  • 4:55 Did she just say "craming"?

  • The amount of calories and fat in these things are unbelieveble!!!! I'm not from the USA, actually I'm from the other half of the world and I am probably at risk of being overweight and I don't even eat foods as fattening as that! Well.... at least I think I am. Great video!!!! Very helpful!!!! :-) Thank you Natalie!!!!

  • I can't comprehend why restaurants would even think it's a good idea to prepare food this way. I guess for the proft: it tastes good and some of those fatty ingredients are cheap because they are more shelf-stable than fresh fruit and vegetables.

I wish you would have done this in an "eat this not that" style where you suggested healthier options.

  • another reason it is great to be a man....we can eat more calories and not gain weight

  • Your video's are really great. It is easy when you are so busy to go for convience but you can pay a big price! Keep up the good work!

  • thank god i dont live in the usa

  • "Men, you need 2400 calories a day, now that is an average so it's vary based on your heigh, weight and age"

So nothing to do with activity level then? And people wonder why we are getting fat.

  • Can you imagine being MARRIED to Natalie? You - "Hey Natalie where do you want to eat out tonight?" Natalie - " Honey, were going to eat delicious clods of dirt, freshly mowed grass and our own fuckin turds tand ass-shit"

  • Wow, American 'restaurant' foods are horrible! Do you call these restaurants? These sound like fast food to me, just like pizza etc

  • the reason fast food is bad is because they are trying to depopulate the earth by it. personally i think they are trying to depopulate others races than their own those who are responsible for fast food being bad.

  • i only eat out... hmm... maybe four times a month. and i'm trying to cut it down to once or twice.

  • i saw the cheese cake factory an almost cried

  • @kopsy90210 Lots of shitty foods (especially the 2820-calorie pasta), according to Eat This Not That. You would only survive if you order their Factory Burger and nothing else.

  • So if I fallow shit like this, I live forever right?

  • i go total calories for the week....create deficate by sun....and stay active training....

  • How can there be so many cals in those foods? WHAT do they put on there?!

I really hope that the average meal in a restaurant here in Germany has less calories...

  • "On the border"

    hahahaha.

  • so hot girl

  • Natalie, please do a video on Chinese food buffet items. Example: Which soup is best, hot and sour or egg drop soup? The purpose of the video would be to help a person to make educated food choices. I date mainly fat women that used to look good. We need your help.

  • She has so many videos. It may be best to message the pyschetruth channel specifically addressing Natalie, or go to her official website.

That's a really good question. We're always hearing about how bad Chinese food is, but it's really more about making bad choices.

  • @spitoncat lmao?!?! you date fat women that USED to look good?? Dam youre a weird son of a bitch. lol :p

  • Hi Natalie. I have some requests - why not do health videos on milk (and how bad it is for you), and pH balance.

  • WTH? Milk is NOT bad for you! It's good for your bones!

  • milk is good in moderate amounts. It contains lactose, which is not natural for the human body and also some colesteriol. Not to mention it is very fatty so if you are not living an active life, then drinking lots of milk could be bad for you.

Still, drinking milk is a lot better then drinking soda.

  • Milk is NOT good for you. It causes osteoporosis. the countries with highest dairy consumption have the highest rates of osteoporosis

  • The hell?!? Milk doesnt cause osteoporosis, it the high calcium in milk PREVENTS osteoporosis. /boggle

  • animal protein causes calcium loss, I Repeat , the countries with highest dairy consumption have the highest rate of osteoporosis.

  • I tell you I am arguing in a forum that is rife with new age BS. I am suffering currently from bone loss, and guess what the doctors precribed? Calcium. Duh. Go back to high school and take elementary biology.

  • You're arguing from old age bs and milk council ads, The Doctors prescribed calcium, duh, that doesn't mean milk, moron. go back to sixth grade and graduate Jethro. Meat and milk cause bone loss. Most asians consume NO dairy yet have much lower incidences of osteo. The Scandinavian countries have the highest consumption of dairy and the highest rates of osteo. Quit watching tv and do some research. that way you won't look so foolish.

  • and you need to tell your doctors to check your Vitamin D levels, without adequate Vitamin D, you can chug calcium all day long and it won't help.

  • and check your magnesium and boron too. Both very important.

  • TOTAL MYTH!

  • Top ten worst drinks is a video that natalie did where she talks about milk. she says that non organic whole milk is really bad, but if you buy organic skim milk its not so bad, and organic milk is thicker than regular milk, so you are getting more of a taste like reg milk in 2 percent or skim! hope that helped!

  • Could you also do a video on foods that are seen as "bad" but are not? For example, eggs, coconut, etc.

  • Could you do two separate videos about men's and women's nutritional needs?

  • Rule of thumb: if it is slathered in sauce, condiment or frosting-it probably isnt remotely healthy. And if it is huge (serving sizes are unreal at restaurants)-watch out!

  • food in usa sucks...

  • i want to know about what those of us who dont have an appetite can do im hardly ever hungry so my eating is eratic im told that this is the reason why i keep gaining weight because im not eating enough but seriously if im not hungry even the smell of food makes me want to barf and when i do eat i eat about the same amount of food my 4 yr old eats i really dont want to pass on my bad eating habits to her so how do i make my self hungry enough to eat the 3 meals a day cuz im not good at that

  • I don't know if it would help you, but I get granola bars or cereal bars and force myself to eat them sometimes, just to get something down. I'm a healthy weight, so I think it works. Oatmeal is good too, or just salads. I hope it helps!

  • What it really comes down to is this: regadless of whether you eat at home, a fast-food joint or a restaurant, you can find good food and shitty food. For instance, if you go to McDonald's -probably the worst among them- you can get a salad with grilled chicken, maybe some nuts, and a light vinaigrette type dressing. The key is to stick with grilled, lean meats and vegetables and fruit (prefably raw) as the centerpiece of the meals paired with some water. It's hard to go wrong if you do that.

  • Thanks Natalie

  • dude!! she is hott.....she should make a bootty shake video hahah

  • 2400 calories a day LMAO! i need at least 7000 other wise i will look like a stick figure i workoutand play bball i need a bunch of food carbs proteins alot of water wtf is this? eat FAST FOOD its healthy

  • lol the days i run a marathon i need 5000

  • ditto

  • She looks so healthy. i'm jealous.

  • It seems as though she just picked the biggest portioned meal on the menu. Isn't that why they have different sized meals on their menus? Fast food places usually have abouthe same size portions or very limited.

  • im in love...

  • i have never heard of the first resturant O.o

    lol

  • shit....im sticking to broccoli

  • attention all sheep...its not rele about protein, fat, sodium, carbs, or protein..sure these things play a minor role as does exercise...but its rele about how the food is PROCESSED, bread in american vs. bread in italy are going to be processed differently...for example the bread in america would have ingredients like wheat flour, water high fructose corn syrup, etc. the bread in italy would have wheat flour, water, cane sugar, etc. the difference is in the ingredients...read the ingredients

  • You mentioned olive oil as a healthy oil. While that may be true in room temperature, olive oil turns trans fat in heat because it's a highly unstable oil in heat so try not to cook with it. Apt for extra virgin coconut oil instead. Because coconut oil is a medium chain saturated fat, it's structure remains stable through heat.

  • She talks about that in a video called "Coconut is a super food".

  • @MandyT226 Also different pressings of olive oil have different heat stability. Extra virgin is best used at room temperature in salads, etc. not only because of the reason you mentioned but because it's the most fruity and flavorful pressing so it's best to eat at room temp. "Light" olive oil or not extra virgin is a better choice to cook with because it has a high smoke point so it's more stable and you can get the benefits of using a healthier fat.

  • Dont the americans know thise things????? any idiot in sweden know its fatty food... :S

  • Any idiot in the world would know, i had a "friend" in the usa that didnt know pizza and burgers and stuff was bad for you.

    What an idiot.

  • Nice vid.. The only thing is PF changs has a heathier Menu.. I think its called their FIT menu.....

  • It's funny you mentioned the twice baked lasagna at the Macaroni Grill. I had this exact meal when visiting a friend in Virginia. I had to eat it over 3 seperate meals over 3 days. I'm Canadian and not used to such ridiculous portion sizes!

  • Portion sizes are bad in canada too...

    Check out your famous Poutines!

  • its a bizarre thing with these cakes, I had a tiny piece without icing or anything, looked up the calories and found out I could have just had a light meal instead

  • I think im thin enuf... lol

  • can i eat those sun flower things behind you?

  • tell her to keep this pompadour style haircut. it is by far the best she's had yet

  • i think you need to look up the term pompadour. because this isnt it.

  • wow... so im glad you kare and are trying to help people loss/eat better but do you have fun eating anything ?

    ~~DC

  • anyone goes out to glorified truckstops, and enjoys getting bloated on poison prepared by Buttscratch Mcgeecoli deserves to be suffering while they "breathe easy" between gluttonous mouthfuls of steaming neurotoxins.Oh! and dont forget your to-go box in which the leftovers begin to clog the arteries of anyone close enough to smell the nauseating box of medical bills to come and drain juniors college fund, but lucky for jr. you dont need a degree to peddle poison platters for tchotchkes

  • Thanks for letting us know i am shocked what i just saw, lucky i dont go to places like that!!!

  • Pictures of the food would make this a lot easier to grasp.

  • what about sushi?? thats healthy takeaway if you pick the non fried ones. i always take raw salmon.

  • Hey, Nat! You must've learned a lot from the good ol' CSPI! Nice expose on the food Items as well! Nowadays, I share my mother's entree when eating out!

  • if you are a teenager, what is the reccomended income of calories, and fat?

  • more

  • An active teenage male, about 2500-3000 to maintain.

Active teenage female would be about 2000-2500.

  • Ever see the IHOP commercial for pancakes...are those suppose to be a meal (breakfast) or dessert...it's just fat and flour covered in sugar...but its all you can eat, what a deal!

  • entenmann's cheesecake is awesome

  • You should do something on how food manufacturers are putting more and more MSG into things - even stuff you wouldn't suspect. I always read labels for it since I have a bad reaction to it, and I've noticed that in the last couple of years it is in more and more stuff. It's getting hard to avoid.

  • I just posted a video on MSG actually. :)

  • Wow - synchronicity ;') A lot of people already know it sucks. What is bothering me is the big Push to put MSG in everything. I watch labels very carefully for it, since it nearly kills me, and its use has Vastly increassed in just the last two years.

MSG gives me horrible eight-hour gall bladder attacks. People who hae them should be awar that MSG can trigger such attacks.

MSG is an excuse for rotten cooking.

  • In what form do MSG's come in? What are they named on the label so that I can look for them...

  • monosodium glutamate - although that can be in soy products and Not be so-labelled for some odd reason. Possibly because they are a by product of the method of hydrolyzing soy protein and not an actual added ingredient. I still use a little low-sodium soy sauce, though. That's not a huge amount. But if you're into some new age "I must consume mass quantities of soy" diet, you might be getting too much ;')

  • @psychetruth im not from the USA but can you PLEASE tell me how you guys even make it possible to make "chicken and brocolli pasta" with more than 2000 calories? WOW.

The carrot cake comes as no shock, you say "one slice", it weighs a pound. Thats like... a whole cake in the uk lol. Nom nom nom nom

    xx

  • @GatecrasherSlim it's our extreme portion sizes that cause something as simple as chicken and broccoli pasta to be so caloric. That and it probably has a rich cheese sauce instead of something more healthful like tomato sauce or a little extra virgin olive oil and garlic.

I have gotten in the habit at restaurants if I get pasta, I cut my portion right down the middle with my knife and only eat half. The other half is lunch the next day.

  • Indeed!!!

  • I like how you show the average male picture as a model. That picture is the average 17 year old male who hasn't started puberty or thinks shaving his chest is cool. I really like your site and the info you put out. It feels like I am watching speeches in a freshman college nutrition class. I love how you package the info with two pretty girls. Like sugar it helps the medicine or in this case information go down.

  • thanks for the information Mike!

  • Hehe, this one was all Natalie. Thank her.

  • It would be nice if all restaurant menus gave us some idea what nutrients/fat/salt is contained in each dish.

  • With a sense of regret and loss I acquiess and I do thank you Natalie!

  • Wow. Still amazes me how not actually looking at what I am eating is causing problems. Next order: salad please!!

  • All this video did was make me want to go to LoneStar and eat a pound of fajiats.

  • great video thanks for sending it to me psychetruth. Natalie great job on your videos keep up the good work. very informative easy to understand.. thanks again...

  • Yum, I'll take the two salads, steaks, and buttered potatoes, please.

  • In short, avoid items that has the word, "Double" and "Twice" in it.

  • Wow.

  • A very good message. Not paying attention to everything we eat is deadly.

I'll look forward to Natalie's take on managing cravings.

  • One tip I learned long ago about salad dressing is not just to order it on the side, but just dip your fork into it before taking a fork of salad..same taste and just a tiny bit of dressing.

  • interesting, i must check out your other vid, i recall carbohydrates giving you energy but then i hear people trying to get rid of carbs, strange,

  • Too many carbs makes you fat, fat, fat. :)

The "Understanding Food" videos actually give you a great little crash course of nutrition. I really recommend them.

  • Isn't it too many calories that make you fat? I thought the Atkins diet proved that it's really calories at the end of the day that make you gain or lose weight, not a specific food group.

Not that I am advocating Atkins but weight loss science boils down to 3,500 extra calories/day equals a pound. Am I wrong?

  • Technically it's accumulating more calories than you expend in energy. yes.

  • thx, i did get a chance to see them, very informative, i loved it :)

  • Wow, 3900 mg of sodium in a serving of lasagna. There's 2400 mg sodium in a teaspoon of salt, so that's almost 2 entire teaspoons of salt in one serving of something, which is pretty crazy. If you've ever accidentally put a whole teaspoon of salt in something when you meant to put in just a few shakes, you know that 1 tsp salt is a lot.
