experience with a bevel on a snare, i didnt contact them tho, i just fixed it... But for the prices they change it should not have happen.

@cavudog SJC drums are actually cheaper than most custom drums. This would probably have a list price of around $4,000 but SJC offers direct discounts so I'm not entirely sure. But it's always important to remember that it's worth it for these drums.

Hey thanks for checking out ONE LIGHT OUT and downloading some tunes- very cool man! I was originally using the EC2 coated on toms, but recently switched to G2's. G1 on all bottoms. Kick uses the EMAD2 w/ 2 internal dampers. The EC2's work well w/ my DW kit, but to muffled for the hybrid. I don't consider myself "endorsed" by SJC, even though there are people out there that buy a kit and say that they got endorsed by them.

Well franciscowech, saying that DW is better than SJC is all a matter opinion. My opinion is that DW is better than sjc. (but that's all opinion). Also "ply" means the layers of wood used to make the shell of the drum i believe. (Please anyone correct me if i'm wrong). So that is my opinion. Hope i helped.

Yes spazattackdrummer- it's a opinion, kind of like assholes- everyones got one. I also play a DW kit that iv'e probably had for 10yrs, I use that kit for studio and smaller shows.. SJC and all other custom makers are a completely different drum sound.

I would def recommend die cast on the toms. It will keep your heads in tune alot longer but the only thing that you may not like is the "feel".  To me, it creates a different type of stick feel- much better rim shots!
