To me, the song makes me feel the following in order: melancholy/sadness ===> surrender ===> resigned/hopeful.

I always get goosebumps when the notes begin to calmly and beautifully settle in the middle of the song in a very serene way (followed by the strings a few counts later). Gives me an overwhelming sense of surrender.
