  • LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song! Thanks for posting...

  • OMG!! I grew up listening to this play around the house i love this!

  • The Bros. are alive & well as long as there are those that can hear. Their music & now our music since they gave it to us is great.

  • Many Thanks For The Post ♥♥♫♫♪♪...

  • I didn't know Rance Allen did R&B back in the day. All I knew was "Something About the Name Jesus" w/Kirk Franklin. He is a funky brother. I like his voice. Now, as for the Mizell Brothers, I put them up there w/Gamble & Huff, Holland-Dozier-Holland, etc. They are very, very unsung. RIP Fonce Mizell.

  • @chefbaby8879 Ikr... I Discovered Him On Kirk Franklin's Something About The Name of Jesus

  • Classic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I am the second youngest of the(immediate) Mizell's(that I know of) and I just wanted to say...THIS IS SO COOL! My Great-Grandpa has told me many stories of the Mizell Brothers! I really don't know if there's a music future for me, but listening to this made me want to have a music future even more! GOSHHH THIS IS SO COOOL!

  • @HeyyItsSeychelles you go for it if the Lord is leading you to do that. We need more music like this

  • Absolute mastery of every instrument,& incredible use of vocal harmony. The Mizells are the musicians musicians. The reason why they are so singular in the funk & soul world is that prodigious talent like theirs is such a rare thing.Another great facet to their work is that their taste in collaborators is so impeccable. The secular world is so lucky that Rance Allen chose to record tunes other than Gospel occasionally,a rare gem!

  • And Larry Mizell Jr. is apparently very active in the Seattle music/hip hop scene.

  • SoulMatic @Keymaker7

  • I LUV this song. It's so meaningful and it gives me a lift everytime I hear it! Thanks Rance.

  • velvet......

  • yeaaaaaaaaaa

  • skating music?

  • @asheyblack wat u mean skating music dis is classic, u acting like u slow

  • @7172587 easy their brother i know it's a classic

  • gosh i've been lookin for this song since high school. OMG. i used to love this song.

  • @alkh3myst P(e)ace! I'm not consciously very familiar with them... Do you know if the Mizell Brothers are of any relation to vocalist/songwriter Cindy (unsure as to whether or not she uses another "e" at the end of her surname)? She does that bad-meaning-ridiculously good cover of Stevie's "All I Do"?

  • @iampsalmbody, yes, Cindy Mizelle is related. Jam Master Jay (Jason William Mizell) was also from the same family. And record executive Don Mizell. Not sure about the exact relations.

  • My Lord have mercy... Rance Allen brings the soul power whether funkin' or trad. gospel. This song is such a gift (that I can also ol' school two-step to like somebody's auntie LOL). Bless the Almighty Most High for good reason!

  • Jesus - I love this song! Thanks for posting Veewee!!!

  • Can you post the Bside? "I'm Gonna Make It After All", one of my favorite Rance Allen songs.

  • Please bring back the mizzell brothers!!! Give all modern producers some old school lessons. Those cats were some bad boys back in the day & very busy. Yet their artist held their own sound but any lover of their music could tell that they put their hands into certain material. 2days producers/artist need help trust me i'm not alone with my feelings. Peace to the old school 1 love

  • The old school producers were musicians. Most current producers are DJs and engineers. All they can do is manipulate sound; they can't create new music. Producers like the Mizzell Brothers could either write string arrangements like the one you hear here or hire an arranger. If you say arrangement to a DJ, he'll tell you: "Yeah, you'll get paid." Most of them have no clue. This is the only real reason music sounds so bad. You can't get to #1 if your music sounds like #2...

  • @alkh3myst Yes so true..well said my friend!

  • Yep yep! All commercial trash nowadays made for the kiddes(and adults who act like kiddies) in the clubs.

  • @alkh3myst YES YOUR RIGHT EXACTLY RIGHT THE OLD SCHOOL PRODUCERS WERE FORMER MUSICIANS THEMSELVES SO THEY KNOW HOW TO CREATE.TODAY'S PRODUCERS ARE DJ'S AND ENGINEERS

  • @alkh3myst A lot of us are learning how to play instruments . We might have picked up the instruments after the the turntables and samplers, but we are learning nonetheless. IN the future will you will see a lot of hi[ hop / r&b producers who sample AND play.

  • @alkh3myst no, the reason music is shit today is because music caters for kids, iv seen plenty of DJ's/MUSICIANS that can arrange all types of sound with real instruments, we just use tech to put it togather now, times have changed and its a shame, but we just got to swim with the current...its mainly to do with the record company's, not the shit artist lol

  • @alkh3myst not entirely true; Im a DJ and modern producer who plays many real instruments. Its the record buisness, an industry that has been so tanked by the internet they only put out stuff that panders to kids and little girls. there are plenty of soulful, musical producers these days. check out Mike kalombo for instance

  • @AcebeatGroup I'm really glad to hear that, and notice that I said "most" not "all".
