A lot of judgement being passed here for a little over a minute of video. Windward vs. Leeward? 2 in 2 out? Are you kidding me? Come out of the classroom. It's a trailer fire with no exposure hazard not a wildfire and no apparent occupants so no need to enter. And most of you can't spell. A bad line stretch and a guy with no gear. Maybe the Chief handled that problem back at the house.Grow up and clean up your own yards.
Some people are soo fast to say negative things about firefighters...these guys and by guys im adding my self in..risk there lives to save others.....wwhen someone needs help at 3 in the morning when most people are sleeping who goes..firefighters and ems personel....so stop bashing firefighters and let them do there job because yea there may be a better way but they gt the job done..so either dont post at all or dont bash those who may have to sae your life or friends life one day
@bsbllthirteen A firefighter needs to be able to mitigate the situation, not make it worse. Certain things like wearing firegear on the scene are just basic to the job. While most of us don't like seeing amatuerish firefighting efforts, I'm sure we all would hate to see a firefighter hurt or killed even more.
Hey Chief nice white helmet !! Might I suggest basic fire school review. 1) ICS 2) Windward v/s Leeward. 3) Two in Two out......... On second thought I will just show this in class as what NOT to do.
This department should spend every week for the next year training on the basics of fire fighting. How to suit up, how to stretch hose line, how to work with the wind, geez, this department needs alot of work. Good luck
Simple. Don't even think about a second line until the first one is in service. Yeah they had water. Big deal. What good is that with a big pile of spaghetti that it has to travel through...
Trailers are death traps. If there is no one inside and there is exposure like this, then there is no reason to do any interior attack. The contents are already destroyed. From that porch down, where the flames are, is already gone. There are no walls there.
My only criticsm is that big knot of hose and lack of SCBA. The guy jumping when the line is charged is normal. It pushes you back.
If people didn't volunteer for dangerous stuff, you people would be screwed.
Wow. someone definitely couldve ventilated that window and possibily attacked the fire. this is an embarrassment! line not properly pulled or anything! shocked...
wow, lack of training showed here , or the fact you all run not that many fires, charged a hoseline into a spaggetti pile and then had to work it out, you have a man grab the houseline that has NO protective gear on, the guy running to the back of the structure at the end of the vid is the only one looking like he has a clue of what he is doing, and the guy in the blue helmet looks like he is lost...training will help out on hose deployment and confidence
I am a VOL. Fire fighter , how do you not know that person's most cared for things were not in the part of the house that was not burned? Protect life and then property.
i think so too. but you have to always try your hardess to save it no matter how small of a home. I remember when i helped save half of a double wide trailer. It just so happen to be that in that half that was saved ,that persons deed to the land, saved up money ( i think it was like $1500) , and other very important personal info was in there. That person thanked all of us and it made me feel very good inside that i didn't give up.
could have been a smaller department where 2nd alarm they put out an all call and call in off duty firefighters, 3rd alarm they request mutual aid. our fire department does it that way and if theres a 2nd alarm the 3rd alarm gets called out right away with the 2nd
Ok so your not familiar with a alarm assignment no prob. The Department making the attack needs to learn a few things. #1 spaghetti is for italian eateries, not hose lines. #2 attack from the unburned side. #3 dont fight the wind, streatch your line to the unburned side and use the wind as a PPV fan. A few pointers no offence intended.
Sorry all you fire dept members. I am not one of you so excuse the improper use of the term " 3 alarm" There was 3 different depts that responded so I assumed that meant 3 alarm. My bad.
DAMN IT WAS 3/4 DONE BEFORE THEY GOT ANY WATER ON IT. WHY BOTHER THEN
